Nigeria Customs Harassing Igbo Travellers - Peter Obi

December 26, 2019 | The Biafra Times

By Dipo Olowookere

Officials of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have been accused of subjecting Igbo travellers to hardship by seizing rice meant for household consumption at its numerous checkpoints in the region.

This allegation was made by former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, at the end-of-the-year meeting of Diamond Brothers Club held yesterday at Oriental Hotel, Lagos.

Mr Obi noted that some people visited him at his Onitsha home to complain about the hardship on people because of countless Customs checkpoints on roads, especially in the South-East.

He stated that to have first-hand information about the complaint, he travelled by road from Lagos to Onitsha and described the situation as worrisome and counter-productive.

Speaking further, Mr Obi wondered if the roads in Nigeria have become wharfs or borders to warrant many Customs checkpoints.

“We know that Customs police our borders to, among other things, guard against smuggling of banned goods, but, if they do this effectively at the borders, as obtainable in other countries, there would not be need for Customs checkpoints all over the place,” he said.

Mr Obi said he observed over 10 checkpoints from Ore to Onitsha and added that, in this time of recession, what was more worrisome was that they stopped travellers and demanded Customs papers, clearance papers for vehicles, including those bought several years ago.

“Even families going home for Christmas were stopped and the rice they were given as gifts in their offices or bought in the open market were confiscated under the presence that they were foreign rice.”

Mr Obi appealed to the Customs Comptroller General, Mr Hameed Ali, “to look with interest” at what is happening and “to completely overhaul their mode of operations by targeting those importing banned goods at the borders and not innocent Nigerians trying painfully to eke a living.”

He commended Customs for their contributions to the growth and development of the country but argued that, “taking their checkpoints to places that have or have no need of them is subjecting the people to underserved hardship.

The Obi Trap and the Naivety of Igbo Leaders

February 14, 2019

By Nelson Ofokar Yagazie | For Biafra Writers

Ohaneze Ndigbo – the said apex socio-cultural group of the Igbo ethnic group – is today divided over which presidential candidate to be supported during Saturday’s election. A faction of the group led by its president, John Nnia Nwodo, endorsed Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, while the opposing faction led by the embattled Secretary-General, Mr. Uche Okwukwu, pledged loyalty to the Sudanese impostor, Jubril, whom they mistake for late President Muhammadu Buhari. The Okwukwu-led faction is reported to have tendered apology to Buhari (Jubril) for the actions of the other faction who endorsed Atiku.

There has been hot exchange of words between the warring factions, with the governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano, losing every sense of decorum as he openly addressed John Nnia Nwodo, as an idiot. As if the trading of words is not enough, the police stormed the Ohanaeze meeting and dispersed them at the incitement of the pro-Buhari faction. It must be noted that their Yoruba counterpart, the Afenifere is not divided over the choice of endorsement of the presidential candidates; neither is the far northern group, the Arewa divided over the choice of the candidates. it’s only the Ohanaeze Ndigbo that have allowed shame to befall upon themselves. Funny enough, the two candidates they are viciously fighting dirty for are all Fulanis.

Ironically, while Ohanaeze Ndigbo are exchanging blows over which Fulani man to support, their kinsman, Kingsley Moghalu, is also vying for the same position. What prevents them from drumming his support?

The faction that endorsed Atiku claims they toed that path following the nomination of Peter Obi as his running mate, arguing strongly that it is in the best interest of Ndigbo to support a candidate who chose an Igbo son as his second-in-command. This particular group has made all sorts of statements condemning Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's call for election boycott, claiming the call seeks to undermine the chances of an Igbo man attaining the position of a Vice President. They have as well sponsored a barrage of unemployed youths to be pouring out diatribes against Nnamdi Kanu all over the social media. These unemployed youths, both due to hunger and poor intellect, recently have been on the loose, adulterating cyberspace with tirades and poorly packaged arguments against IPOB's election boycott declaration.

Before moving on, permit me to state categorically here that both parties – the pro-Buhari and the pro-Atiku groups – are not there for the Igbo interest as they would want us to believe; they are there purely for their own selfish gain, each man following the route he believes will lead him as an individual to attain a higher political trajectory or at least guarantee his present office. Nonetheless, for the sake of this discourse, let us pretend to be sold on the decoy waved at our face: the Igbo interest.

The disillusioned pro-Buhari group argues that it is better to queue behind Buhari (Jubril) in wait for 2023 when they hope the Igbo would be given a chance to produce the next president. Clearly, such hopes are in vain not only because such prospect has been waved at them time without number with nothing coming out of it, but also and more glaringly, the Yorubas are waiting for that turn and pitched against the Igbo in the power equation of Nigeria as it is now, the Yoruba will always emerge ahead of the Igbo. The same thing Igbos in the All Progressives Congress, APC, are telling their kinsmen, Yoruba power players are equally telling their people to sway voters’ support. By this I mean: the Igbo APC members tell the Igbos that if they support Buhari this 2019, an Igbo man will be given the presidency come 2023. The Yorubas, on the other hand, preach similarly, convincing their brothers that one of their own will be made president if only they can help enthrone Buhari once again.

The duplicity in this lofty promise undresses self in the question, "if the Igbo, as well as the Yoruba, cast their vote for Buhari (Jubril), who then between the two tribes will produce the president at the expiration of Buhari's tenure in 2023? It thus becomes clear that somebody is deceiving somebody.

Gazing at Nigeria's political chessboard, even the blind can tell there is no hope for the Igbo. The North would always favour the Yoruba over the Igbo any time, any day. There is this political alignment between the Hausa/Fulani and the Yoruba which ensures power-sharing between them and a total eclipse of the Igbo. This pact finds eternal expression in the acronym NAIRA which indirectly means Never Allow Igbos Rule Again.

The unsuspecting Igbo artisans and the poorly educated Igbo youths recruited to attack Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with the single goal of forestalling his efforts to liberate Biafra from Nigeria's grip, are ignorant of the fact that their legal tender, the Naira, is an immortalization of a pact struck to keep them out of Nigeria's juiciest positions.

It was this existing pact that moved the late dictator, Muhammadu Buhari, to subvert Alex Ekwueme's chances of becoming president by orchestrating a coup in Shagari's second tenure at the end of which, Ekwueme would have easily cruised to power. It's also this pact that made IBB and Atiku Abubakar to mobilize all northern delegates against Ekwueme in 1999 and 2003.

Besides, APC is in the firm control of a Yoruba man, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Would he let down his own tribe to lift the Igbo? I don't think it is likely, most especially when it is clear that he is interested in the presidency himself. Where then lays the hope of Igbo APC members?

The pro-Atiku group, oared on by the Peter Obi bait, argue that a candidate that finds it in his heart to consider an Igbo for deputizing role is worthy of their support, reasoning that with an Igbo as a Vice President, the government will surely look their way. Their high hope in Atiku is built on the notion that Obi as the vice will influence him to restructure Nigeria and ensure an inclusive development. Again, let me remind us that these things are smokescreen, their real interest is self.

Viewing through the prism of the current VP, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, let us now look at how effective the position of Vice President is. Yemi Osibanjo, a professor, pastor, an attorney at law, is currently the Vice President of Nigeria. Regardless of his academic laurels, he has not been able to resuscitate the deteriorating Nigerian economy; he has not been able to ensure security of life and property, he has not been able to return independence to the press and judiciary ... not forgetting he is a barrister himself; he has not been able to keep Fulani herdsmen terrorists from Yoruba land; he has not been able to influence religious tolerance. Although a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, he could not even bring to judgment those that beheaded a Redeemed Christian Church woman in Abuja. He could not stop his master, Buhari, from shutting down the church in Aso Rock. He could not ensure equal distribution of appointments between the North and the South. He could not influence attention to education sector. The list is endless. If Osinbajo, a professor, pastor, and attorney at law, cannot influence anything in his capacity as a vice president, what makes a factionalized Ohanaeze Ndigbo think Obi can? One can take the analogy down to Shagari/Ekwueme era. Did Ekwueme in all his scholarly luminescence avert austerity? He couldn't because he wasn’t in the position to sign any bill by himself, and the man who was is a Fulani and as it’s now evident, the Fulani doesn’t understand the ideological rigour requisite in running a viable economy. It goes on to show that the position of Vice President is practically impotent.

Another argument of this pro-Atiku Ohanaeze group and their foot-soldiers – the recruited non-thinking Igbo youths attacking IPOB and its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu – is that if the Igbo throw their weight behind Atiku, when he might have served out his term, Obi will succeed him. Tall dream! Insincere as it is. How forgetful they are! The Igbo is hated; the Igbo are politically eclipsed. Nigeria’s currency, naira – Never Allow Igbos Rule Again – screams it loud. In the late seventies cum early eighties, those that have been before you nurtured that hopes on Ekwueme. What happened? The Naira Pact came into play and the rest is now history. Why was Chuba Okadigbo clandestinely eliminated? Because he found in Buhari's office the signed document that keeps the Igbo from occupying the apex political seat in Nigeria. “How many times will something happen to you before you learn?” an Igbo proverbial bird asked its young.

The Obi Trap:
Clearly, the decision of the Fulani oligarchy to pick an Igbo as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate is a trap. Having seen the Biafran uprising and the insurmountable demand for freedom, the northern power players thought it right to play a fast one. They threw the Obi bait and Igbos fell for it headlong. Now the Igbo are divided among themselves. The Ohaneze is factionalized but unified in their attack on IPOB, avarice oaring them on.

While Ohaneze Ndigbo are killing themselves over two Fulani men, their kinsman, Kingsley Moghalu is vying for the same position. The so-called Igbo leaders who claim they are fighting for Igbo interest ignored the Igbo interest in Kingsley Moghalu to drum for two Fulani men. Is the position of Vice President bigger than that of the President itself? Now you see they never meant well for the Igbo as a people. They are all for selves.

IPOB having summed it all up asked for a boycott. A boycott is a demonstration of indignation. A civil disobedience, it will bring the government to its knees, attract international intervention and force through the referendum demand. Awolowo led the Yorubas to election boycott in the sixties, and the political bottleneck it created collapsed the first republic; South Africans boycotted the Soweto election in the seventies and it took their agitation to the next level; Croatia did it and the political upheaval it generated helped to usher in their independence. There are many more instances. Only a referendum can nullify the Naira Pact. Only a referendum can free the Biafrans from slavery.

The Evil Team Called Atiku/Obi Ticket; Beware Soul Brother

By Nelson Ofokar Yagazie | For Biafra Writers

February 7, 2019

With deep sense of concern and duty to our people, I offer, amidst warm tears, to remind our people the true nature of the evil duo they are about making the grave mistake of putting into office. This is a similar mistake we warned against at the buildup of the 2015 rape of franchise labeled election which saw the most barbaric despot into power.

Because Biafrans, especially the Igbo speaking clan, have proven to be the most gullible of political pranks in this ill fated British experiment referred to as Nigeria, permit me to open the discourse with the beast in human flesh called Peter Obi. During his years in power as the executive governor of Anambara state, Peter Obi ordered the murder of over a hundred and fifty innocent youths whose dead bodies were not even accorded the traditional respect of burial. Instead, like worthless animals, their bodies were dumped in Ezu River where they floated for weeks. Knowing that any concerted investigation will lead back to him, Obi starkly refused to investigate the gruesome murder despite calls from different quarters. Is this the kind of man you want to put in office? A murderer? If as a mere governor he could shed the blood of those he is supposed to protect, what do you think he would do if he becomes the number two citizen of a murderous entity like Nigeria?

And if you have forgotten, this fellow Peter Obi, who reports have revealed is a homosexual, ascended the throne of Anambra state governor on the platform of APGA, riding on the shoulders of His Excellency, late General Chukwemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. The late General, having instructed that APGA be used as the political front of his lifetime project - Biafra freedom - and having gotten reassurance from the double faced Obi, threw his weight behind him. But Obi, upon getting to office, turned his back on all agreements, pursuing his self-interest rather.

Records are there to remind all and sundry of Obi's pledges and reiterations never to leave APGA for any other party. But today what have we? Has he not dumped APGA? Has he not joined PDP? And this is the same PDP that his own mouth called devilish, corrupt, and harbinger of death. Does anyone need prism to see that this self-seeking man is not just double faced but a shameless dog that returns to its vomit? Now put it all together and ask yourself, "can such a rapacious fellow serve your interest? Can such a double-faced fellow stick to any word uttered in campaigns?" And if the answer to these two questions is no, why then do you want to go out and stand under the harsh sun just to vote?

Does Obi love you and he carried his 15 billion naira worth shopping mall to Abuja? Why did he not build it in Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Enugu, Umuahia, Asaba, Warri, Owerri, or Uyo? He didn't because he doesn't really care about you; he didn't because he wanted his Hausa/Fulani masters to see him serving the interest of the North rather than the East. He knew of course if he built it anywhere in Biafra land the suffering people of Biafra will gain employment, and he didn't want that. He wanted the Hausas to benefit instead. That's the depth of love the man for whose sake you want to go and stand under the sun has for you.

What the mentally bereft folks clamouring for this vermin have failed to grasp is the significance of the melodrama that played out late last year at the Enugu Adoration ground on the bazaar day. Peter Obi clearly demonstrated his serpentine nature and Reverend Father Mbaka saw him for whom he is - an untrustworthy fellow. If Obi could have such temerity to outsmart God, who then do you think you are that he will not dribble? Obi seeks nothing but self-enrichment. Put him to power and you will cry had I known.

Atiku Abubakar - another homosexual secret eyes tell - has through political harlotry clinched the PDP presidential ticket. Just in case anyone has forgotten, Atiku has moved in and out of PDP a record two times, his self-interest oaring him on. What a dishonorable man!

Brethren, do you forget that quickly? This man Atiku, whose political drum you are blindly beating today, left PDP to team up with late President Muhammad Buhari in APC in a concerted effort to remove our brother, Goodluck Jonathan, from office. They succeeded, and today he is asking you to vote Buhari (Jubril) out? When, in the pursuit of Fulani agenda, they connived to force Jonathan out of office, did he not know that the man he is helping is moribund? Did he not know he is a tyrant? Are you that daft?

Do you forget this is the same Atiku that that fought tooth and neck to frustrate our late brother, Dr. Alex Ekwueme? Do you forget this is the same Atiku during whose time in customs lots and lots of Igbo owned containers were illegally ceased and auctioned? What do you think will be the fate of Onitsha business men, and come to that, every Biafran business man if an evil man like Atiku ascends into power?

For his self-gain Atiku left PDP twice and returned twice. For his self-gain Peter Obi dumped APGA for PDP. Men without honour! Can you trust such duo enough to entrust them with your future?

Isn't it interesting that two political harlots are conjoined and are positioning selves to rule you? Isn't it interesting that Atiku picked a fellow homosexual? Imagine what a country controlled by homosexuals will be. Imagine what a country ruled by self-seeking duo will be.

Beloved, sit at home on the 16th of February, let them who ushered in the evil government of Buhari deal with the monster they created. Boycott the charade nicknamed election. Do not renew your enslavement.

2019 Elections: Pressure mounts on Obi to show commitment against Biafra

By Dave O. Umahi | For Biafra Writers

December 15, 2018

Latest information reaching Biafra Writers Forum details that the Fulani oligarchy is mounting serious pressure on the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi to show commitment to their cause by renouncing Biafra in an elaborate oath-taking event before Fulani leaders. This was revealed as part of the reason his bank accounts and that of his wife and son were recently frozen.

Our source described it as the strongest arm-twisting act the oligarchy has employed so far to make him pledge his loyalty to the oligarchy by accepting to be turbaned by the Sultan of Sokoto. According to our source, all other means through which this was communicated to him previously were rebuffed by Obi.

Our correspondents were informed that the oligarchy were all aware that Obi had worked for their interest in the past against the Biafra agitation when he was Anambra State governor. Then, as a governor, Obi had backed Nigerian military and police to kill Biafran youths and dump their bodies in Ezu River. However, they are still skeptical of him because of his beer brand (Hero), which carries the Biafra legend (the Rising Sun).

Even though Obi owns the biggest shopping mall in Abuja, the Northerners were said to be still harbouring fears that Obi may ditch them at the last minute and begin to work for the Biafra agenda.

Usually, what the Fulani oligarchy do is to bring southern candidates they hope to rig into power, and have them make commitment under oath that they would be in office only to do their bidding. This is usually done during their turbaning exercise, which they are trying to compel Obi to come and perform.

Peter Obi: Nigeria’s perfect tool for onslaught against Biafra

Dave O. Umahi | For Biafra Writers

October 31, 2018

That Peter Obi, the running mate to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has a perfect CV for the person Nigerian bloodsuckers were looking for to anchor their final master plan against Biafra, is no longer in doubt. It was a massive plan to destroy whatever gains Nnamdi Kanu and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) he heads, had recorded in the Biafra struggle.

When the chief protagonists of the plan like Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari looked around for the perfect stooge to execute the plan, Peter Obi fitted the position very well. Meanwhile, bear in mind that Obasanjo and Buhari may disagree on anything, but their agreement on the demolition of Biafra is solid. So also, Yakubu Gowon (the chief bloodsucker); Ibrahim Babangida; Theophilus Danjuma; and Atiku Abubakar – they may disagree on anything but not on the desire to completely destroy Biafra and Biafrans.

So they agreed that Peter is to do the job. Who is Peter Obi? He was the man who they used in Anambra State to massacre hundreds of Biafran youths who were agitating for Biafra independence. It was Obasanjo, while still serving as President in 2006 had tipped Chris Nigige for the job and rigged him into office as Anambra state governor. But Ngige refused to cooperate with Obasanjo on that score. A kangaroo impeachment was immediately organized to remove Ngige after Obi accepted to do the dirty job.

Immediately Obi was declared governor, he went about the business immediately. He quickly gave a ‘shoot-at-sight’ order to the police and army to eliminate anyone professing or campaigning for Biafra in the state. As a result, nothing less than 2000 Biafran youths were murdered within days.

While this was going on Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, former Biafra leader was consistently calling him on phone. Obi refused to pick his calls until he had completed the dastardly act. This was the major reason why late Vice President, Alex Ekwueme, distanced himself from Obi; refusing to attend functions he was invited to by the former governor.

This same Obi was the man who renovated and expanded the Ekwulobia Prison 2011, having negotiated with Northern Leaders to push many members of deadly Boko Haram prisoners to the place. The plan was to start unleashing them to the unsuspecting public gradually, from where they will begin their planned deadly Islamic expansion.

Read Also: The Atiku/Obi Gambit: A frontal attack on Biafra restoration project

IPOB mounted a very deafening campaign against it, which made him and his Northern sponsors to beat a retreat and move on to implementing other plans. One of the plans they turned to was Peter Obi sponsoring bills in the rubber stamp state assembly with the aim of having what they called Cattle Grazing Reserves or Cattle Colonies in the Biafran states, which in actual fact were to be Boko Haram camps.

It was IPOB that battled them to a standstill that today none of those reserves have been establish. This is the man Nigerian evil men like Obasanjo urged Atiku Abubakar to choose as his Vice Presidential candidate and some foolish Igbo-Biafrans are already declaring their support for him without considering his heinous antecedent. To be honest, many people who call themselves Igbo-Biafrans need their heads thoroughly examined.

So, that Peter Obi is Nigerians’ perfect tool for the assignment his promoters appointed him (which is the final onslaught against Biafra) is not in doubt. What he has done in a smaller scale as a governor, he will do in a larger scale as a vice president. A man, who supervised the massacre of more than 2000 of his kinsmen for the political position of a governor, will also do far more deadly bargains to attain the vice presidential position. Thank God, not only that Biafrans will resist Peter Obi, they will make sure that the boycott of elections in Biafraland is successful because “Biafrans are not Nigerians; and Biafra is not Nigeria!”
