Biafra: The Rule of Law Is Alien To Nigerians - Kanu

Thursday, January 28, 2021.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra - IPOB, in a recent broadcast said that Nigerians, more especially their leaders do not understand the tenets of 'the rule of law'.
This he made known during his live radio broadcast on the evening of Monday, 25th of January, 2021. When he reiterated that judicial pronouncements in any country of the world are themselves, a statutory law.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu reminded the poor in mind to comprehend what enacted law is all about, he said, that Nigeria as a nation state had placed a ban on open grazing in their own law courts by "Justice  Adewole Thompson" on the 17th of April 1969. Although the Justice, he reminded, had died in 2004 at the age of 82.  Mazi Nnamdi Kanu quoted a newspaper called the 'PM News' that carried the publication where the high court of Nigeria at that time banned the movement of cattle from place to place as well as open grazing.

Despite the fact that the ban on open grazing has been a law in Nigeria ever since this well enunciated bill was pronounced into law, the Fulani herders till date breaks that law with great impunity and reckless abandon.

In his word, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu said;
"Whenever you see Fulani herders driving cattles around in farm lands or in the townships as they always does, they are breaking the laws of the country and should be put in jail".
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu stressed further by accusing the attorney general of the Nigeria federation (a Fulani man) whom he said could not interpret the law and tell the federal government that it is illegal to support open grazing according to the law of Nigeria.

"And you are telling me that such a place deserves to be called a country" he said.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu pointed out how potent such pronouncements from judges in the law courts are. This he likened to the incident that took place in Alabama, in far away United States of America, when a lady activist called Rosa Park, stood up against black segregation on public buses. An incident that led a judge in the supreme court of America declaring equality between the whites and the blacks and made a pronouncement that the blacks must not stand up for a white passenger and the pronouncement became a law in America till this day.  Such are the expectations of a country that practiced and obeys the rule of law, he concluded.

From the above Kanu's state address to the Nigeria federation, it has become known to the public domain that the Fulani controlled federal government of Nigeria is the arrow head unabating and supporting in the open, the Fulani herders terrorism against their host communities and towns where they illegally occupy their forests and bushes thereby executing their mayhem from such hideouts.
