NIGERIA SECURITY AGENTS ABDUCTING AND SECRETLY KILLING INNOCENT IGBO YOUTHS AND TAGGING THEM UNKNOWN GUNMEN - IPOB

IPOB PRESS RELEASE  | The Biafra Times

June 9, 2021

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our indomitable leader ,Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wishes to place the world on notice, of the ongoing abductions and secret killings of Biafrans especially Igbo youths by the Nigeria security agents, and tagging them unknown gunmen. These compromised and Fulani-controlled security operatives move from house to house and abduct Igbo youths, whisk them away to their slaughter houses and later dump their corpses at mortuaries as unknown gunmen.

It is unfortunate that DCP Abba Kyari and co are killing cult members and forcing them to answer ESN and unknown gunmen, the man they are parading as ESN is not a ESN member and can never be, two months ago the two groups of cultists fought and killed each other and burnt two members to ashes but unfortunately one of them was caught at Owerri by Abba Kyari and his group and they tagged him ESN and unknown gunmen, what is absolutely wrong with Nigeria police and army in this country?

Because of this young man they were forced by police to answer ESN and unknown gunmen to deceive the gullible Nigerians who are not connected to information and attracted praises from the public. These terrorists in military and police uniforms are raiding communities and set people's houses ablaze claiming they are attacking ESN camps and hideouts. These two face security operatives in Nigeria are perpetrating evil and attacking individual houses in the name of fighting IPOB, ESN and unknown gunmen in Mbieri Mbaitoli LGA Imo State.

Nigerian security agencies led by DCP Abba Kyari have invaded three communities in Mbaitoli LGA in Imo State and burnt properties worth millions of Naira. We’re calling on Human Right organizations across the globe and other relevant stakeholders in the world to take record of what Nigerian army and police are doing in so many peaceful communities in Imo State because nobody should blame us by Time we start getting them down which is not far from now.

We have severally said that ESN stays in the forests where they are keeping their appointments with terrorists and killer herdsmen. Anyone looking for them should simply go to the forests and encounter them. Nigeria security agents should go to the bushes and face ESN they don't operate on the streets or cities, they must understand that we defeated Miyetti Allah and its terrorists herdsmen in our territory and now they disguised as Nigeria army and police in uniforms attacking our people and we will defeat them the way we defeated Miyetti Allah in no distance future.

How will the Nigeria security agents who cannot withstand bandits in the North be zealous in killing innocent Biafrans of Igbo extraction? These atrocities have been going on for too long but we won't tolerate it anymore.

We therefore, warn perpetrators of these evil agenda  to retrace their steps immediately or brace up for stiff resistance.

This is a secret genocide orchestrate by the Fulani-controlled federal government to depopulate Ndigbo before the coming of Biafra.

Despite the daily slaughter of security agents mainly of Southern origin in the North by bandits and terrorists, the Nigeria military or police has never embarked on mass arrest and secret killing of youths and residents of  the crime scene. It's unfortunate that the treacherous political class has kept mute over this atrocity. But IPOB cannot keep quiet.

The intention of the masterminds of this crime against humanity is to weaken the South East, and pave the way for its long-planned invasion by jihadists. But they will not succeed.

We promise them hell for this cowardly act of victimizing innocent Igbo youths for the activities of unknown gunmen. How many times have youths in Zamfara or Katsina or Kaduna been arrested and killed for the activities of bandits? Why is the Fulani controlled federal government treating the Igbo as slaves and the whole world is watching helplessly?

Imo prisonbreak: IPOB remains most peaceful freedom movement, violence-free

By Chijindu Benjamin Ukah |The Biafra Times

April 6, 2021

To the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu; "words of mouth," they say "is free," but I can tell you, "not all talks are free".

Accusing IPOB of attacking Imo state prison, without corroborate grounds, has shown your level of ineptitude, and lack of cognitive operations to be the Inspector General of a federation. More so, it has shown how much you despise the IPOB.

IGP Mohammed Adamu, can you prove beyond reasonable doubt, in a court of competent jurisdiction that IPOB attacked Imo prison?

It is obvious your sense of reasoning has been shaded by courtesy of "Fulani jihadism" conquest mission and you accuse IPOB for a every single act of stoppage from achieving your devilish mission in Biafra land.

It must be registered into your Fulani brain that IPOB remains the most peaceful freedom fighting outfit in the world. Everybody knows that (ESN) Eastern Security Network is only fighting the terrorists in the eastern bushes and farmland, who are raping our mothers, sisters, destroying our farm crops with their herds of cattle, and taking over our God-given land with AK47 rifles.

It is not unclear that the so-called unknown gunmen are yet "unknown" to all and sundry. However, it is your duty as the IGP to find out whom they actually are, and possibly meet with them, the way the bandits' "spokesperson," Sheik Gunmi did with the dreadful Fulani herders. Possibility exists that same bandits seeking amnesty are behind the serial attacks upon security agencies in the East; not excluding the recent Imo prisonbreak.

IGP, Mohammed Adamu, you must be mindful of the utterances you make against the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB; a movement of over 70 million people, and located in over 100 countries of the world. They are the 'most peaceful' freedom movement in Africa; even beyond.

The Escape of Michael O. Nwankpa, a Lesson for Biafrans in Nigeria Military

By Eluwa Chidiebere Chinazu | Biafra Writers

September 12, 2020

In life history often repeats itself. Those who gave deaf ears to this epic truth ended up becoming victims. Aguiyi Ironsi, Ken Saro Wiwa, Adaka Boro, Biafrans serving in the Nigerian military before the war and currently the Biafrans sent to fight Boko Haram, etc, are typical examples.

Michael O. Nwankpa, a Biafran serving in the Nigerian military is one among the few that escaped same fate before the war. He was serving in Kaduna. Though he escaped, his story could help the current Biafrans serving in the Nigerian military.

Michael was maintaining his oath of allegiance as a soldier to the federal republic of Nigeria. Even when his own people were being massacred, he remained resolute to the call of serving the Nigerian government in the capacity of a soldier.

I could call him a foolish uncle today had it been that he was among the many executed then. But he was a brave soldier who after escaping death at the hands of the northern army Generals, fought gallantly for his motherland Biafra.

According to my mother, a sister he was training in the school then, her elder soldier brother came home and there was a great jubilation in the family. A jubilation that my mother has never forgotten till date.

After the great jubilation, my uncle narrated how he escaped. According to him, all the Biafrans serving in that particular division he was in were held at a gunpoint and locked inside a hall. Luckily, he was not among those held.

Read Also: Angry reactions trail killing of IPOB members in Enugu

From his hideout he heard the footfalls of the Northern soldiers who were going about looking for the Biafrans among them.

When he figured out that his hideout was no longer safe, he changed location. In his new location he hid himself inside a Dustin container in the Barrack. He slept there for two days before the Dustin was taken away to be emptied. From there, he gained his freedom and headed back home.

He came back and aided his people in the Biafra war. My mother has never stopped to talk about the bullet wound her soldier brother sustained in his hand during the war. The family persuaded him to never go back to the war front again but he remained resolute and went back to fight.

Although he fought at the war front for the years the war lasted, he wasn’t killed in battle. However, a saboteur from his own community saw to his death when the war was coming to an end

This is one of the reasons I beckon on Biafrans to deal accordingly to the saboteurs (big and small) so as to send a strong warning to the upcoming ones.

By the makings of the Almighty God I am here now and will join the league of those that will fight to restore our dear nation, Biafra, which my great, brave and good-hearted uncle fought for. I shall do that for him.

Kanu's Parents Burial: The Floodgates of Hell Will Be Opened If You Carry Out Your Threat to Massacre Mourners - IPOB Warns Army, Police

IPOB PRESS RELEASE

February 12, 2020 | The Biafra Times

We the global family of the Indigenous of People of Biafra (IPOB) wish to reiterate in clear and unambiguous terms that what Nigerian police and army are planning to do in Afaraukwu during the burial of Eze Israel Okwu Kanu and his wife on Friday 14th of February 2020 will set off a chain reaction that Nigeria will never recover from. Common arbitrary arrest of any mourner this week Friday is capable of inciting a disproportionate reaction from angry mourners. IPOB is warning all agents of Nigerian government in Biafraland, traitors and caliphate slaves alike that what will befall CP Okon will also be their portion should shots be fired in Afaraukwu. The era of Nigerian army and police shooting innocent mourners in Biafraland has come to an end.

What is happening in Umuahia with the provocative presence of Nigerian army and police is an insult to the people of Biafra and the Igbo race in particular. All those that have in various ways supported the unprovoked murderous clampdown on IPOB will pay dearly for it. IPOB has remained peaceful but it seems the Nigerian government is hell-bent on provoking us into armed struggle that will inevitably precipitate the violent disintegration of Nigeria. Nigerians should call their government in Aso Rock to order and impress upon them the need for their army and police to steer clear of the whole of Umuahia township on February 14, 2020, in the interest of peace. They should head to the north where there are countless security challenges. We want to join the people of Afaraukwu in peacefully mourning the death of HRM Eze Sir I.O Kanu and his wife in peace, who it must be said died as a result of the Nigerian army and police invasion of their home on September 14, 2017

What Nigerian army and police are doing in Umuahia cannot happen in the north. We do not think the Alimajiri populations of the north will allow the burial of an Emir to be subjected to such needless tension and ridicule but in Biafraland anything goes because of the reign of puppets and quislings.

As we continue to receive daily threats from the army and police regarding their impending massacre of innocent mourners on Friday, February 14, let the world be on notice that the floodgates of hell will be opened should the army or police appear anywhere around Afaraukwu on the day of the burial. Let those that may feign ignorance of the fact be duly warned on time that burial ceremony is sacred in Igboland, especially that of a king, therefore the intended nuisance of Nigerian security personnel will not be tolerated on Friday.

We are aware that those behind the deadly invasion of September 2017 are the same people working with Aso Rock to bring mayhem to Umuahia on Friday. Out of public view, these politicians and so-called socio-cultural leaders have been offering financial support to Fulani soldiers in Obinze, Ohafia, Abakiliki, Onitsha, and Asa in readiness for their deadly deployment to Umuahia. Their plan is to kill as many people as possible to demoralise our leader and pave the way for a full-scale Fulani invasion and takeover of our land.

We are equally in the know of the numerous plans and strategies of the troops so far deployed by Buratai to the east in preparation for the burial of our first parents. It's quite obvious to the average reasonable person that IPOB will not succumb to their pressure regardless of the consequences. All their perfected plans to disrupt the burial on that very day is common knowledge among diplomatic circles all over the world who will be following the proceedings live on Biafra Television, social media, and Radio Biafra platforms. The plan by Nigeria's Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Tukur Buratai to use the burial ceremony of HRM Eze Israel Okwu Kanu to eliminate and kill anybody suspected to be IPOB supporter in Umuahia on Friday 14th of February 2020 is equally well known, documented and powers that be duly notified.

The burial service of our leader's parents HRM Eze Isreal Okwu Kanu and his wife Ugoeze Sally Mmeme Okwu Kanu on Friday at Afaraukwu Umuahia must hold peacefully. We want to make it abundantly clear that if the Police and Army fire a single bullet on that day there will be no peace for every soul involved, especially those that issued the order from the comfort of their offices in Abuja, Enugu, Owerri, and Umuahia. We need a peaceful funeral, the ancient laws of our land demand it and nobody should try IPOB.

IPOB is strategically monitoring every individual politician in the South East and governors over their actions and inactions towards this burial on Friday. All those who may have joined the Fulani boy-boy CP Ene Okon of Abia State to encourage Fulani soldiers to come to Afaraukwu to kill people on Friday will pay very dearly for their actions.

It is unfortunate that some Igbo politicians and their supporters would encourage Fulani terrorists and Boko Haram soldiers recruited in Nigeria Army and Police to kill our people in a funeral ceremony, a sacrilegious act that has never happened before in the history of Igboland, Biafra, and Nigeria. Every Biafran must be prepared this time, IPOB would not allow these marauders to repeat what they did in Umuahia on September 2017 in this 2020 and definitely not during the burial of the parents of our leader. Nigerian army and police must stay away from Umuahia as a whole.

We are informing every mourner attending the burial on Friday to conduct him/herself in a manner consistent with the noble ideals of our ancestors. All approach to Umuahia is rigged with CCTV cameras to monitor human and vehicular traffic because IPOB won't accept any confusion or misunderstanding from anybody.

Biafra independence and freedom is inevitable and nobody born by a mere mortal can stop it.

COMRADE EMMA POWERFUL MEDIA AND PUBLICITY SECRETARY FOR IPOB.

Nnamdi Kanu, the Perplexity that Hit Nigeria

February 11, 2020 | The Biafra Times

By Victoria. O.C. Agangan | Biafra Writers

Nigerians will not forget in a hurry this phenomenon that struck like earthquake and shattered the dumbness and pending doom hanging like pendant on her decaying neckline. The APC government will forever regret murdering sons and daughters of Biafra for no offense other than demanding for Biafra. History will not vindicate the greedy political thieves and Fulani slaves who betrayed and ratted on their own; they sold out as in the days of slave trade for crumbs and leftovers.

As the struggle continues and the procession progresses, so will they be stumped into shock and helplessly watch Biafra come. The demonic Operation Python Dance that gulped innocent souls, eventually claiming, by trauma, the lives of His Royal Highness, Eze Israel Okwu Kanu of Afaraukwu Ibeku, and his lovely wife, Her Royal Highness Lolo Sally Ugoeze Meme Kanu, is still hovering like a kite looking for preys.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has perplexed the Nigerian government with his continuous breakthroughs, outspokenness, and persistence. Even with his parents lying in the mortuary, Kanu has waxed stronger; quite unrelenting and resolved. This uncommon spirit of doggedness Biafrans must emulate.

READ ALSO: Stop Issuing Irrelevant Threat to Mourners - IPOB Warns CP Okon

As we speak, the Nigerian army has laid siege at Afaraukwu – Kanu’s hometown – waiting to suck, like hungry vampires, the blood of Biafrans who will dare to attend the burial rites of Kanu’s parents. From all corners of perception, this is an open declaration of war. Well, self-defense is legal anywhere in the world. To have ourselves prepared is, therefore, an urgent call. Umunna di nu na njikere, n'ihi na nkucha aburo ujo.

They have gathered to suck our blood. They have gathered to feed on our flesh. They have gathered to unleash sorrow on us.  But as the Bible says, surely they shall gather, but because their gathering is not of God, they shall scatter. Yes, the murderous Nigerian army has gathered like the Philistines, but then, a David is on the way.

Nigeria is on the verge of demise. She is collapsing. Soon, bans will hit her like never before. Bans will flow in like a river soonest. Her troubles will escalate and her economy sunk. Biafrans must, therefore, remain focused for our victory is around at the corner.

On a final note, those going for the burial are hereby advised to be prepared for any eventuality. Nwanne sie onwegi esie. The Vultures gathering at Afaraukwu eat living humans; do not become their prey please.

Oraifite Mayhem: Restrain and refrain from arresting Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Federal High Court ordered Nigerian security agencies

December 24, 2019

By Nwamgba Amah | Biafra Writers

Awka - Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who was declared wanted by the Anambra State Commissioner of Police John Abang on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, in connection with the alleged murder of two police officers in Oraifite, Ekwusigo LGA of the state has gotten a temporary respite as the Federal High Court in the State ordered the security agencies to restrain and refrain from arresting him in compliance with the order of the court.

The court also ordered the security agencies to maintain the status quo pending the hearing of the plaintiff motion on notice and also to put the plaintiff, all the defendants on notice before the hearing of the substantive suit which was adjourned till Friday, December 27, 2019.

Barrister Ejiofor's persecution was perceived as an indirect attack on his person due to his involvement with IPOB as the counsel to group and lawyer to its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

A group of lawyers under the auspices of Victims of Persecution has written to the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willy Obiano over the urgent need to set up a commission of inquiry to investigate the gruesome and callous incident that took place at Oraifite, Ekwusigo LGA, Anambra state.

The copies of the petition which was made available to Biafra Writers and transcripted read thus;

Friday, 20th December 2019
His Excellency,
Chief Willy Obiano
Governor. Anambra State

Thro: The Anambra State  Liaison Office Abuja

 Dear Your Excellency

The Oraifite".... utter carnage"

URGENT NEED FOR YOUR OFFICE TO SET UP A COMMISSION OF INQUIRY

We of the Victims of  Persecution deeply sympathize with your Excellency, the Government and People of Anambra State over the recent gruesome and callous incidence at Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Area of Anambra State.

Four bodies/persons have described it from their different gory perspectives:

  1. The Oraifite Improvement 'union in a Public Statement described it as:  "...scene of utter carnage"
  2. This is how the Nigerian Police put: "...set ablaze one Patrol vehicle and attacked them with rifles and machetes. And as a result two police officers... were killed... while others were inflicted with machete cuts"
  3. I.C. Ejiofor, Esq. in his letter dated 9th December 2019 to your Excellency highlighted as follows: "... the police under Anambra State Police Command and other security agents brutally invaded and set ablaze my premises in Oraifite Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State and consequently killed six unarmed Civilians on the 2nd December 2019
  4.  Finally, one of the highly informed NGOs. International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of law at page 5 (Paras. 4 & 5) of its letter (REF: INTERSOC:OO1/12/19/OSGF/ABJ/NG) & dated Monday 16th December 2019 submitted:

 Para. 4
"Surprisingly at about 10.30am same morning, truck-loads of armed police personnel comprising of the operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), Ichi Unit and others had besieged the Lawyer's family compound and violently broke into same. As a result, verbal exchanges ensued between them and a handful of domestic staff and volunteers who were tidying up the compound and watching over the environment. They were all unarmed. The armed SARS operatives.. .opened fire after being told that the Lawyer was not at home and likely on his way to honor the invitation from the same Area Commander. Police bullets rained in all directions, forcing many including members of the neighborhood to run for safety.

Para. 5
Resisted by some of the volunteers through anti bullet charms, the armed police personnel became deadlier and resorted to grabbing and hitting them with metals and thick planks. In the end, four defenseless citizens were killed and others sustained various degrees of gunshot wounds. Eyewitnesses said two of the dead victims were rescued by their colleagues and hidden while the police made away with two others who were later set ablaze with a police van hundreds of meters away from Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor's family compound. Police also said they lost two officers (an ACP and an ASP) during the
attack.... .. "

All the four above (though each from entirely from different and divergent interrogations) portend sorrow for the despicable and avoidable loss of human life and property. Thomas Jefferson, former President of the United States of America once said

  • "The care of human life and happiness. and not their destruction is the first and only objective of good government."
In fact, this is how Section 33 (1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria. 1999 (as amended) put it:
  • "Every person has a right to life, and no one shall be deprived intentionally of his life, save in execution of the sentence of a court..."
This is in addition to the Constitutional powers of the Anambra State House of Assembly under Section 4(7) of our Constitution:
  •  ..to make laws for the peace. order and good government of the State or any part thereof with respect to the following matters..."
Emphasis ours.

(c) any other matter with respect to which it is empowered to make laws in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution)

In furtherance to the above constitutional power and duty "... to make laws for the peace. order and good government of the State or any part thereof..." the Anambra State House of Assembly has set the tempo for the equitable resolution of matters of this ugly nature by having creditably enacted the Anambra State Commission of Inquiry Law, CAP 31.

Your Excellency. our Constitution via Section 5(2) mandates your office as follows:

Subject to the provisions of this Constitution,.. the executive powers of  a State
  • (a) Shall be vested in the Governor of the State... and"
  • (b) shall extend to the execution and maintenance of this Constitution, all laws made by the House of Assembly of the State and to all matters with respect to which the House of Assembly has for the time being power to make laws.)

Your Excellency (as the Chief Executive Of the Laws of Anambra State etc.), we recommend to you the immutable words Of Wilson Woodrow;
"There is no higher religion than human service. To  work for the common good is the greatest creed".
To this effect. we of the Victims Of Persecution request your Excellency to urgently set up a Commission of Inquiry over The Oraifite"... utter carnage". The real essence of humanity and government is to stand up for who can no longer stand up for themselves. No one should be unlawfully cut down like footpath grasses.

Yours Sincerely,

Chukwuma-Machukwu Ume, SAN
Rapporteur
Victims of Persecution

IPOB sends goodwill message to Biafrans and friends of Biafra, warns corrupt politicians

December 20, 2019 | The Biafra Times

IPOB PRESS RELEASE

We the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) wish to felicitate and commend  Biafrans, friends of Biafra and lovers of freedom over their resoluteness, determination and support in the ongoing righteous agitation for the restoration of the nation of Biafra, especially in this season of goodwill. We are equally wishing a happy holiday season to all media houses, both print and electronic, online platforms as well as e-warriors and bloggers for their courage and often unbiased reportage in the face of unrelenting dictatorial onslaught and shrinking of civic space in Nigeria. They are the true heroes in this divine effort to enthrone freedom, justice, and fairness for all ethnic groups in Nigeria. IPOB agitation is not just for the liberation and well-being of Biafrans alone but for the betterment of every living soul unfortunate enough to be trapped in the cesspit of corruption, backwardness, hardship, and totalitarianism that Nigeria has become.

We IPOB are warning all corrupt Lagos/Abuja politicians and groups who were involved in the conspiracy with Fulani cabals to bring RUGA and Fulani military into our land as a way of silencing IPOB, reducing our population and intimidating us into accepting the Fulanisation of our way of life, to retrace their steps. We caution them to stay away from anything that may cast them in bad light given that our people are highly upset and would not hesitate to vent their anger on any person or group of persons found to be a Fulani collaborator.

It is in the interest of these traitors to stay away from Biafraland because they would bear the consequences of any move by the Fulani to force our land to become volatile to justify their murderous military occupation. We are well aware of the antics of core Arewa north and their current effort to intensify their divide and rule strategy in Biafraland by constantly seeking to pigeon-hole us into a meaningless South South and South East when they have one monolithic political North dominated by the wandering Fulani tribe. IPOB by successfully uniting all the people of the Eastern region and Mid-West has brought this terrible era of Fulani divide and rule internal colonisation in the Middle Belt and South to an end.

In this season of goodwill, we call on our people who wish to come home from abroad to do so because there will be no hiding place for any criminal in uniform or their informants that may seek to bring harm to our people. Biafraland is peaceful and will continue to remain so until Biafra independence is duly and finally restored.

Nigeria government and her security operatives will be compelled in due course to dismantle all their extortionate Police, Army, Road Safety, Customs, and Civil Defense Corps checkpoints along major roads into Biafraland. Nigeria Army and Police should take their security checkpoints to the north where there is raging Fulani induced insurgency and soldiers are being slaughtered like animals. Also, the dictatorial and lawless Nigerian government must stop their usual killing, abduction, intimidation, and humiliation of commuters during this festive period as every death, disappearance or abduction of any Biafran will attract a commensurate response from the public.

COMRADE EMMA POWERFUL MEDIA AND PUBLICITY SECRETARY FOR IPOB.

Police Terror: IPOB Still Awaiting Evidence against its Lawyer, Barrister Ejiofor

December 19, 2019

By Eluwa Chidiebere Chinazu | Biafra Writers

Recall that on the 2nd of December, 2019, a combined team of Nigerian military and police invaded the home of Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, burning down houses, killing four, and leaving many with severe bullet wounds. The major target, Barrister Ejiofor, being missed, the murderous police team has declared him wanted.

Trying to defend self from public backlash, the police claimed that they invaded the barrister’s home on charges of kidnap, adding that the legal practitioner is a member of IPOB … as if belonging to IPOB is somehow a crime.

Reacting to the calumny against the counsel to its Supreme Leader, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, through its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, has challenged the police to provide evidence in support of their false claim. The public is still awaiting the evidence. Clarifying matters further, Comrade Powerful had maintained that Barrister Ejiofor is merely a counsel to IPOB and its Supreme Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and not a member of the freedom-seeking group.

It beats one how the police came out with a press statement that they got a complaint that Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor engaged in abduction and assault which occasioned harm and malicious damage cannot provide the complainant and the victim.

When state security forces turn around to terrorize those they are meant to protect, nothing but doom awaits the country. Nigeria, from all indications, will soon be referred to in the past.

Oraifite Mayhem: Demand for a joint investigation board, dismissal of CP Abang John and others over professional misconduct - Intersociety

December 17, 2019 | The Biafra Times

Why We Wrote SGF & PSC Demanding For A Joint Investigation Board Into The Oraifite Mayhem & Dismissal Of CP Abang John (fdc) & Others Over Professional Misconducts

The Int’l Society for Civil Liberties & Rule of Law-INTERSOCIETY, yesterday, 16th Dec 2019 sent two detailed letters to Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Barr Boss Gidahyelda Mustapha and Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Retired IGP Musiliu Smith. In the detailed letter to the SGF, we demanded for A Joint Investigation Board into the Oraifite-Anambra Police and Army Mayhem of 2nd Dec 2019 so as to establish ‘criminal’ and ‘civil’ involvements and their ‘service’ and ‘civil’ parties; with the overall aim of ensuring justice to the victims, justice to the society including deterrence and the peace loving people of Oraifite; and justice to the perpetrators or ‘criminal parties’.

In the second letter to the PSC, we specifically demanded for investigation of CP John Abang, ACP Oliver I. Inoma-Abbey, CSP Alexander Chigozie Onwuka, ASP Joseph Akubo and other police officers that vicariously or directly took part in the catastrophic mayhem. The PSC investigation under demand is for purpose of ascertaining the enormity of professional misconducts of the named officers and their immediate dismissal from the NPF if found culpable.

The two detailed letters, referenced: INTERSOC:001/12/19/OSGF/ABJ/NG and NTERSOC:002/12/19/PSC/ABJ/NG, dated same 16th Dec 2019, were signed by Lawyers Obianuju Igboeli, Head of Civil Liberties & Rule of Law, Chinwe Umeche, Head of Democracy & Good Governance and Ndidiamaka Bernard Chinaza, Head of Int’l Justice & Human Rights; and Emeka Umeagbalasi, a Criminologist & Master of Science, Peace Studies & Conflict Resolution and Chair of the Board of Intersociety. The Principal Officers also signed this statement. The letters have since been successfully delivered to their recipients through offline and online modes. They were also copied to the Attorney General of the Federation, Barr Abubakar Malami, SAN.

“In the Oraifite catastrophic mayhem, the Nigeria Police and their partners in crime including soldiers gravely messed up and acted abominably and atrociously; and having realized the quantum of ‘service’ atrocities perpetrated including massive burning and destruction of properties, they hurriedly resorted to ‘frame-ups’ and ‘collateral atrocities’ so as to escape justice and moral damnation. Remember similar service atrocities in Sept 2017 in Abia State when having realized the gravity and enormity of atrocities perpetrated against the defenseless citizens of the State including massacre and maiming of hundreds in three days, the Defense Headquarters and the Federal Government hurriedly declared the victim group (IPOB) a “terrorist group” so as to escape local and int’l justice. Unless all the ‘service’ perpetrators in the Oraifite mayhem are fished out and punished accordingly, otherwise, such ‘service’ atrocities will become a routine or operational tradition in the Nigerian security and defense establishments”, Emeka Umeagbalasi, a criminology and security graduate and head of Intersociety said today.

SGF’s Powers & Functions Upon Which We Wrote

The letter to the SGF was in recognition of powers and functions so vested, numbering fifteen. The SGF is also a creation of Section 171 (2) (a) of the Constitution of Nigeria 1999 as amended. The Powers and functions of the SGF important and relevant in the instant case include: serving as (a) Secretary to the Council of State or Federal Executive Council, (b) coordinating the activities of Ministries and Government Agencies on the implementation of Government decisions, policies and programs, in addition to dealing with constitutional, political and socio-economic matters as may be referred to by the Presidency; and (c) coordinating Administrative Tribunals (or Investigation Board), Commissions and Panels of Enquiry; and national security and safety matters.

‘Joint Investigation Board In Our Mind’ & Its Terms Of Reference

The ‘Joint Investigation Board’ under request is not ‘a Commission of Enquiry’ or ‘a Judicial Commission of Enquiry’, which is or are ‘toothless bulldog’ and ‘time wasting’. Ours is ‘a Joint Investigation Board’ with ‘criminal elements’ and ‘civil elements’ content and functionality; to be subdivided into ‘criminal’ and ‘civil’ investigations sub boards. Members of the ‘criminal investigation sub board’ shall be drawn (not monopolize) from ‘DMI’, ‘SSS’, ‘Force CID’, ‘Office of the National Security Adviser’ and ‘the Police Service Commission’ and may further include ‘civil’ or independent criminologists, criminal lawyers, ‘crime investigative journalists’ and intelligence experts.

The ‘criminal’ investigation sub board shall have specific task of ascertaining ‘criminal involvements and their degrees’ by ‘service’ and ‘civil’ parties. ’Service’ Parties to be thoroughly investigated include the Anambra State Commissioner of Police (John Abang), the Oraifite Area Commander (Oliver I. Inoma-Abbey), the Oraifite DPO (CSP Alexander Chigozie Onwuka), the OC/SARS, Ichi (ASP Joseph Akubo), the Commander of Onitsha 302 Artillery (Brig Gen Yukubu Bwala) and all the Police and Army sub commanders and combatants that participated in the mayhem.

The ‘civil’ parties and circumstances to be investigated or ascertained include (a) the Otu-Eke and the Otu-Afor Oraifite Masquerade clash/violence of Saturday, 30th Nov 2019 (from where the Police first allegations of: ‘abduction’, ‘assault occasioning body harm’ and ‘malicious damage to properties’ emanated), (b) Emeka Offor (mentioned and indicted in the Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor’s petition to the Nigerian Bar Association and important others), (c) Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor (the chief victim), (d) domestic staff and volunteers left in the Ejiofors’ compound to tidy up the compound and items used during the family’s funeral ceremony, (e) Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor’s elder brother, Evangelist Emeka Ejiofor (the key eyewitness) and (f) other eyewitnesses who may volunteer to speak or can be independently identified.

Others are (g) circumstances surrounding the ‘service’ killing of no fewer than four defenseless citizens in the Ejiofors’ compound and the whereabouts of their corpses, (h) claims by the Police of killing of ACP Oliver Inoma-Abbey and ASP Joseph Akubo including whether truly they were killed and if true, when, where and how they were they killed; and the whereabouts of their bodies, (i) true identities of the two unidentified citizens killed and set ablaze in a police van, stage-managed and dramatized by the Police hundreds of meters away from Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor’s compound and the ‘service’ identities of those who killed and set them ablaze, (j) properties burnt or destroyed and the ‘service’ identities of those who burnt or destroyed them, (k) the remote and immediate circumstances surrounding the early morning and late morning surveillance and violent invasions of the Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor’s family compound by the Oraifite Area Commander and his DPO; later joined to perpetrate the unspeakable mayhem by the Ichi SARS operatives, their OC and others including soldiers of the Onitsha Army Cantonment.

The ‘civil investigation sub board’ shall have responsibility to unmask the ‘civil elements or involvements’ in the unspeakable mayhem including number of properties such as dwelling houses, street trading stores, house-hold properties, domestic livestock and automobiles burnt or destroyed; extent of their burning or destruction, location(s) and ownership of the burnt or destroyed properties, their current market value, ‘service’ and civil persons or parties (if any) openly involved, persons or authorities to be responsible for their rebuilding or replacement or compensation, and any other such civil findings necessary. Members of the ‘civil’ investigation sub board shall be drawn from Your Honor’s Office and others; the standing oversight committees in the Senate and the House of Reps including Police, National Security, Defense, Army, Intelligence and justice.

What Must Be Done With The Joint Investigation Outcomes

Unlike the ‘toothless bull dog’ patterns and trends associated with ‘Administrative’ or ‘Judicial Panels or Commissions of Inquiry’ in Nigeria or any part thereof, the Joint Investigation Board of our preference shall have their outcomes perused, separated and divided into ‘criminal findings’ and ‘civil findings’. All the ‘service persons or authorities’ criminally indicted no matter how highly placed must be arrested, disengaged from their ‘service agencies’ and prosecuted by the Attorney General of the Federation.

The ‘civil findings’, on the other hand, shall address the issues of rebuilding all the burnt properties or commensurate monetary compensations to their owners; written apologies to the wronged including the chief victim (Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor) and all members of his nuclear and extended family so affected, adequate compensations to the families of the slain and the wounded as well as incorporation of the lessons learnt into the country’s operational security and safety policies particularly the now ‘routinized’ ‘service’ wanton burning or destruction of properties belonging to members of the public on account of allegation of death of ‘service’ officers in the line of their illegitimate or otherwise duties. To ensure maximum success, we are ready to assist where necessary particularly to ensure fair hearing and fair treatment for all the parties involved.

In our second letter to the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, INTERSOCIETY strongly demanded for thorough and impartial investigation of the involvement(s) and roles of the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang, the Oraifite Area Commander, ACP Oliver Inoma-Abbey, the Divisional Police Officer of the Oraifite Divisional Police Station, CSP Alexander Chigozie Onwuka, the Officer-in-Charge of the Ichi Unit of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), ASP Joseph Akubo and other police officers who vicariously or directly participated in the catastrophic Mayhem. They shall be investigated and sanctioned, if culpable, whether living or dead.

Oraifite Killing: Deadly intent to eliminate Nnamdi Kanu's lawyer failed; Police resort to falsehood and deception

Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, IPOB counsel and lawyer to Nnamdi Kanu

December 3, 2019 | The Biafra Times

 IPOB PRESS RELEASE

The unprovoked Nigeria police and army invasion of the home of our lawyer Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor barely four days after the painful burial of his senior brother is proof that those running Nigeria have descended into the abyss of iniquity from which they may never recover. Not even during the darkest days of Abacha's dictatorship did anyone witness such brazen intimidation of a legal counsel or the attempted assassination of a defence counsel in a high profile case.

It is the golden rule of every legal system under the Sun that defence counsels are not harassed, intimidated or killed but it seems under this Fulani dictatorship of Abba Kyari led cabal, nothing is sacrosanct. We don't expect the roundly docile and cowardly Nigeria Bar Association or their impotent and subdued National Judicial Council to rise up in condemnation of this contemptuous behaviour by Aso Rock in this latest attempt to kill Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor. This level of dictatorial impunity against the rule of law, judicial process and natural justice must not be condoned by any right-thinking person.

In their usual predictable manner, the Fulani run Nigerian Police through their Public Relations Officer one Haruna Mohammed in Anambra State have issued a self-incriminating statement ladden with blatant lies, falsehood and deception. For the police to say there was a criminal complaint against Barrister Ejiofor bothering on assault and kidnapping four days after the funeral of his brother is most stupid and laughable. Criminal complaint from who? Who did he kidnap, the body of his dead brother? Who did he assault, Justice Binta Nyako? Where, when and how did he commit these crimes? The Nigeria Police never wrote to Barrister Ejiofor neither did they invite him to their station. This is a black lie. If they did, they should release the call log of the phone they claim they used in calling him. Does the Nigerian Police think the public is as daft as they are? The only reason for this unprovoked criminal invasion with deadly intent is to kill Barrister Ejiofor and to stop him from attending Federal High Court Abuja next month where he has all but defeated the Attorney General in the matter of Federal Government of Nigeria versus IPOB because Nigeria has no case against IPOB. The same strategy of invade and kill doctrine they deployed in Isiama-Afaraukwu the home of our leader on 14 September 2017 a month before he is due in court is what played out in Oraifite yesterday.

The Nigeria Police claim two of their officers were killed by IPOB members but there were four dead bodies in the burnt-out police vehicle. What any investigative journalist worth his salt should ask is, who are the other two victims, where did they come from and what were they doing in a police van? Answers to these questions will reveal that Nigeria Police Command in Anambra State are unrepentant liars. The truth remains that Nigeria Police and Army went to the home of Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor with the sole purpose to kill him before next month's court date as is now their tradition. On getting there they opened fire on unarmed civilians as usual and the two men that came out of the house were shot dead instantly. The police carried their dead and dying bodies into their van to conceal evidence and drove off. These are facts backed by evidence Anambra Police cannot deny.

After killing two unarmed and innocent civilians, before they left the police doused Barrister Ejiofor's home with petrol and set it on fire. This was the reality yesterday in Oraifite Anambra State. It was the carelessness of the police in handling the petrol they used to drench Barrister Ejiofor's home and nearby businesses before setting them on fire that trailed back and led to the fire that gutted their van.

It is on record that IPOB remains a peaceful movement, therefore, this latest desperate attempt by this lying Fulani controlled Nigeria Police to equate our activities with their home-grown Miyetti Allah (Fulani herdsmen) terrorist organisation is a waste of time.

Nigerian Police and Army invade the home of my lawyer in Anambra state, two people killed, many injured - Mazi Nnamdi Kanu

December 2, 2019 | The Biafra Times

By Mazi Nnamdi Kanu

Confirmed reports indicate that a combined team of Nigeria police and military assassination squad invaded the home of my lawyer Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor in Oraifite Anambra State this morning Monday, December 2, 2019, in a bid to kill him and his family. Sadly three innocent Biafrans were killed by this invading Fulani force at his residence.

This comes on the heel of yet another killing of two IPOB family members who were peacefully gathered in Arondizuogu yesterday 1 December. Their bodies are still in the morgue. Fulani caliphate police and army must know that the time is fast approaching when British diplomatic clout and protection may not be enough to shield them from the consequences of their daily crimes against innocent Biafrans. Attacking the home of my lawyer is a step too far and the only effect it will have is to hasten the disintegration of Nigeria.

There is a United Nations Mission, US Embassy, British High Commission and other highbrow foreign diplomatic presence in Nigeria who should take note of this ugly development and convey same to their home countries. It is their responsibility to ensure this wanton brutality, lawlessness and anarchy being engineered by the Fulani caliphate led by Abba Kyari's government against the people of Biafra is duly noted for what it is, an act of war.

Those responsible for this deadly assault know they will pay dearly for it, they know, its only a matter of time.

IPOB issues statement over frivolous utterance by Abia CP Ene Okon

November 30, 2019 | THE BIAFRA TIMES

IPOB PRESS RELEASE

It seems this caliphate servant in police uniform named CP Okon wants to use the name of our most revered leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to be noticed as the slave he is in order to advance his career, the same way another slave called "Justice" John Tsoho used the privilege of presiding over the sham trial of our leader to become the Chief Judge of Federal High Court of Nigeria.

Before this Okon came, there were other loud-mouthed southern police commissioners in Abia that sought to impress their Alimajiri masters by making unedifying and unguarded utterances against our leader and the indomitable IPOB family. The same way they sunk into oblivion is exactly the same way this talkative will be quickly consigned to the scrapheap of used and discarded unthinking caliphate servants from the south. He is not the first and neither will he be the last.

IPOB is not in the business of responding to incompetent lowly ranked officers of a failed, shameless, uncivilised and discredited colonial disgrace like Nigeria. IPOB is an international movement currently engaged in international diplomacy to drive home the need to put the long-suffering ethnic nationalities the British herded together into their failed experiment in Nigeria out of the primitive stranglehold of the eternally backward Arewa core north. An inconsequential and roundly incompetent local police operative blabbing away from a poorly maintained office in a dilapidated building in Umuahia is not worthy of an intelligent response from the great IPOB. However, it is important we inform the Fulani masters of this Okon that Biafra is resonating all over the world today thanks to IPOB. All the years of threats and brutal crackdowns have all resulted in making IPOB more defiant, determined and ruthless in our pursuit of the noble goal of Biafra liberation. The foolish comment in the Sun newspaper of the 30th of November attributed to this CP Okon is something he will come to regret.

If the military might of the Alimajiri Nigerian north, grand conspiracy of the judiciary and mind-numbing treachery of Okezie Ikpeazu, other Igbo governors and Ohaneze could not stop IPOB, how much less an unknown Fulani boy-boy in police uniform in Umuahia.

South-East commuters lament extortion, high level of intimidation by soldiers

November 10, 2019 | The Biafra Times

Raphael Ede

Enugu - Commuters and drivers plying various roads in the South-East have lamented the high level of intimidation and extortion by soldiers at checkpoints.

Some of them, who spoke to PUNCH Metro, said the worst was that anybody making calls close to the checkpoints were having their phones seized, smashed on the road or required to pay between N500 and N1,500 to retrieve the phones.

In some cases, commuters and drivers of such vehicles are detained for hours before they are released after much pleading.

A commuter, who identified himself as Victor Okonkwo, who witnessed the atrocities of the soldiers recently, narrated his experience to our correspondent on Monday.

He said, “On Tuesday, October 22, 2019, I was returning from Owerri in a Sienna car and there were seven passengers in the vehicle. When we got to the Ihe community, one of the passengers received a call and he was on that call till we got to a military checkpoint near the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital.

“The man got the shock of his life when a soldier spotted him and seized his phone for answering a call while passing by the checkpoint. He paid N500 to retrieve his phone after we had spent over an hour begging the soldiers. There were more than 10 mobile phones seized from other commuters by the soldiers, while the owners were there begging for leniency.”

Okonkwo stated that he had experienced the cruelty of the soldiers in 2014 at the same checkpoint, even as he said he heard that soldiers at other checkpoints around Enugu State boundaries were committing similar atrocities.

He said, “I was coming back from Owerri in a bus with other passengers. On getting to the military checkpoint near the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, a lady’s phone was seized and smashed on the road for answering a call while passing through the checkpoint.

“There was a similar incident, when a passenger’s phone was seized by soldiers for also answering a call; it took the intervention of the driver and some commuters before the phone was returned to the owner.

“This is what commuters experience on a daily basis in the hands of soldiers at the checkpoints.”

Checks by PUNCH Metro revealed that the soldiers had devised other means of collecting money from drivers and commuters at the checkpoints, as they now commission young men from the communities, who act as fronts to collect money on their behalf.

A source, who witnessed an incident a few months ago, narrated how a young man was shot dead by soldiers in the Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.

According to the source, a drama played out on the day of the incident when a military officer spotted the man collecting money at the checkpoint on behalf of the soldiers.

When accosted, the soldiers denied ever knowing the young man.

“One of the officers immediately ordered one of the soldiers to shoot the tax collector for denting their image and he was instantly shot dead. My greatest surprise is that till today, those soldiers have not been held accountable for the gruesome murder of the young man. Many of such cases have gone the same way without anyone being held accountable.”

It is the same story at almost all the military checkpoints in the boundaries of Enugu-Ebonyi, Enugu-Nsukka, Enugu-Obollo-Afor, and the Enugu-Awka-Onitsha Expressway. Extortion, intimidation and outright corporal punishment are the hallmark of the checkpoints.

“Are we in a war situation that somebody receiving phone calls cannot pass by military checkpoints in the South-East without harassment and intimidation and our so-called leaders are not talking?” a commuter asked.

When the Nigerian Army Human Rights Desk was contacted, there was no response as the phone rang out.

When the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 82 Division, Enugu, Col. Aliyu Yusuf, was contacted, he said in a text message, “Good afternoon, inform the affected persons to call and give details for further necessary action immediately.”
