Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Writes president Joe Biden, over request for military assistance by Buhari

May 7, 2021 | The Biafra Times

Honorable Joe Biden,

President,

United States of America,

The White House,

Washington DC.

Re: REQUEST FOR UNITED STATES MILITARY ASSISTANCE BY PRESIDENT MOHAMMADU BUHARI OF NIGERIA

Dear Mr. President:

We, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) applaud your election as President of the United States, the most powerful office in the history of the world. We salute your adept and muscular discharge of presidential duties during your tenure in the White House.

Mr President, as you consider Buhari’s request for military assistance to Nigeria, we respectfully urge you to also consider the following:

1. President Buhari has made Nigeria the most dangerous country in the world for Christians, Jews and Nigeria’s indigenous peoples, particularly those of the former Republic of Biafra. Hundreds of thousands are routinely plundered, tortured or killed with impunity by Nigerian security forces controlled and populated by Buhari's Fulani Islamic tribesmen, often in collaboration with Fulani herdsmen (Islamist terrorist group that has been internationally branded the 4th deadliest terrorist grouping in the world). These atrocities have been confirmed and published by US State Department in its various Human Rights Reports on Nigeria, by Amnesty International and other credible bodies. The US Commission on International Religious Freedom has recommended listing Nigeria as a country of concern because of its religious oppressions. United States sales or transfers of weapons to Nigeria to fight Boko Haram are diverted to killing and terrorizing Christians and Jews. The Nigerian army, which leadership is Fulani and Islamist is complicit in these illicit transfers.

2. President Buhari is promoting radical Islam in secular Nigeria. He has endorsed Sharia law in twelve northern Nigerian states. He has treated Boko Haram with kid gloves, releasing from detention hundreds arrested by the previous administration. He recruited them into Nigerian army and offered generous foreign scholarship to hundreds of them. He has appointed radical Muslims to head every security agency in Nigeria, including Sheik Isa Pantami whose profuse support for Al Qaeda and Taliban was widely published recently. Yet, Mr Buhari has refused to sack him from his sensitive position as Minister of Communication overseeing the biometric data of Nigerians. By defending Sheik Pantami, Mr Buhari is seemingly aligning with Mr Pantami’s terrorist sympathies. Mr Buhari is a strong ally of the Islamic Republic of Iran and China; and he has generally pursued policies that put Nigeria at odds with US national interest since you came to office.

3. President Buhari is conducting a genocidal campaign against tens of millions of Christians and Jews, particularly those indigenous to the former Republic of Biafra. These include mass killings, torture, and the destruction of Christian schools, churches and Jewish synagogues. He has arbitrarily branded and terrorized the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a nonviolent group pursuing the Independence of the former Republic of Biafra. Mr Buhari’s draconian measures were geared to retaliating against peaceful demonstrations favoring the restoration of Biafran independence that was cruelly extinguished by a genocidal military campaign Buhari partly led between 1967 and 1970.  He has concocted treason charges against IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu to crush Biafran self-determination, despite the fact that self-determination is legal under Nigerian law. Mr. Buhari’s demonic rule is convulsing Nigeria and creating new safe havens for radical Islamic terrorists that pose potent threat to US interests, from the Sahel to the Gulf of Guinea.

Prayers:

1, We respectfully suggest that you consider, among other things, denying weapons sales or transfers to Nigeria under the Leahy Amendment; listing Nigeria complicit in persecuting Christian and Jews under the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act.

2, We respectfully urge Mr President to invoke particularly Section 620M of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (FAA), as amended, which prohibits the furnishing of assistance authorized by the FAA and the Arms Export Control Act to any foreign security force unit where there is credible information that the unit has committed a gross violation of human rights.

In conclusion, we state categorically that the national interests of the United States lie in protecting Christians and Jews in Nigeria, defeating radical Islam and preventing instability in West Africa which will altogether be enhanced by a US-led diplomatic pressure on the Nigerian government to - as a matter of urgency - agree to a UN-supervised referendum on Biafran Independence.

We wish you and your family many wonderful years in the White House.

Sincerely,

Press Release: Biafra shall be restored, sooner than later, amidst the rapidly killing of JudeoChristians & Islamizing Nigeria - IPOB

IPOB PRESS RELEASE | THE BIAFRA TIMES

July 3, 2020

In this time of extreme distress for JudeoChristians in a rapidly Islamizing Nigeria, it brings some comfort to post these information to state the certainty that Biafra shall be restored, sooner than later. As buttressed in society, Israel was wiped off the map in 70AD, until it came back in 1947. Ukraine was wiped off the map in 1917, until it came back in 1990.

East Timor was wiped off the map in 1879 until it came back in 2000. Albania, North Macedonia were all wiped off the map, but they all returned. Elterea which was previously wiped off the map has returned too. But today, a typical Janjaweed from the Sahel and a wayward chameleon from the West conspired to stand against the full restoration of Biafra because of what they are gaining from the Fulani controlled government of Nigeria.

They represent darkness and darkness never prevailed over light. The light of Africa is Biafra. Satan is using the Janjaweed and Afonja descendants to fight a battle but victory is ours.
We are calling on Jude-Christians in Nigeria to stand up against the upcoming jihadists soldiers scattered all over Nigeria to Islamize the country.

The country is clearly coming to an end, Christians must not allow Islam to humiliate them again in Nigeria. All politicians in Biafraland must come out and defend their land because Fulani has taken over, we are aware of humiliation of past politicians like Late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and others because they were out to defend their people British colonialist humiliated them. Today Fulani people are humiliating politicians who are ready to defend their people especially politicians from Biafraland.

The propaganda is so drearily predictable, how Sharia and unbelievers subjugated Christians since British left this contraption called Nigeria. The state sponsored jihadists soldiers spreading across Nigeria particularly Biafraland with the open support of Nigeria security apparatus.

It is appalling that British Nigeria government failed to protect Christians in Nigeria. Our people must be strong enough because IPOB is out to oppose them. We are informing all Christian nations and organizations across the globe to know how Nigeria government and her partners in crime are killing Biafrans and other Christians in Nigeria. Before we match all these nations and organizations must be aware of the caliphate plans to eliminate Christians in the north and Biafra land.

Killing Of Christians: Blame Games, The Trademark Of Buhari’s Administration

By Princewill Akubumma, For Biafra Writers

May 9, 2018

Since Muhammadu Buhari forcefully took over the helm of Nigeria's affairs as president, he had never lived up to expectations prior to his electioneering campaign promises of the proverbial 'Change'.

For almost an end to a 4-year tenure now, the administration of this Fulani herders  sponsored government have been living on lies, blame-games, deception, and incessant killings of defenceless Biafran Christians.

The statement of Buhari during his visit to United States President Donald Trump where he blamed late Muammar Gaddafi of Libya as the cause of the problem surrounding the incessant killings of Biafran-christians across the country is not only callous but a national disgrace. According to Buhari who stated that the people causing the killings are not Fulani herdsmen from Nigeria but rather  bandits across the borders who were once trained by Col. Gaddafi during his 43 years of reign who began their journey down from the Sahel to Nigeria where they started their killing spree which has been unabated.

There are so many questions begging for answers as regards to this blame game of Muhammadu Buhari as an excuse for trying to exonerate himself from the carnage being perpetrated on daily basis in Nigeria.

It is pertinent to note that Col. Gaddafi died on 20th of October 2011 which is 5 years before Buhari came into power, now between 2011 and 2015 after the death of Gaddafi when Buhari assumed office where was the so-called Gaddafi's trained boys (The Fulani Herdsmen)?  The truth is that the number of herdsmen and the impunity with which they go about killing people especially Biafran-Christians everyday with less attention and combat from the government since the inception of Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is a clear evidence that they are being backed by a powerful Muslim president and groups.

All the series of killings orchestrated by the Muslims and supported by Buhari is part of their strategy to implement the Sharia law and spread Jihad all over Nigeria.

No doubt, the Fulani herdsmen is on the  verge of islamizing Nigeria with their latest Jihad war been carried out by Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen on daily basis.

With the kinds of sophisticated and military weapons the Fulani Herdsmen terrorist wield and the lack of proactive measures on the intelligent reports from local Vigilante groups on the activities of the Herdsmen, one must agree that these terrorists are been sponsored by the government to unleash a deadly jihadist war on Biafra-Christains.

The international communities must henceforth desist from listening to the numerous lies being peddled by Muhammadu Buhari.

Fighter Jets To S-East: Nigeria Has Reached Its Elastic Limit

By Desmond Ajah, For Biafra Writers

May 8, 2018

The frustrated Nigerian Government are at it again with a sinister plan and murderous intention of sending military aircrafts to the peaceful South-East geopolitical zone to once again, carry out an ethnic cleansing of Biafrans in their numbers after conducting the infamous Operation Python Dance 1 and 2 which claimed innumerable innocent civilians in the region.

We wonder what has happened to the most volatile areas of Benue and Taraba States that these fighter jets cannot be put to good use in combating the dreaded Fulani herdsmen terrorist menace in the Middle-Belt. Also, why hasn't Operations Python Dance, Crocodile Smiles and other similar operations commenced in Boko Haram terrorist-infested states of the northeast region where many local governments and boundaries has been annexed and controlled by the terrorist group? Rather what the good people of the peaceful Eastern region receive occasional as Federal government's infrastructural presence is the continuous militarization, intimidation and violation of the rights of the people in the Eastern states.

The erroneously glorified country called Nigeria has permeated and watched its exhaust limit being stretched to the extreme without seeking for salvation. An Igbo adage has it that "a deaf fly follows the corpse to the grave" which is the route Nigeria is threading on. On countless numbe of times, some constituent regions in the country have subscribed to go their separate ways and each time have these regions subjected on gunpoint. Little wonder why living together as one in this failed Nigerian State has been declared non-negotiable by President Muhammadu Buhari and his Biafra's oil-mongering northern cabals. It has been said repeatedly that where a child is consistently pointing finger at; if his mother is not there, his father must be there.

Biafrans have been agitating for an independent state since 1967 till date to be allowed to go their separate ways and form their own homogenous nation but Nigeria and its British colonial masters have always considered this as a threat to an end of their continuous  fraudulent oil business extracted from the Biafran region. Nigeria with technical assistance from the British Government are always out to slaughter, kill, intimidate and assault whoever that raised the Biafran question. The recent statement credited to one of the 'born-to-rule' Northerner politician, former vice president Atiku Abubakar saying that Nigerians may wake-up one day and discover that Nigeria is no longer in existence. This is a clear indication by one of the 'born to rule' who has understood the Red-line path the Nigeria failed state is heading to.

It is equally an expression of fear of the impending disintegration of the constituent parts of Nigeria of which Buhari as the Chief terrorist may likely choose to send his killer squads and machines to the peaceful South East region. Biafrans must resist every attempt to subdue our collective efforts in the Biafra restoration project, dead or alive. Thus, "it is brave to die a freedom fighter than to die with your knees down in the enemies' camp."

Fulani Herdsmen Militia: Osinbajo, The Trojan Horse Of Christendom— An Open Letter To Awaken Christians In Nigeria

By Eluwa Chidiebere || For Biafra Writers

January 30, 2018

The echoes of agony, anxiety of which the quest to conquer and dominate is riddled with, are repeating, reflecting and resonating everywhere around the Christian communities in Nigeria but unfortunately, the affected religion is busy complaining of low turn-out in the Church's annual turnover. They are no doubt spiritually and physically blindfolded. The earlier they understand that President Muhammadu Buhari is to Nigerians as to what his deputy, Yemi Osinbajo is to the Christians— deceiving and conquering agents of Islam(the beast), the better for them.

The voice from the wilderness(Mazi Nnamdi Kanu), revealed and lamented over the coming of the Beast three years ago(2014), and the narrow-minded people, in their liquor state, laughed and made mockery of him but today, it is happening.

Kanu, before then said without mincing words, “As they campaign vigorously for elections, you would think, they are coming to grow the economy, enthrone justice, breed unity and tolerance, love for one another. No, they are coming to enthrone Hausa Fulani supremacy, to reposition the security agencies by sacking all competent hands and replace them with their kinsmen in order to drive their ethnic domination of the south, the Fulani herdsmen will be armed and encouraged to slaughter us with impunity and their masters will protect them. They are coming to ensure that my people are enslaved forever. Those who do not believe me will soon see it happen before their eyes”.

The "beast'' approaches and this beast is made of men disguised as cattle rearers with AK47 rifles. The beast (Islam) approaches and the citizens are staying put, so confident in their comfort zones.

Just as the Christian community in Turkey encountered that beast and after all said and done, couldn't remain the same again, so also is it today with Christianity in Nigeria. In Turkey, the beast needed a Trojan Horse amongst the christians to fulfil its mission. This time, the beast has employed the services of a Trojan Horse from the Yoruba race (weaker Christians) by name Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President from an Islam-driven party, APC. The Yoruba land has a supposed greater number of Christian families where Islam has eaten deep into their bone marrow. The Biafrans are the only people left unconquered.

Osinbajo, the head of all slaves (Christians) in Nigeria and the Trojan Horse of Islam, is a pastor that tells lies publicly. In February, 2016, this pastor lied that Yar' Adua and Goodluck Jonathan's administration failed to build a single road. But the question is, what about the Benin-Lagos road, Kano-Zaria road which was named after late Emir Ado Bayero, even Vom-Manchok road, etc.

While the president was away for medical checkup, this pastor through his Media aide, Laolu Akande, admitted approving NNPC contracts worth N600 billion, but when confronted, he publicly lied that it was loan agreement not oil contracts. Haba! pastor. This demonic pastor that threw away his Bible to fulfill the Islamic agenda also quoted that his administration had paid $2 billion for the second Niger Bridge. But when he was forced to issue a clarification, he could not do so, without knowing that the money released was N2 billion which came from the Sovereign Wealth Fund set up by the last administration. Even the so-called dedicated account for recovered funds in CBN that he promised to make its contents public has gone Awol. A pastor indeed! An Islamic Pastor. This Islamic party, APC, came as a saviour to salvage the nation from its woes but deep down is an agent of darkness, destruction and blood-sucking demons with a hidden agenda of islamization.

Where is the source of hope for the Christians especially now that they are besieged politically and likewise in the country's security sector. Oh! poor Christians, the sledge hammer of the beast is already up wielding its strength to pillage. There is nowhere to hold-on to now that the president is an Islamic believer, your IG of Police is a Muslim, the Chief of Army Staff is Islam, Air Force Commander is a Muslim, the DSS boss is a Muslim, the national security adviser, the defence and interior ministers, et al, are all Islamic fellows. Who then shall stand as a beacon of hope? Is it the Pope that is against the holy city Jerusale or the cowardly CAN? or is it the vice president that dropped his Bible immediately he assumed power as if the Bible is a hindrance to his life? Is it God? God hates a foolish person to the core. Why are Fulani Herdsmen allowed to be killing innocent people and yet the federal government refused to proscribe them as a terrorist group? Oh dear me!

Muhammadu Buhari is an Islamic fundamentalist who is so keen to fulfill their northern and OIC agenda. If the grazing reserve bill is passed into law, it means that Fulanis will have a place mapped out for them in all 36 states of Nigeria. The next thing is that, they will start bringing in
their wives and children to increase their population. With time, they will have their Emir installed in every 36 states which will eventually take part in every leadership community gatherings. They will eat into every community like worms and the place given to them can never be taken away from them again since it has been approved by law. Their sect will be ready to strike in every state and community with no hiding place for anyone since they have known every corners of our communities. It is then that we will beg them to stop killing us or we are ready to become Muslims in order to live. Osinbajo knows this secret plan.

It is finished, oh Christians. You have failed the Creator Chukwu Okike Abiama. For long, you have been praying in Churches for God to rescue you in Nigeria, when He sent a Saviour, the voice from the wilderness(Mazi Nnamdi Kanu), speaking from London, you couldn't recognize the saviour. Now, cries and woes have besieged you completely and totally. To you I say, "requiescat in pace."

Biafra: Fulani Herdsmen Attacks And The Quest For Cattle Colonies Are Willful Curricula And Contrivances of Buhari’s Islamization Agenda

By Chikwas Onu Ikpe || For Biafra Writers

January 24, 2018

From the incipience of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Nigeria in its "democratic state," it is not unclear that the gimmicks [the grazing bill proposal, establishment of cattle colonies, et al] of cattle nomadism are instrumental to obfuscating its instincts and motives.

It is worthy to note that the Fulani; a race of cattle nomads, began to enter what is now known as Northern Nigeria in the thirteen century, having believed that they came from Funta Jalon. By the sixteen century, they had spread throughout the Western Sudan, from Senegal to the Cameroons. This, however, was ensued by the emergence of the Jihadist-- Usman Dan Fodio-- who came from the Fulani clan of Funta Toro, and settled in Gobir (now called Sokoto).

Subsequently, Usman fell out with the King of Gobir, which birthed a war (actively by the Fulani) against the King's attack on their teacher [Usman]. Howbeit, Usman was proclaimed the 'Sarkin Musulmi' (King of the Muslims). Urged by his followers, he attacked and put to flight the forces of Gobir; hence capturing Gobir (Sokoto), eventually, Kano, Katsina, Zaria, and other towns his followers conquered.

How about the annexation of Ilorin, the capital city of the present day Kwara State? The Yorubas in Ilorin, in cahoots with the Fulani, shook off the Oyo yoke and a Fulani emirate was established there.

The recent Benue massacre, the gory onslaught in Nimbo (Enugu State), Ancha (Plateau State), Agatu (Benue State), and their likes are courtesies of a calculated ethnic cleansing mechanism, masquerading as Fulani herdsmen but driven more by an expansionist agenda. In other words, the Fulani cattle nomadism coupled with its killings are itineraries gearing towards the islamization of the entirety of Nigeria, especially the Middle Belt and the Southern region.

If you think I am scaremongering, let me convey to you, verbatim, the speeches of the Sarduana of Sokoto. Quoting from the chronicles of Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sarduana of Sokoto, and great grandson of Usman Dan Fodio [the great Fulani Jihadist] - “We the people of the North will continue our stated intention to conquer the South and to dip the Koran in the Atlantic Ocean after the British leave our shores.
“I will allow Sir Tafawa Balewa to go and become Prime Minister and lead the unbelievers of the South whilst I will stay in the North and lead the faithful.”

To all intents and purposes, the incessant quest for cattle grazing reserves, colonies, and 'ethnic cleansing' of indigenous peoples by the Fulani herdsmen, are footholds heeling up towards the territorial usurpation, political subjugation, and ultimately, the effectuation of Islamic blueprints. Establishing "cattle colonies" is not the solution to the ostensible "herdsmen and farmers' crash," but a catalyst to quickening its evil intents. It is an elusive continuity of the Fulani jihad by the accoutered and protected Fulani herdsmen, with an orchestrated agenda to invade and islamize the Southern Nigeria (East and West, inclusive).

These deplorable, lamentable situations spew out mind-boggling questions. Since when did a private enterprise of cattle rearing become a national issue? Why has the Buhari-led administration found it a Herculean task to tame the menace of marauding Fulani herdsmen, but arousing the (Fulani) stratagem, in the mien of proposing grazing reserve bills and cattle colonies? Who has been arming the herdsmen with high-tech weaponry, not excluding AK47 rifles? Why haven’t the police nabbed even one person and bring (him) to book over these barbarity? Apropos, where are the "Pythons" and "Crocodiles" that were dancing in the peaceful towns of Biafraland? From all indications, however, it is not at all surprising over the 'partisan' allotment of key security positions of the federation to only a faction of the Hausa/Fulani; in spite of the shrieking cries of "ONE NIGERIA".

Resultantly, it is not a hypothesis but unmitigated to say that the Fulani herdsmen and their gambits are pawns in an axe to grind (hidden motive), to hem in non-islamic territories; then they would install emirs in Agatu, Jos, Enugu, and other towns that would abruptly endorse the Fulani ploys. If the Yoruba in Ilorin (Kwara State) had hitherto knowledge of what would become of them today, perhaps they would not have accommodated the Fulani, ab initio. The Hausa Sarkins [Kings] would have still been ruling the Northern Nigeria today, if Usman Dan Fodio and his war-mongering co-immigrants were not welcomed.

Read Also: BIAFRA: THE FULANI MENACE

At this point, being the crux of the matter, I enjoin all indigenous peoples to rise up and (defend) gird themselves. Now I understand what our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu meant, in his speech, during the 2015 World Igbo Congress in Los Angeles, USA. Upon abdication of duties (pursuant to the security and welfare of her citizenry) by the government, we must not fold our arms and watch the nomadic terrorists and expansionists pillage our land.

Self-defense is peremptorily the right of every human, even 'animals,' for the purpose of defending one's life or the lives of others. Hence, the use of 'defensive force' is justified. If a defendant whose life is on the line, owing to a threat of grievous harm by the other person, eventually uses a defensive force; the defendant is said to be justified vis-à-vis the instruments of "perfect self-defense".

Beyond any doubt, this is the end time of this struggle. Let us keep it on, undeterred, as we march towards the promised land - the land of BIAFRA. That very land that fructifies unceasing milk and honey. Do not look back. We shall emerge triumphantly.

A VITÓRIA É CERTA [VICTORY IS CERTAIN].

BIAFRA: THE FULANI MENACE

By Victoria O.C Agangan || For Biafra Writers

January 22, 2018

Now, the Fulani dawn is here again with us, and we are still in Nigeria, it is high time we wake up to reality. Buhari's assumption to power was purposeful, planned and pre-laid. He never came to fight corruption nor fix the problems of the country but to position his Fulani kinsmen into power and he has successfully completed this assignment.

Woe to all who were a party to his northernization agenda because Nigeria have metamorphosed into a Fulani Caliphate. I pity all those crying out now because they ignored the signs, they now woke up late and can only cry helplessly to the same tormentor who looks away with joy and secret sigh of implementing the infamous visions of Uthman Dan Fodio— the expansion of Futa jalon mountain dwellers who as pirates invaded the fragile Hausa landscape and dubiously dominated their ancestral homeland. Same was the case of the Yoruba ethnic group who completely succumbed to the Fulani Oligarchy and used them as pawns in their chessboard.

The systematic moves are not coincidental, neither the reoccurring decimal of irrational killings in various forms and places across the country. All these are little tit bits, awaiting a grand finale of a greater time plan and schedule unfolding in shreds.

Woe to those who joined in castigating the IPOB and its  leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Woe to the sleepy sleazy talkatives who spoke before reasoning, now, they know better.

This Fulani menace has come to stay and until Nigeria is split into parts, there is nothing much anyone can do about it. Woe to those still canvassing for one Nigeria for the Fulani whose ambition remains to conquer, outrun and overtake Nigeria, because it is a serious business for them and as such, they are not ready to repent. Who are those ruling and mining the powers of Nigeria today? Why have the Fulani herdsmen remained armed and uninterrupted? Why are they suddenly shouting down orders and shooting down people without any interference from the government? This is food for thought.

Nigeria is already conquered, and the fact is that she is an Islamic Republic awaiting capture and remodeling to suit her masters, this will be to the chagrin of the greedy political aspirants who feel they matter in the society. I weep for their ignorance and imminent fall starring them in the faces like movies in a cinema hall.

Biafra remains the best option and a gateway for the believing and accepting brethren who can read the handwriting on the wall. In the land of the rising sun, the sun can only smile on Biafrans, the chosen people according to the purpose of Chukwuokike(God Almighty). The systematic moves of the Fulani are not so deceptive. Biafrans are characterized of a people with personality. A blessed nation with a chosen identity and really will not be remodelled to suit a heathen agenda.

IPOB has gone through a lot in shedding light on the truth of Biafra and we will not stop but in the face of the changes uprising, I think it is high time to get up and posses our possession with vigour or be swept away in the destruction facing her.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu tried his utmost best to unveil this impending doom but the cowardly, fearful, and greedy Eastern leaders sabotaged his efforts and hence the ever ready Fulani killer president deployed his pythons to murderously dance in Afaraukwu, the curse has only increased and the menance is not abated. For me, I still and will always stand with Biafra. This is my identity and who I really am. I refuse and reject to be ejected into an Islamic slavery, I hope my true bloodied Biafrans are with me? There is no place for us in Nigeria.

Igbo/Yoruba Handshake: Proscribe Miyetti Allah, Fulani Herdsmen as terrorists, Afenifere, IYOF, tells FG

By Chukwuemeka Chimerue || The Chief Editor, The Biafra Times

January 12, 2018

ENUGU— Leaders of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere and the coalition of Igbo and Yoruba pressure group known as Igbo-Yoruba Foundation(IYOF), has called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government, to as a matter of urgency, proscribe and designate as terrorists, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria(MACBAN) and Fulani cattle herders in the country.

This demand was made in Enugu on Thursday during the convocation alliance among Igbo, Yoruba, South-South and Middle Belt ethnic groups in a programme tagged, “Handshake Across The Niger: A Celebration Of Igbo/Yoruba Friendship Beyond Brotherhood,” in which they unanimously condemned the nefarious activities of Fulani herdsmen in their regions.

Speaking to The Biafra Times Correspondent at the event, leader of Yoruba group and representative of Chairman of Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo who informed that the meeting was a catalyst for unity of Southerners, stated that rather than solving the problems of the country through restructuring, President Buhari chose to clampdown on innocent Biafra agitators.

Adebanjo said: “It’s only restructuring that can guarantee your rights in Nigeria. Cheating, injustice and even corruption can only be wiped out through restructuring. President Buhari will not do that, instead he has ensured that all military and paramilitary ‎institutions are under his control and he has refused to name Fulani herdsmen as terrorists yet he pounced on IPOB that seeks for justice.”

Also speaking in the same vein, the Conveners of IYOF, Sunday Chudi Dick and Segun Popoola, in their joint statement, declared that Nigeria as presently constituted cannot move forward, adding that crushing IPOB and other agitators cannot proffer a lasting solution on the myriads of problems bedeviling the country.

“Nigeria cannot work as it is presently constituted. The President stated in his new year broadcast that Nigeria’s problem is in its process and not structure. This is a fallacy. If the structure is gotten right, the process will be seamless.

“There are fiscal, political and social injustices in our polity. That is why the armed Fulani herdsmen cannot be tamed by the federal government. It is not the interest of the feudalists to do so. Crushing IPOB, MASSOB and other agitators in the country will not bring not the solution. The solution is social justice, equity, fiscal and structural justice,” IYOF stated.

The group added that had the Igbos and Yorubas formed a united front in the 60s before the war, “the two groups would not have been joint slaves in Nigeria today as they are despite their intellect, education and potentials. Awolowo suspected Zik and Zik suspected Awolowo. They dissipated their energy pulling each other down and currying favours from their common foes.”

READ ALSO: Nigeria Security Must Stop Killing Our Youths In Rivers/Middle Belt – IPOB

It further stated that, “if the Yorubas had supported the Igbos during the war, there was no way the outcome of the war would be what it later became. Forget about the propaganda today that the winning side fought to unite Nigeria, that is not true. They fought to appropriate to themselves the common wealth of Nigeria. That is why almost all the major participants in the war fron the federal side are today, owners of oil blocs, created more states and local governments for themselves and insist on the status quo to remain in Nigeria.”

Going historical, it said, “Yorubas and Igbos were jointly conquered at Ore in 1966 when the feudalists pitched them against each other. The two giant races should have liberated Nigeria and Africa due to their intellectual endownments. But they chose to be suspecting each another and tranquilising themselves mutually to the benefit of their common foes.”

However, in a Communiqué signed and issued by leaders of the two ethnic groups at the end of the alliance, the Igbo and Yoruba resolved “to collaborate closely to create mutually beneficial opportunities, build a strong alliance to advance their ever growing mutual interests, while striving together to meet the common responsibilities of building a united, coherent and prosperous nation - state of free peoples, freely relating to one another across the dividing lines of tribe, religion, region and politics.

“Committed to work in close partnership and through peaceful means to restructure Nigeria, reducing and restricting the duties of the federal government to only matters of national import on the exclusive list, while granting the federating units the right to take full responsibility for local, developmental and residual matters, as this will lead to healthy competition and cooperation among the federating units, in place of the present dysfunctional arrangement that merely superintends over the sharing and consuming of rents, and holds some States and Zones down for others to play the elusive game of catch-up.

Biafra: Buhari’s war against corruption intended to islamise Nigeria—Prof Nwabueze

January 11, 2018

ONITSHA—CHAIRMAN of the Patriots, Prof Ben Nwabueze, SAN, has dismissed the war on corruption by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, saying it is a hidden plan to islamise Nigeria.

Nwabueze said that the appointment of northerners as heads of all major security agencies and other strategic positions, including the Military, Police, Customs, Secret Services, among others was part of his northernisation agenda for the country, noting that old age was affecting his mobilisation of Nigerians to support the eradication of corruption.

He then called for the amendment of the 1999 Constitution to ensure an age limit for the presidency.

These were contained in his statement entitled, “Whether the eradication of corruption is the motivating object of the on-going war against it.”

According to him, there should be an age limit to which nobody should contest elections just as there was for non-elective positions or civil service.

Nwabueze said that Buhari, 75, made 15 strategic and lopsided appointments of northerners in the Army, Police, Department of State Services, the National Intelligence Agency, NIA and other arms of government against other sections of the country, hence the cynicism by Nigerians about the motive of the on-going war on corruption.

According to him, northerners were occupying the offices of the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Director- Generals of DSS, NIA, Inspector General of Police, Chief of Staff to the President, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Nigeria Ports Authority, Controller General of Customs, Immigration, Minister of Internal Affairs, National Security Adviser, Minister of Petroleum, 15 out of the 22 Assistant Inspectors General of Police among other sensitive positions.

He said: “The 15 appointments listed above are strategic appointments as they relate to the prosecution of the war against corruption. “The object of the war against corruption, in which successive governments in the country profess themselves to be engaged, needs to be clearly stated and constantly borne in mind. ”The constitution is unequivocal that the object is the eradication or abolition of all corrupt practices and abuse of office. Accordingly, a duty is laid on governments, federal and state, to do so, i.e. to abolish all corrupt practices and abuse of office as contained in section 15(5). What, then, does the duty thus laid on government require of it?

“The Rt Rev Matthew Kukah, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, answers the question thus: The battle against corruption, he said, “is not so much going to be won by how many investigations and probes we conduct. It will not be won by how many people go to jail. It will not be won by how much money is recovered from the looters of our common wealth. Corruption has to be fought in the minds and hearts of people, with a view to bringing about a change in their attitudes towards it; a change in the Nigerian psyche.

“This is not, however, to say that the anti-corruption war should be discontinued or that the corruption probes should be abandoned. They must continue with increased vigour. It only means that the eradication of corruption and the cleansing of the pervasive rottenness in our society, of which corruption is a manifestation, call for a social and ethical revolution, which in turn calls for an effective mobilisation of the people for the purpose.”

Nwabueze further harped on “effective mobilisation of the people for a worthy cause,” like the war on corruption, pointing out that it was one of the most arduous tasks of political leadership.

His further stated, “It requires, as leader, a president with the energy of youth, an energy that will enable him to move round the country and meet with the people in their various communities, at town hall gatherings and other fora, down to the grassroots, and address them on the imperative necessity for change in their attitudes and mindset, and the need for patriotism generally.

“I think that at 75 a person, man or woman, whoever he or she may be, no longer possesses the sort of energy required for the purpose. For nearly three years since his installation in office on 29 May, 2015, President Buhari has not embarked on such mobilisation exercise apparently because his advanced age, 75, does not enable him to do so and partly because he appears not to have the necessary inclination or disposition. The reason of advanced age needs to be remedied by prescribing in the Constitution an upper age limit for a president, as is done in some countries of the world, and as is done for non-elective public officials.

“A social and ethical revolution is needed not only to rid the country of the cankerworm of corruption, but also to launch it upon a New Beginning, a new socio-political order, a more or less clean slate, unsmeared by the rottenness that presently pervades the society. A “change in the Nigerian psyche” is a radical change that requires a social and ethical revolution to bring it about.

Growing public cynicism about the sincerity of Buhari as an uncompromising spear-head of a crusade against corruption:

“Given that President Buhari was initially acclaimed, hailed and idolised by the people as an uncompromising spear-head of a crusade against corruption – taking crusade to mean, not just a war, but a war fought with great passion and zeal – it is significant that, in less than two years, the acclaim is giving way to cynicism about the President’s sincerity in the prosecution of the war.

“Is he really the uncompromising crusader that the public had been led to believe? There is reason to suppose that the public cynicism is the by-product of the President’s Northernisation Agenda, as it is being carried into effect by his lopsided strategic appointments which are so manifestly skewed in favour of the North and against the South.

“Viewed from the standpoint of the war against corruption, it is significant that all the key officials involved, even if it be indirectly, in the prosecution of the war are northerners appointed by President Buhari since his inauguration as President on 29 May, 2015. A list of such appointees shows this assertion to be an incontrovertible fact.

“Babachir Lawal, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF; appointed in preference to a hotly tipped candidate from the South-East; after his removal following allegation of diversion of funds meant for persons displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East, he was replaced by another northerner, Boss Mustapha, again in preference to a rumoured candidate from the South-East.

“Maj-General Babagana Monguno, rtd, National Security Adviser, NSA, replacing (Col) Dasuki, NSA under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

“Ibrahim Idris, IGP, appointed over the heads of some southern officers senior to him. The IGP is heading a Police Force, the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, in which 15 out of the 22 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, AIG, who exercise much of the function of the operational control of the Force, are northerners, while three are from the South-West and two from the South-East.

“These blatantly lopsided appointments, all of which were made since the inception of the Buhari Administration, portray the NPF as an army of occupation deliberately designed to carry into effect President Buhari’s Northernisation Aganda in furtherance of the dream of the Sardauna to reduce the South to a conquered territory and thereby prevented from having control over its future.

“The President’s implacable opposition to re-structuring which envisages the establishment of State Police should not, therefore, surprise us. He wants to be able to continue to exercise control over the internal security of the Southern States and to continue to hold them hostage. It caricatures true federalism that a constituent state in a Federation should be under the control and yoke of the Federal Government in the matter of its internal security.

“Daura, Director-General, Department of State Services, DSS, replacing Ita Ekpenyong; apart from the DG, the directors are mostly northerners. The control of the NPF and DSS by northerners must be taken together with the fact that the Minister of Interior and the Permanent Secretary of the ministry are northerners; that the Army and Air Force are headed by northerners; and, above all that President Muhammadu Buhari, a northerner, is the Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, and has the power under the Constitution to direct the operational use of the NPF for the maintenance and securing of public safety and public order; his power to direct the operational use of the DSS is even more plenary.

“The implication of the control of security by northerners is that the security of Nigeria and Nigerians is an exclusively northern affair, thereby putting the rest of us at their mercy.

“Abubakar Malami SAN, Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, AGF, a young SAN, who was raised to the rank in 2008, i.e. seven years before his appointment as AGF.

“Lt-Gen Abdulrahman Danbazau, rtd, Minister of Interior.

viii: Magaji Abubakar, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior; he has publicly admitted to have wrongfully sidetracked the Head of Service, HoS, Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, a southerner, in the reinstatement of Abdulrasheed Maina, and has apologized to her accordingly: see the Vanguard of December 1, 2017.

“Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC; still kept in office in an acting capacity since 9 November, 2015 because of repeated refusal by the Senate to confirm his appointment.

“Hamed Ibrahim Ali, Controller-General, Nigerian Customs Services; customs is the underbelly of corruption in Nigeria.

“Mohammad Babandede, Controller-General Nigerian Immigration Services; immigration stands implicated in Maina’s escape out of Nigeria after his sack from the civil service and his subsequent re-entry into it.

“Amb. Muhammed Dauda, Acting Director-General National Intelligence Agency, NIA, replacing Ayo Oke, a southerner; after he was sacked, following the discovery in the NIA offices in the Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, of the sum of $43 million, £27,800 and N23 million.

“Alhaji Amed Idris, Accountant-General of the Federation, replacing Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla, a southerner. Maitanti Baru, Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, replacing Ibe Kachukwu, a southerner, who, as Minister of State for Petroleum and Chairman, NNPC Board, was sidelined by Baru in the process for the award of some NNPC contracts; earlier he has been downgraded from Minister of Petroleum to Minister of State for Petroleum, with the President taking over as his own Petroleum Minister.

“Abdulrasheed Maina, Chairman, Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform; although his initial appointment took place before the Buhari Administration, his reinstatement after he was sacked occurred during that Administration, with the President’s approval as the evidence shows…

“There are of course other lopsided strategic appointments, such as the appointment of Professor Mahmood Yakubu as Chairman, Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, and Hadiza Bala-Usman as Head of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.

The listed appointments raise critical issues as to the intention or design behind them.

“They look like a swoop on the South, a jihad designed to foist Northern domination, or even subjugation, on the South in pursuance of the Sarduna’s agenda, announced as far back as 1960, tosubjugate the South and reduce it to a conquered territory, with the object of preventing it from havingcontrol over its future,” an agenda which President Buhari, in a speech in May 2015 as President-elect, re-echoed and vowed to carry to a finish.

“What other reason could there be for concentrating in the North the appointments to all the positions vital to the effective prosecution of the war against corruption? We need to be told. One hopes that the order for the purchase of war planes from the U.S., ostensibly to fight Boko Haram terrorism, is not connected with the hidden agenda for a jihad.

“The 15 appointments stand uncontroverted. And yet in a futile attempt to controvert the incontrovertible, the President, responding to a newspaper report that 81 of 100 appointments made by him were from the North, published a list of 159 appointments made by him, 85 of which were from the South and 74 from the North: see the Vanguard November 6, 2017. “We are being treated again to another irrelevancy designed to befog a critical issue and to hoodwink the Nigerian people. The President is simply preying on the gullibility of the public in anything that comes from him.

“What all this means is that corruption is being fought, not by an all-inclusive team of officials, but by officials drawn from one section of the country, the North, separated in interests, outlook and attitude from the South, which makes the war look like an exclusively Northern affair.

“Hence the increase in public cynicism about the President’s sincerity as leader. The cynicism seems to have reached its peak in the Maina case, tagged by the media as the Maina saga or Mainagate, involving several billions of naira allegedly stolen from the pension fund scheme superintended by the Presidential Task Force Reform Team of which Abdulrasheed Maina was Chairman.

“The aspect of the Maina case that aroused great public interest and heightened public cynicism about the sincerity of the President as leader of a crusade was the threat by the Chief of Staff to the President, Alhaji Abba Kyari, a northerner, to “query” the Head of Service of the Federation, HoS, Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, a southerner, for saying that she informed the President of Maina’s reinstatement which was effected against her opposition.

“The threat was made in the view of people, including the Vice-President, arriving at the Council Chambers for the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council. The threat and the HoS instant but angry response triggered public reaction. Is the HoS under the authority of the Chief of Staff as to make her amenable to a query by him?

“Why should he publicly utter such a threat, except perhaps as an over-zealous show of solidarity for a master from the same section of the country, the North? Was the motive a concern to shield a fellow northerner? The public was not told anything more about this scandalous exhibition of sectionalism other than that the controversy had been settled by the President meeting privately with the two quarrelling officials.

“But the public cynicism remains. Was something being concealed from the public about the whole Maina saga? Was the President in fact privy to Maina’s return to the country and his reinstatement into the civil service, and did he authorise it? Maina’s testimony came on 29 November, 2017, as reported in the Vanguard of that day. He said:

“When this government came in, the president gave his note that go and sit down with Maina. I have given you the approval. They sat down with me… The process of my reinstatement started after the Attorney-General, Mr Malami, visited me. As soon as the present government decided to sit with me, and after sitting with me, I told them I will not leave you to go back to Nigeria without something in your pocket. I’m going to give you something in your pocket, and the Minister laughed.

“Maina’s testimony has not been countered by government.

The eradication of corruption requires the concerted efforts of all Nigerians fighting together as one people under an all-inclusive government, not a government perceived to be one for one section of the country only, the North, and from which the other section feels alienated.”
