Top 7 Igbo Politicians on IPOB Blacklist and Why

August 20, 2019 | The Biafra Times

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON THE ACTIVE ROLE IKE EKWEREMADU, NNIA NWODO, DAVE UMAHI, OKEZIE IKPEAZU, ROCHAS OKOROCHA, WILLIE OBIANO & IFEANYI UGWUANYI PLAYED IN THE PLOT TO ASSASSINATE ME & KILL OUR DREAM OF FREEDOM THROUGH THEIR OPERATION PYTHON DANCE [Part 1]

These men mentioned above instigated, financed and defended a full-scale bloody military invasion of Biafraland they tagged Operation Python Dance that led to the torture and untimely death of over 600 Biafrans, 28 of which fell in my compound.

These men sanctioned the desecration of the home of an Igbo tradition ruler by Fulani soldiers and did not care if my father HRM Eze Israel Okwu Kanu and my mother, who were home with me during the unprovoked invasion, is killed or not. All these desperate Igbo politicians ever wanted was my death, the death of IPOB, the death of our dream of freedom for all.

In view of the Nuremberg encounter, it has become necessary for us to refresh our memories lest it succumbs to confusion and deliberate misinformation because most people, unlike we IPOB, are in the habit of excusing intolerable evil and wickedness but we not. Every perpetrator of evil, every purveyor of iniquity, every merchant of misery and every defender of injustice must and will be held to account. We will relent until justice is served.

*Full Resolution of South-East Governors On IPOB and Operation Python Dance

The Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, read the resolution with Enugu Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to his left and Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State to his right.

The South-East Governors Forum held a meeting at Government House in Enugu over the increased tension in the region after what they mischievously termed Sunday’s clash between soldiers and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

At the end of the meeting, which was also attended by Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo John Nwodo, they arrived at 11 resolutions which include a ban on IPOB activities and an appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari to withdraw soldiers from the region.

Below is the statement read by the Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State Dave Umahi at the end of that meeting:

In view of the prevailing situation in the South East and its attendant consequences, the South-East governors hereby resolve as follows:

1. All activities of IPOB are hereby proscribed. IPOB and all other aggrieved groups are to articulate their position on all national issues and submit to the committee of Governors of South East, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and National Assembly members from South-East zone through the Chairman of South-East Governors Forum.

2. All governors of South East are expected to ensure compliance in their respective states.

3. The South-East Governors Forum, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and National Assembly Members do hereby reinforce their commitment to one united and indivisible Nigeria.

4. We also reinforce our desire for the restructuring of Nigeria where all national issues will be discussed and amicably settled to achieve justice and fairness to every Nigerian.

5. We reiterate our earlier position that the November 18, 2017, Gubernatorial election in Anambra State must hold.

6. Accordingly, we appeal to our President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to, please, withdraw the military in the South-East Zone while the police perform their traditional role of maintaining law and order within this period.

7. South-East governors have taken concrete steps to protect the lives and properties of non-indigenes in the South East and, of course, including the lives and properties of indigenes in the South-East as well.

8. We are in touch with the Northern Governors Forum and they have assured us of the safety of all our people living in the North and we have also planned for exchange of visits between the governors. This is to reinforce the confidence of Nigerians in this regard.

9. In keeping with our earlier position, we wish to assure Nigerians that full investigation is ongoing and all allegations of killings, maiming and other unlawful conduct in the South-East Zone within this period. The governors and the security agencies are in agreement that appropriate action will be taken against anyone culpable.

10. We advise all residents of the South East to go about their normal businesses as the government of each state is committed to protecting everybody.

11. Finally, we advise our people in the South East to, please, be law-abiding.

[End of statement]

I have added the video of the unprovoked military assault on my compound by the cowardly Nigerian Army whose sole purpose was to kill me -an unarmed man, my parents and those around me despite the fact we are a peaceful movement. Those with a conscience can now understand the root cause of our anger and why we won't stop until they all pay dearly for their sins.

IPOB Slams Nigerian Judiciary Over Incompetency, Express Concern Over Quietness of Human Rights Groups in Face of Injustice

IPOB PRESS RELEASE | Published By The Biafra Times

August 24, 2018

The global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) condemn in its entirely the ongoing judicial charade  and actions of the Magistrates Court sitting in Owerri under the control of Rochas Okorocha of Imo State with the backing of Aso Rock and those Igbo Efulefus whose silence so far is confirmation of their treacherous nature and ambivalence to the suffering of Biafrans in general and Igbos in particular.

We equally note with particular concern, the silence of some supposed human rights groups in Nigeria. We are aware that IPOB related cases always showcase the very worst in Nigerian judicial practice. The level of ignorance and disregard for simple rules of a properly constituted court of law presently on show in Imo State lends further credence to our assertion that a significant proportion of magistrates and judges are ignorant of the laws of Nigeria and rules governing their conduct.

By allowing the detention of mothers, wives and sisters that pose no discernible threat to the state, APC government represented by Rochas Okorocha in Imo, Igbo politicians in Abuja, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Igbo governors and countless other fronts are all in the pocket of Arewa north. They are weak, compromised and incapable of speaking out against blatant injustice against their own people. It confirms what we have always known, that they were all appointed or rigged into office to defend the interest of their northern Fulani masters against the collective will of the Biafran people.

Anybody in doubt as to the impotency and subservience of the Igbo political class, should look no further than the treatment of our mothers in Owerri prisons. Imo State is supposedly run by a man bearing an Igbo name, the magistrate that remanded our mothers is Igbo, the prison is run by Igbo men but they still refused to give our mothers food or allow those still nursing to breastfeed their babies.

The complete and total humiliation of the Igbo race is what we are witnessing today because even laws enacted and passed to defend the people can no longer be relied upon to save the innocent. Practicing and studying law in Nigeria is an utter and complete waste of time. It is either Nigeria and those charged with her law enforcing and judicial interpretation are not civilized enough to practice English Common Law or the essence of principle of separation of powers is completely lost on them.

What Owerri Magistrate Court displayed today and last week by remanding innocent mothers in prison is the height of judicial impunity, executive overreach and abuse of power by collaborators, both in Imo State and Abuja. Justice is no longer based on the merits of a case but on the wish of a governor or Aso Rock cabal.

The level of ignorance of the law prevalent in the Nigerian judiciary is a far greater threat to democracy than gun-wielding Fulani terrorists. By allowing themselves to be used to remand our mothers in prison today and last Friday, without any legal backing, is tantamount to political suicide and judicial illegality.

A first year law student knows that a 'Holden Charge' is illegal because the Supreme Court of Nigeria have so declared in their ruling. Why therefore is the APC government at federal and state levels using this process, that has been declared illegal, to detain Biafrans? Rochas Okorocha, his APC Party in Imo State and the prosecutor handling the case have all broken the law by allowing the presiding magistrate to declare lack of jurisdiction as a way of delaying the case, while at the same time ordering the detention of innocent mothers. The is the exact same thing Supreme Court ruling said should not happen.

It is baffling that an overwhelming number of human rights groups in Nigeria cannot speak out against this blatant injustice because those being persecuted are Biafran women. The hatred and bias against Biafra is as much as that experienced by Jews in Europe in the days of Adolf  Hitler.

Mr. Clement Nwankwo Director of Policy and Legal Advocacy Center (PLAC), Chief Innocent Chukwuma of CLEEN Foundation, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu former Chairman National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Dr. Sam Amadi Former Chairman of Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission, Barr. Uche Wisdom Durueke President Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), Okechukwuma Nwanguma Coordinator Network on Peace Reforms (NPR), Dr. Joe Otteh, Dr. Jude Ohanele, Chido Onuma, Barr. Chinenye Edmund Obiagwu Director Legal Defense and Assistance Project (LDA), Barr. Eze Onyekpere Director of Center for Social Justice. Dr. Uju Agomuoh ED PRAWA Enugu, Chilos Godsent, President Igbo National Council (INC) have all refused to talk because money and serving Fulani interest is more lucrative than standing up for the truth. They are compromised and will never speak against injustice despite being in charge of NGOs that claim to be fighting for human rights.

Nigeria is perhaps the only country where a Magistrate can overrule a Supreme Court judgement. Of what use is the Supreme Court if it's pronouncements is not binding on a lower court. But they call themselves learned men and women. Sometimes one is tempted to ask, would it not be better for Europe to come back and recolonise Africa because rather than making progress, we are regressing with the passage of each day.

Biafra: IPOB women are resolute, they broke no law

By Andy Syl | For Biafra Writers

August 23, 2018

We must remain resolute in our peaceful quest for Biafra freedom. I must use this medium to console, congratulate and encourage our mothers, wives and sisters whom the Imo state commissioner of police in full collaboration with the State governor, Anayo Rochas Okorocha have done their worst by teargassing, beaten, locking and denying our mothers access to decent food and medications.

We want the international community to know that these mothers and grandmothers committed no offence under the laws of the land, they were merely exercising their fundamental rights to freedom of assembly as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution. We want the world to know that the state police used highly disproportionate force on these harmless mothers, and still went ahead to detain them under very inhuman jail conditions, denying them visits from their husbands, sons, daughters and other relations.

Most of these mothers are nursing babies and could not feed their little infants since Friday, August 17, 2018, till today August 23, 2018. 1 week of assault on our mothers and still counting, while our southeast franchise politicians look the other way. This shows the level of sabotage from Biafran politicians and the so-called Igbo leaders/elites. Can you in your wildest imagination touch an Hausa (Muslim) mother let alone keeping her under such derogatory conditions? No, it's impossible.

Igbo cash and carry politicians/elites have now confirmed a statement once made by the sitting Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el Rufai; that the unproductive, uneducated good for nothing Northern citizens are superior to their eastern counterparts. Ndi-Igbo, Ndo nu. SORRY!  Nnia Nwodo and his Ohanaeze Ndigbo should hide their face in shame.

From now on you should expect more peaceful protest all over the places, go and build more jail houses the women are coming. Remember the Aba women riot of 1929 and it’s consequences, the women are bringing the fight to your doorsteps, our mothers are determined, even more determined than our Onyedu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Our gallant mothers remain resolute, give them more protest in all southeastern states, the world is watching, it is better to die a free man than to continue living as slaves to the Northern oligarchy supported by evil Britain. Have it at the back of your mind that you have broken no laws and you are never criminals, rather, those keeping you captive are the CRIMINALS known around the world as world class criminals who commands no respect around the world.

On a final note, this expired entity called Nigeria should know that there is nothing they can do to make the Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB ) worldwide to change it's timetable of events of things to come. We must follow our lay down schedule of things, the way we want it and not the way Nigeria wants it no matter how hard they try to kill, jail, torment or provoke IPOB, you can never dictate for us, rather what remained of the contraption called Nigeria must continue to do our bidding. We are more intelligent, more sophisticated and more determined. Always ahead of Nigeria in every step.

Biafra: Harassment and detention of Biafran women confirms the unprofessionalism of Nigeria Police as reported by WISPI

By Austa Chidiebere | For Biafra Writers

August 23, 2018

On the 17th of August 2018 history was made in Owerri, the lmo state capital as Indigenous Biafra women in their hundreds marched through the streets of Owerri on a peaceful protest to drive home their demand for the whereabouts of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra  (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu whose whereabouts remained unknown after the invasion of his residence by men of the Nigeria Army at AfaraUkwu, Ibeku Umuahia ,Abia State Biafra land.

Nigeria Police Force rated the worst in the world by World Internal Security and Police Index (WISPI) due to their unprofessionalism in handling matters, in their usual manners started shooting teargas and cannister bullets at the women.

These women exercised their fundamental rights as enshrined in Nigeria law. The right to peaceful protest is recognised by Nigeria law, but the Nigeria state have continued to exhibit lawlessness and infringement on the rights of the citizens.

This is so evident in the present day administration of General Mohammadu Buhari who has no respect for the rule of law. In a civilised society, women on a peaceful protest should never be beaten, teargassed, arrested and detained. These women were harmless, they were not carrying any arms, neither were they seen disturbing anybody. The closing in on them by the police is, to say the least, is uncalled for; a malicious and wicked act.

The Governor of lmo State, Rochas Okorocha should be queried for this unfortunate incident happening under his watch. This show of shame by this administration has shown much disrespect to our mothers, sisters, grandmothers and womanhood in general.

Our mothers should not be treated like a piece of garbage by Rochas Okorocha and the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi. this is a call to all lovers of justice to prevail on the Governor of lmo state and the commissioner of police in lmo state to release these innocent women with immediate effect and also apologise to them or face mass civil unrest actions in lmo State.

Biafra: Nigeria Police abuse and humiliation of IPOB Women; Impunity Redefined

By Chuba Ebenezer | For Biafra Writers

August 22, 2018

It's so sad and unfortunate that in this 21st century, women are still treated in such déplorable manner. On the17th of August 2018, about 2,000 Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) women embarked in a peaceful protest march demanding from Nigeria government and her security agents, the whereabouts of their son, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents, who went missing after Nigérian soldiers invaded their home in Afara Ukwu, Umuahia during ill-fated Operation Python Dance 2, on the 14th of September 2017.

What started as peaceful protest suddenly turned awry, the women all dressed in black were seen on the streets of Owerri marching peacefully, singing and chanting to show their displeasure over the disappearance of their son, Nnamdi Kanu and his parents, HRM EZE and Lolo I. O. Kanu suddenly the aged women were rounded up by Nigeria police by the order of  Imo State Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi in collaboration with the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha.

About 109 of them were kidnapped by police, humiliated, beaten, bruised, and denied medical attention, without access to family and friends.
They were finally arraigned on Monday, August 20, 2018, after been illegally detained for more than 48 hours without trial and proper medication. They were denied bail by Owerri Magistrate court due to lack of jurisdiction to entertain the case and remanded in Owerri prisons, under inhuman and degrading condition.

The government have vehemently denied these women their right ever since they were arrested, right now our mothers are facing psychological trauma, hunger and sickness.

We demand that the United Nation, European Union, United States America, International Federation of Women Lawyers and every human right organisation to urgently speed up pressure on the Nigeria government to release these women.

Stop the abuse of the rights of these women. Stop this Torture. Stop this humiliation. Stop this terrorism against unarmed women. Stop this tyranny upon Nigerians.

Biafra: We will shut down Imo state, if our detained mothers are not released - IPOB spit fire

IPOB PRESS RELEASE | Published by The Biafra Times

August 19, 2018

We condemn the sacrilegious arrest, illegal detention and barbaric torture of grandmothers arrested and held in military custody by Nigerian soldiers and police under the most appalling conditions. It is unheard of anywhere in the world that old women, some of them grandmothers, were arrested by army or police, teargassed, locked-up and tortured for exercising their constitutionally guaranteed right to peaceful assembly.

If there were any doubts before that Ala-Igbo and the rest of Biafraland is a Fulani conquered territory, the abominable treatment of elderly women on a peaceful March, arrested, tortured and interrogated like common criminals, have all but dispelled it. That Imo State government gave the go-ahead to northern Islamic army and police formations across Imo State to abduct and torture our mothers, is a clear confirmation that Rochas Okorocha and his government has no regard for us as a people.

The intention of the Islamic APC government is to intimidate and humiliate our people, women and the elderly. The abduction of grandmothers, some of them in their late 70s, is the worst kind of abomination. It is an invitation to anarchy because if by the close of business on Monday, August 20, 2018, IPOB will call for a civil uprising against the oppressors and their agents in Ohaneze Ndigbo and government houses across Biafraland.
This level of desecration and sacrilege will not happen in Arewa North neither will it be condoned in Yorubaland. It is happening in Biafraland because those that parade themselves as leaders (SE governors and Ohaneze) are cowards, appointed by the caliphate to act as their agents.

When Fulani terrorist herdsmen rape our mothers in the farms, destroy our crops and means of livelihood, you don't see any army or police rushing to protect them. No Fulani terror herdsmen has ever been arrested by the Nigerian army or police. But the same long-suffering mothers, with nobody to protect them, are the ones being arrested, detained and tortured for exercising a constitutionally guaranteed right.

As with other conspiratorial atrocities in Biafraland perpetrated by the Nigerian army, DSS and police, Igbo governors as the chief security officer of their states alongside Ohaneze Ndigbo, must be held responsible. Even in the North where Rochas Okorocha comes from, they don't arrest elderly women on a protest march.

It's a pity that Nigeria security who cannot afford to stop or curtail Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram terrorists rampaging and killing people in every part of the country, only demonstrate their might against elderly women who only came out to demand for their right. IPOB will not hesitate to alert the world that Okehi Police Station in Etche Rivers State is where the torture of Biafran women is taking place.

Biafra: Rolling Out Tanks, Shooting and Killing Biafra Activists; an Inevitable Time Bomb That Must Explode One Day

Princewill Akubumma | For Biafra Writers

August 19, 2018

The brute-force attack strategy employed by the Nigerian government in handling issues against pro-Biafra activists is like a man creating a monster that will one day turn around and devour him. And the high handedness with which they follow the Biafra agitators is a proof that Nigeria doesn't value history for you cannot beat a child and forbid him not to cry!

On September 14, 2017, the Gen. Tukur Buratai led Nigeria Army under the order of Muhammadu Buhari in collaboration with Ohanaeze Ndigbo and South East Governors, invaded the home of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in a failed assassination attempt which resulted the death of 28 members of the group, and the disappearance of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents.

For the past one year now the whereabouts of the Biafra leader and his parents is still yet unknown, millions of his followers have been keeping their cool until on Friday, August 17, 2018, when their women decided to embark on a peaceful protest in demand of Kanu's whereabouts, and again, the oppressive Nigerian state as usual called out their armed Police officers to shoot at them with live bullets, harassing and arrested as many as they can after saturating them with lachrymator agent causing them severe eye and respiratory pain. As at the time of filing this report 48 IPOB women are still been held in an inhuman condition in Owerri, Imo State under the watch of Governor Rochas Okorocha and the state's commissioner of police,  Dasuki Galandanchi.

READ ALSO: The Insufficiency Of PVC In Regime Change In Africa

It is obvious that the Nigerian state has continued to try the patience of this non-violent agitators for quite a long time. And there comes a day when you are being pushed against a brick wall, the seemingly only option for you is to either get through the wall or get over it! And every right-thinking person would know that such a day is here upon us!

The world and the international community can bear witness to the fact that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been victimized by the Nigerian state in so many occasions whenever they carried out a peaceful protest against the marginalization and unlawful detention of their members yet, they remained peaceful and resolute in their pursuit for self-determination but the oppressive Nigerian state has continued to kill and maim them for no just course which appears that the only language they understood is violence, which may result to arm struggle.

And we hope that no one should blame the Indigenous People of Biafra if eventually they resort to arm struggle since they are being killed every day for exercising their rights just like every other free people of the world has exercise theirs.

The brute-force attack method being used against the unarmed pro-Biafra agitators in southeast Nigeria is the same approach that birthed the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists in the northern Nigeria which has gone beyond the scope and strength of the federal government and the international community as well.

Recall that the movement once began with a group of people lead by one Muhammad Yusuf who holds peaceful rallies and talks going from one mosque to another teaching the Muslim faithful sharia law and they were conducting themselves peacefully while doing that.

But all came crashing down when the Nigerian government under the watch of the former President Olusegun Obasanjo began to treat them with contempt, shooting and killing them at random just as they have been going about the case with IPOB. It was then that the once peaceful Jama'at Ahli as-Sunnah Lid-Da'wah wal-Jihad group turned violent and started carrying guns, IEDs and all sort of dangerous weapons and started bombing and killing people before they were tagged a terrorist organization and ever since then Boko Haram has not stopped killing people in Nigeria.

A word they say is enough for the wise. The Nigerian government must learn from history or risk having another insurgent in addition to the one they created by themselves which they could not contain.

This is because when injustice becomes a law, resistance becomes a duty.

An Open Letter To Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha Over Erection Of Zuma's Statue

By Ejike Ofoegbu | For Biafra Writers

October 20, 2017

Dear Governor,

You said you caved a statue of another man (President Jacob Zuma) whose country has rejected, who is even facing financial criminal charges in his country. He has none of our statue in his own South African country.

Rochas, if am permitted to address you by your first name, you are a disgrace and an absolute agent of doom to the good people of Imo state. No wonder people always question your paternity. Some have even described you to be an Hausa man whose sole discreet purpose is to destroy Imo State.

I heard your Special Assistant on Media say you caved the statue just to attract investments and development in Imo state. Are you not insane by doing so? Most cities in Nigeria such as Lagos, Abuja, Enugu and even Calabar, that are much developed, can you tell me how many statues of foreigners erected in these aforementioned places? Have these cities erected another man's statue in their city centers? Are you also going to erect the statues of all foreign presidents of the world to attract their investments in Imo state?

READ ALSO: Biafra: I don’t know where my client is, whether he’s dead or alive, I don’t know - Kanu’s Lawyer insists

But my happiness is that in no distant time, all those statues will be destroyed completely and your career as a politician will be murdered forever.

You are owing Imo state workers whose salaries and stipends has not been paid for months, including the pensioners, yet you still summoned the courage to erect the statue of a president of another country whose criminal records is worst than that of Buhari. Okorocha have you ever traveled down to Mbaise and see how catastrophic those roads are which has become a death trap to Imo State citizens? Where is your sense of reasoning? Your idiocy is legendary.

Yes, I am emboldened to insult you, because you first insulted yourself by defying my land with a criminal statue. But do not worry, because, in no distant time, you would come to consume the food Imolites are preparing for you.
