The Detention Of Biafran Women In Prison, A Result Of Failure Of International Communities And World Leaders To Acknowledge Biafra’s Unique Self Determination

By Eluwa Chidiebere Chinazu | Biafra Writers

August 24, 2018

It is evidently clear that leaders around the world has lost hold on good leadership. Even the so-called world powers have gone mute overnight. This silence from these international bodies shall no doubt go down in history as the vilest thing that would ever happen to world peace. It shall be an undebatable fact that shall justify the virtuousness and legality of any group that may toe the part of violence in fighting for their freedom in the future. Truly, the world is encouraging violence, war etc. towards achieving freedom by keeping silent over the killing and incarceration of the Biafran people.

The height of this incarceration is colossal and has lingered unabated by virtue of the intentional silence emanating from the international bodies and world leaders. 114 Biafran women (predominantly mothers) languishing in jail amongst them is a pregnant woman, thousands of IPOB activists are wasting away in different prisons in Nigeria, thousands killed and many deformed etc. and the international communities and world leaders are turning a blind eye to all these inhumane and degrading treatments meted on the good people of Biafra who have been peaceful in their approach as requested by the same international bodies that made the laws.

In Biafra land, every Biafran has come to the realization that what drives and nurtures this grave silence from these bodies and world powers is the oil money which the Nigerian government is lavishing to feed them fat in order to seal their mouth not to uphold the tenets of the laws they themselves made. All of them bar none is as corrupt as Nigeria when it comes to Biafra issues.

America should know that people are undistinguished in life until they have made a name and so, America is not exempted. Of course, he that drums for a madman is himself a madman. The United States of America has been supplying the Nigerian State with the ammunition used in the decimation of the poor masses, ethnic cleansing by the Fulani Herdsmen and the gross killing of the Biafrans with impunity. It's said that a man is known by the company of friends he keeps and so this ennobling relationship between American government and the monstrous Nigerian government should be checkmated to ascertain the ulterior motive behind it because the bush does not sway unless there is wind.

What does the word "immunity" stands for in today's world? Is it immunity to kill at will, molest people, immunity to terrorize without punishing the perpetrators, or immunity to encroach on people's right? If that is the case, a time will come when there would be an uprising, when people will jettison peacefulness and embrace violence since impartiality cannot be allowed to reign. This is because, we have failed to understand that we all are human beings and as such, a cooking pot for the chameleon is also a cooking pot for the lizard.

Since Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have epitomized peacefulness beyond measure in exercising their right to self-determination, since they have been proclaimed the most peaceful freedom fighting outfit in the world, everybody expects the international communities and world leaders to use them as an example by giving them their freedom. This will enable those believing in violent means as the only criteria to attain their objectives to think twice. This in nutshell, will shape the face of the world. Unless the world is toeing the part of violence.

BIAFRA: BIAFRA RESTORATION IS IMMINENT, ONLY THE CHOSEN ONES WILL RESTORE HER

June 8, 2017

There is no total restoration of a country without confronting difficulties and challenges, but with hard work and pressing hard to your aim, you will get to your destination. Biafra is our natural home that was forcefully colonized by the British imperialists. Since then, Biafrans have been struggling to restore back the glory of their nation which triggered the killing of about 5 million Biafrans and properties destroyed. But this time, Biafrans are more determined to accomplish their aim.

The British government right from history have engaged herself in so many series of genocidal war around the world, and up till now, they have no remorse on the mayhem they unleashed against the people of Biafra by supplying the Nigerian government with sophisticated ammunition to kill and exterminate Biafrans, for that, history and posterity will never be fair with both Britain and Nigeria. Britain and her establishment, Nigeria have to understand that killing Biafrans will only give us the courage and strength to continue to fight on, till we achieve our independence.

Biafrans far and near, home and abroad should know that now is the right time to fight and press on for the total emancipation of the republic of Biafra. We have gone too far that going back has become a taboo. We should be glad that we are part of the people making history, more to that, our people that died in this quest for a free Biafra will not die in vain, we must fight until everything within us are exhausted.

We cannot afford to go back now that we are closer to the promised land; a land flowing with milk and honey, a land prepared for us by Chukwu Okike Abiama and with our collective effort, we must reach our Eldorado.

BIAFRA: Biafran Secessionist Movement Grows Stronger in Nigeria

BIAFRA:
Biafran Secessionist Movement Grows Stronger in Nigeria
May 28, 2017

On May 30, many people in southeastern Nigeria will remember those who lost their lives in one of Africa’s most brutal wars. More than 1 million people died during Nigeria’s 1967 to 1970 civil war known as the Biafra War The conflict erupted after leaders from southeastern Nigeria declared that the region would secede from Nigeria.

Memories of the war remain strong for those who lived through it.

“Have you been walking with somebody and the bomb killed him and all you have to do is look at the corpse and continue walking? Even if it’s your sister, you just continue walking because you’re running for dear life? Or have you been hidden on the roof of a building because you are afraid because your mother is afraid the soldiers will come and rape you?” says Enuma Okoro, who was 21 when the war broke out.

“In my compound, we saw several skeletons of dead people. My father’s compound was flattened. It was a war front,” says Obum Okeke, who was 7 years old when the war started.

The war gained widespread global attention once pictures of starving Biafran children were published in the international media. The Nigerian government had formed a blockade, making it difficult for aid groups to reach Biafra. Many children starved and developed a severe condition that became known as kwashiorkor.

“First of all, the first thing you notice is the stomach bloated," says Christopher Ejiofor, a traditional king in his community in the southeastern state of Enugu and the aide to Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, a military officer, and leader of the short-lived Republic of Biafra. "The arms to the bones, the legs to the bones, the thigh to the bones, the head, skull. Can you imagine that? That is a starving a child. And that is what happened everywhere in Biafra,” he says.

The war ended with the surrender of Biafra in January 1970. Biafrans returned to Nigeria and the country once known as Biafra, ceased to exist. But in recent years, the pro-Biafra movement has resurged. Supporters say the grievances that led to the war have still not been addressed.

Poll: growing support

A survey released this week from a Nigerian research group revealed that the pro-Biafra movement is gaining support, particularly among young people who did not experience the war. The rise could also be a reaction for a region that has received little infrastructural development from the federal government.

“I am supporting it [Biafra] because that is who I am,” says senior university student Sofuru Afah. “Nigeria is an artificial creation by the British. I am not a Nigerian and I have never been and I never will. Buhari hates our people.”

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari fought against Biafra during the civil war as a young soldier. He says he will not tolerate the Biafra movement. Under Buhari’s administration, Nnamdi Kanu, leader of one of the more popular pro-Biafra groups, called IPOB, was detained in 2015 on charges of treason, criminal conspiracy and belonging to an illegal society. Kanu was released on bail last month after spending nearly two years in prison in the Nigerian capital of Abuja.

IPOB’s deputy, Uche Mefor, told VOA the Nigerian government cannot ignore the voice of Biafrans. He says May 30 will be a day for the world to recognize because pro-Biafrans will unite in peaceful resistance. Some pro-Biafrans will stay in their homes while others plan to join street rallies.

“The compliance on that day will indeed convince the world that the people of Biafra are actually ready for their self-governance. We have our right to self-existence and it doesn’t matter what anybody things about it,” he told VOA.

The Nigerian government is determined to preserve Nigeria. Speaking at a Biafra remembrance forum in Abuja this week, acting president Yemi Osinbajo said Nigeria should remain one and all Nigerians should strive to achieve an ideal Nigeria.

“We are not there yet, but I believe we have a strong chance to advance in that direction. But that will not happen if we allow our frustrations and grievances to transmute into hatred,” Osinbanjo said during the address.

Lawrence Akpu and other disabled Biafra war veterans gather to discuss their support for the pro-Biafra movement. They want southeastern Nigeria to secede and form the country of Biafra.
But, the message of one Nigeria is too late for many people like Lawrence Akpu, a former Biafran fighter. During the war, shrapnel cut into his spinal cord. Today, he’s confined to a wheelchair. Even though he’s poor and begs for handouts, he says he doesn’t regret fighting for Biafra and will fight again.

“If we join our hands together to seek Biafra, we shall get Biafra. Because we have no place in Nigeria,” Akpu says.

Akpu joins a group of other disabled Biafra War veterans on a hot afternoon. They reminisce about the war and soon, they begin to sing the war songs that kept their spirits inspired to keep fighting.

BIAFRA: A CALL ON THE UNITED NATIONS, ECOWAS, AND AFRICAN UNION TO LIVE UP TO THEIR MANDATE

BIAFRA:
A CALL ON  THE  UNITED  NATIONS, ECOWAS, AND  AFRICAN  UNION TO LIVE UP  TO  THEIR  MANDATE

8th May 2017

He was an American. Bruce Mayrock. Born on the 6th of May 1949, 68 years ago, yet for the love of humanity and Biafrans, he sacrificed his life at the tender age of twenty.

Many youths at that time were in the prime of youthful exuberance and boyish escapades, but this young man in the bid to draw attention to the ongoing genocide against Biafrans set himself ablaze in front of United Nations office, pleading earnestly that they save the lives of millions of  Biafran children, women, and men being massacred by the Nigerian evil state and their British ally. He was a very compassionate young American who never had any contact with Africa, nor with Biafrans whom, he died for.

READTHIS: BIAFRA GENOCIDE: A MORAL BURDEN ON BRITAIN, UN, AND THE WORLD

He aroused such emotions, yet after all these years, United Nations, Ecowas, African Union, have not done anything to address the plight of the bastardized Biafrans in Nigeria for which this young man died?

Again, the occasion has arisen to correct past mistakes done to the indigenous people of Biafra, and the struggle as led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and avert future misdeeds. Yet, the world powers are still looking the other way. So we ask, why is it so? Why are they turning blind eyes when injustice and crime against humanity is being perpetrated against the innocent and helpless people?

Why did they allow Brexit, for the British government to leave the European union? Currently, Scotland is agitating for a second referendum, yet Biafrans are not allowed to exercise their right to self-determination? Why was Cremea also granted the referendum that led her exit out of Ukraine?

READ THIS TOO: BIAFRA: WHAT HISTORY HAS THOUGHT US IN FREEDOM FIGHTING

How, and why is the  Biafran self-determination bid tagged by BBC as secession? Why is the British exit from the EU or the Scotland move to be an independent state not termed secession? We are asking these question because it amounts to a great injustice to Biafra's peaceful demand of her legal rights. There is no difference between what Biafrans are asking for and what Scotland and Creamea asked for and got.

Biafra predates Nigeria, and there is no justification in a white man coming all the way from Europe to create a nation by forcefully amalgamating people of diverse culture and value system.  How can a white European be the foundation of a black African race?

Nigeria is a concoction brewed under deceit and fraud. This is an ill-conceived union and is not and has never been acceptable by our people. Little wonder, she is characterized by corruption, perdition, suppression and all degrees of oppression.

We will continue to resist this forced marriage until the world sees the reason to dissolve it for good. This concoction is not working instead, it bequeaths pain, penury, and persecution to her unfortunate occupants. We want out!

MUST READ: BIAFRA: REFERENDUM IS LONG OVERDUE: EU, UN, AU AND OTHERS MUST ACT NOW

After all these years that Biafrans have been subjected to all manner of ethnic cleansing and genocide, we assume that you, the United Nations, ECOWAS, African Union are blind, deaf and dumb to the events happening around you. Biafrans have for a certainty brought the truth to the limelight; to your door steps, exposing the hidden history of our plight in this God forsaken contraption of evil Britain called Nigeria.

All we are requesting, therefore, is that you set the stage for justice. Honor our request for a referendum as was given Britain in the EU and to Scotland. Give us a platform to make our choice. You promulgated the charter on the rights of the Indigenous Peoples to self-determination, why do you allow Africans to kill each other before implementing the law you passed.

If you actually believe in your charter, do practice what you preach!

Biafran leader Nnamdi Kanu: The man behind Nigeria's separatists

Biafran leader Nnamdi Kanu: The man behind Nigeria's separatists

Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu
6th May 2017

After spending more than a year-and-a-half in a Nigerian jail without trial on treason charges, Nnamdi Kanu is now free on bail. The BBC's Stephanie Hegarty explains who Nwannekaenyi "Nnamdi" Kanu is and why he attracts so much controversy

Nnamdi Kanu founded the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) in 2014.
The movement wants a group of states in southeast Nigeria, made up mainly of people from the Igbo ethnic group, to break away and form the independent nation of Biafra.

The plan is not new. In 1967 Igbo leaders declared a Biafran state, but after a brutal civil war, which led to the deaths of up to a million people, the secessionist rebellion was defeated.

But the idea of separatism has bubbled away since then and Mr. Kanu is the latest in a line of Biafran activists taking up the cause.
Pro-Biafra protesters in southern Nigeria on Sunday 8 November 2015
IPOB activists held frequent demonstrations over the detention of Mr. Kanu
He was a relatively obscure figure until 2009 when he started Radio Biafra, a station that called for an independent state for the Igbo people and broadcast to Nigeria from London.

Though he grew up in Nigeria's southeast and went to the University of Nsukka, Mr. Kanu moved to the UK before graduating.
Soon after setting up IPOB, he spoke to gatherings of the large Igbo diaspora, calling for Biafran independence. In some of his comments, he urged Biafrans to take up arms against the Nigerian state.

"We need guns and we need bullets," he said in one such address.
And that is what brought him to the attention of Nigeria's security services.

'Frivolous'

However, IPOB spokeswoman Amarachi Chimeremeze told the BBC this was not a literal call to arms: "That was a metaphor, to tell the people we are going to fight for this." If his trial, currently due to begin in July, does actually get underway, that is the question the judge will have to rule on.

In October 2015, soon after arriving in Nigeria for a visit, he was arrested in his Lagos hotel. He was charged with "criminal conspiracy, intimidation, and membership of an illegal organization" - charges that could amount to treason.
His lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, told the BBC that the charges were "frivolous".
"They were concocted to ensure his detention in prison. These are smoke-screen charges that will never see the light of day."

Biafra at a glance:
States claimed by IPOB for an independent Biafran state

*IPOB claims these existing states would make up an independent Biafra

*The first republic of Biafra was declared by Nigerian military officer Odumegwu-Ojukwu in 1967

*He led his mainly ethnic Igbo forces into a deadly three-year civil war that ended in 1970

*More than one million people lost their lives, mostly because of hunger

*Decades after Biafra uprising was quelled by the military, secessionist groups have attracted the support of many young people.

*They feel Nigeria's central government is not investing in the region.

*But the government says their complaints are not particular to the southeast

Since his arrest, groups of IPOB supporters have gathered in protest around Nigeria and the movement has gained momentum.

They believe that the British vote to leave the European Union and Donald Trump's election in the US are evidence of growing international support for the "right to self-determination" which they espouse.

MUST READ: BIAFRA: BRITAIN'S UGLY ROLE IN THE ONGOING KILLINGS OF BIAFRANS BY THE REPRESSIVE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT.

Some have said they are now seeking "Biafrexit".
Organized pro-Biafran protests have almost always been broken up by police, with IPOB saying their followers were injured or even killed, something the authorities vehemently deny.
But the violence has led to increased publicity and Cheta
Nwanze, a political analyst who has done extensive research on the pro-Biafra movement, says Mr Kanu's "arrest was a mistake because it played into his hands".

"When the 2015 election happened, there was a slowdown in the popularity of his radio station and that's when he decided to come to Nigeria to get arrested."
Biafra protesters
Was it a mistake to arrest Nnamdi Kanu?
Mr. Nwanze believes Mr. Kanu is an opportunist and points to a video of him speaking at an anti-Boko Haram rally in London just months before he set up IPOB, where he spoke about the need to protect Nigeria from breaking apart.

But the IPOB spokeswoman disputes this. She says Mr. Kanu simply went to Nigeria to show his commitment to the struggle.
"He came to prove to them that he meant everything that he said. The Nigerian administration was acting as if according to a script and arrested him," Ms. Chimeremeze told the BBC.

'Lost tribe of Israel'

Putting his separatist ambitions aside, human rights groups and some senior politicians have been calling for Mr. Kanu's release, arguing that his many months of detention without trial was unlawful.

As is common with the Nigerian legal system, the case has been plagued by delays. After a year-and-a-half, no significant progress has been made.

The government ignored several court orders calling for Mr. Kanu's bail before bowing to a court order last week, and granting it "on medical grounds".
Pro-Biafra supporters in Nigeria - November 2015

But the bail conditions are harsh: The IPOB leader is banned from public speaking, granting interviews or being in a group of more than 10 people.

As a condition of that bail, Mr Kanu had to bring a prominent Igbo leader, a wealthy resident of Abuja and a senior Nigerian Jewish leader to provide 100m naira ($260,000; £200,000) each as surety to the court.

MUST READ: Biafra: Justice Nyako Joins Buhari-Mocking Campaign Of Israel By Granting Kanu "Iron Bail " Conditions

The IPOB leader says he is an Igbo Jew, part of a group who believe they are descendants of the lost tribe of Israel who settled in West Africa.

It is hard to judge the real strength of a movement like Ipob and its leader.
While the misery of the Biafran war put an end to the separatist ambitions of many Biafrans, a lot of Igbo people still feel that they are not fairly treated in Nigeria.

And some argue that President Muhammadu Buhari is doing little to help that. After all, he was a soldier in the army that defeated the separatists in 1970.

READ THIS TOO: Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu's Iron Bail: Another Ploy To Elongate Biafra Restoration Project

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, on the other hand, was recently celebrated for opening a conversation on what happened during the Biafran war.

What happens to Mr Kanu and Ipob next is not clear.

The movement may go the way of Massob (Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra), an earlier separatist movement. Massob lost some of its influence after its leader was jailed in 2005 and released two years later.

This year marks 50 years since the Biafran war began.
What the interest in Mr Kanu and his movement shows more than anything else is Nigeria's 50-year failure to put the idea of Igbo separatism to rest.

BIAFRA: ISRAEL PRIME MINISTER BLASTS WORLD LEADERS ON THEIR DEAFENING SILENCE ON BIAFRA GENOCIDE AND OTHERS

 BIAFRA:
ISRAEL PRIME MINISTER BLASTS WORLD LEADERS ON THEIR DEAFENING SILENCE OVER BIAFRA GENOCIDE AND OTHERS

25th April 2017

While two of the elements that made the Holocaust possible still exist – deep-seated hatred for Jews and world apathy in the face of horrible crimes – the third element, Jewish weakness, is no longer, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday.

Netanyahu, speaking at Yad Vashem at the annual ceremony marking the start of Holocaust Remembrance Day, articulated what can fairly be called his overall strategic doctrine. “The simple truth is that in our world, the existence of the weak is in doubt. When facing murderous countries and organisations, their chances of survival are not great. The strong survive, the weak are erased,” he stated.

"THE STRONG SURVIVE, THE WEAK ARE ERASED"...NETANYAHU AT HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL

Netanyahu said that the Jewish people experienced this during the Holocaust, “and that lesson is in front of our eyes at all times. The lesson is that we must be able to defend ourselves, by ourselves, against all threats and all enemies. Those who plan to annihilate us are placing themselves in danger of annihilation.”

Netanyahu said this was neither a provocation nor an exaggeration, but rather “the only way to truly ensure our future.

And we have the ability to do this.”

Netanyahu, who has repeated this theme during Holocaust Remembrance Day addresses he has given over the many years that he has served as prime minister, said, “This lesson guides me every day – in the morning and at night. This is the supreme function, not the only one – but the supreme one – of every prime minister in Israel.”

The premier said that the generations who built and are continuing to build the Jewish state have brought about “the great change in the fate of the Jewish people. We replaced the weakness with strength; from a helpless people we turned into a strong nation; from a nation, without defense we turned into a state with a defence force, one of the strongest in the world.”

While Netanyahu mentioned Iran seven times during his address in 2012, eight times in 2014 and 10 times at the height of his debate with former US president Barack Obama over the Iranian nuclear deal in 2015, he only mentioned the Islamic Republic once on Sunday night, and that was in the context of deep-rooted antisemitism that after 2,000 years still refuses to die.

IN MEMORY OF THOSE LOST IN THE HOLOCAUST, WE MUST STAMP OUT ANTISEMITISM...TRUMP

Just as antisemitism will not disappear in the foreseeable future, Netanyahu said, so too has the apathy of the world to barbarity against others not fundamentally changed.

“True, since World War II there has not been a tragedy similar in scope to the Holocaust,” he said. “But there are many cases where the world stood aside and did not prevent genocide or mass murder: in Biafra, Cambodia, Rwanda, Sudan and also in Syria.”

Netanyahu said that there have been some bright spots in the darkness, and specifically mentioned the “determined response of President [Donald] Trump to the slaughter of Syrian children with chemical weapons.”

Amid some criticism that Israel should be doing more to help the Syrians, Netanyahu said that Israel is not apathetic to what is going on just beyond its border. “We have established a field hospital right at the border, with Israeli doctors – Jews, Druse, Arabs – Israel has treated in that hospital, and at others, thousands of Syrian injured, including many children who were harmed in that cruel war.”

Netanyahu mentioned during his speech the story of Moshe Porat, one of the Holocaust survivors who lit a memorial torch at the ceremony.

Porat, Netanyahu said, was a child from Hungary incarcerated in Mauthausen who had the number 10-80-80 burned onto his forearm.

The prime minister met with Porat last week, and the survivor told him that when he enlisted into the IDF at the age of 17, his army ID number was the same: 10-80-80 “That, in essence, is the entire story of the rebirth: The man is the same man, the number is the same number, but the fate is far from being the same,” Netanyahu said. “We have gone from helplessness to strength, from darkness to light, from death to life.”

The Warsaw Ghetto Plaza at Yad Vashem included Holocaust survivors and their families from Israel and abroad, members of youth groups, foreign dignitaries and, of course, the political, civic and religious leaders of the nation.

As always, there was a military honor guard from the Israel Defense Forces, to symbolize the fact that Israel can now defend itself and, if necessary, Diaspora Jews as well.

Even though Holocaust survivors are fading out of the nation, this night in the calendar is extremely important for them. It is proof that their suffering is recognized, and for those who have families, so is their triumph against those who sought to destroy the Jewish people.

As always, Holocaust survivors, aided by young members of their families, lit the beacons which serve as both candles of memory and lights of hope for the future.

The survivors were Hungarian- born Esther Miron, who was in Auschwitz and Birkenau; Greek-born Moshe Has-Elion, who was in Auschwitz; Polish- born Moshe Jakubowitz, who was in Majdanek; Algerian- born Jeanine Sebbane-Bouhanna, who was in hiding in France and whose brother was murdered in Sobibor; Hungarian- born Porat, who was on the death march to Mauthausen; Polish-born Max Privler, who was shot in a mass killing, but climbed out of the pit afterwards and found shelter with Ukrainian friends; and Bessarabian- born Elka Abramowitz, who was mercilessly forced to go on foot to Transnistria by the Romanian Army, which collaborated with the Nazis.

At the ceremony, President Reuven Rivlin spoke of the two distinct approaches to the Holocaust. One is the universal approach, which negates the Holocaust as a unique, unparalleled event in the history of the Jewish people and places it as yet another example of genocide and racism.

Rivlin characterized this as a dangerous approach that downplays the significance of the Holocaust, distorts history, denies the program of systematic extermination specifically targeting the Jewish people and denies that antisemitism is a centuries-old malignant disease.

The second approach reflects Israel’s world view, wherein prevention of another Holocaust is paramount.

On this point, Rivlin said, he had been at odds with his mentor, Menachem Begin, who told him on the eve of the IDF’s entry into Lebanon in June 1982, that the alternative was another Treblinka.

According to this approach, Rivlin said, Israel’s raison d’etre is the prevention of the next Holocaust. It transforms the essence of collective Jewish identity into a joint escape from being massacred.

While not denying the possibility of an existential threat to Israel, Rivlin said the second approach is dangerous as well, because it obscures the richness of Jewish life before the Holocaust.

“The Jewish people was not born in Auschwitz,” he said.

Rivlin suggested a third approach, in which the Jewish people survived the Holocaust and witnessed its own rebirth as a nation. “Neither one nor the other should be forgotten,” he said.

Mindful of the upsurge in antisemitism that is instilling fear in Jews around the world, Rivlin said: “We must remember our brothers and sisters in the Diaspora and our obligation to [ensure] their safety and welfare.”

BIAFRA: 30TH MAY SIT-AT-HOME, A LITMUS TEST/MOCK REFERENDUM FOR IPOB

April 18, 2017

A direct order has been issued by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu to Sit at home and honour our fallen heroes, and Biafrans all over the world has hearkened to it. Come May 30th this year, the Nigerian government and the international community will witness how resolute we are to restore our sovereign nation Biafra.

It is going to be a remembrance day with difference because it will serve a dual purpose in the quest for our freedom. It will serve as a mock referendum in showing our readiness to leave this evil British contraption called Nigeria and as well show our unalloyed respect to our fallen heroes and heroines who paid the ultimate price for our nation Biafra.

Come may 30th 2017, Biafrans all over the world will remember those killed on the altar of one Nigeria, especially those who were massacred in Eke-Nkpor in Anambra state by the Nigerian army during the previous year's remembrance day which is still fresh in our mind.

I can still remember vividly well how the murderous Nigerian army opened fire on the crowd of Biafrans singing and chanting the names of our fallen heroes in Eke Nkpor Anambra state. I still remember how the soldiers got to the venue and surveyed our people singing the songs of freedom waving the Biafran flags in the air. I still remember how they revised their hilux vehicles only to return back in some couple of minutes with a witch doctor and many reinforcement and started shooting aimlessly like mad dogs.

I still remember how every soldier was eager to test their weapon on the defenseless Biafrans who were only holding Biafran flags in their hands, I still remember how our people were falling like trees. I still remember how the soldiers were shooting those who fell down while running away to make sure they are dead and dousing some with acid.

I still remember how they were packing those killed in their hilux vehicles as if they were packing dead sardines. On May 30th 2017, for the sake of Biafrans murdered in cold blood, between 1966 till date, we will
SIT AT HOME.

For the sake of Bruce Mayrock, that 20 year old student at Columbia university, whose series of letters to the world leaders during the Biafran genocidal war was ignored, who subsequently set himself ablaze on the lawns in front of the United Nations building in protest against the injustices meted out on Biafrans, we will sit at home.

For the sake of that Belgium gallant soldier  Marc Goosens, who put his life on the line by fighting the invading Nigerian troops on the open terrain during the invasion of Onitsha in November 1968, who was shot from up by an Egyptian pilot in a war jet and died defending our mother land, we will sit at home.

For the sake of Major Taffy Williams, and Rolf Steiner, French legionnaire who died that we might be free, we will sit at home.

For the sakes of those innocent Biafran civilians who were massacred by Nigerian forces in Aba general hospital with Nepalm bomb on July 12, 1968, we will sit at home.

That day is a sacred day. A day that the sun is going to stand still yet again and our resolve to exit Nigeria will be put to test.

Our fallen heroes must be remembered.

Biafra: Between France's Benevolence towards Biafra in 1967-70 And Denys Gauer's Viciousness

March 18, 2017

The French people are known for their strong opposition to oppression which led to the French Revolution (1789-1798) and eventually gave birth to what is known today as modern France. The modern France evolved around the age long philosophy of “Liberty”, “Equality”, and “Fraternity” which the government and good people of France have been upholding despite various influences from dynamism of international politics.

During the Biafran genocide (1967-1970), French people despite belonging to the western bloc, and also a member of NATO decided to diplomatically say a big NO to the Nigerian carnage against Biafran civilians. US, despite seeing the horror of civilian bombardment could not do much due to British influence and campaign of calumny against the Biafran populace. France discarded the British influence and moved in to save thousands of Biafrans from perishing by influencing her Francophone friends to absorb Biafran refugees. The post Biafra-Nigeria civil war cost France a lot no doubt, and Biafrans till eternity will remain grateful to the French people for their noble gesture and timely intervention.

It is important to note here that Biafrans never took war to the Nigerian state, rather it was the Nigerian oppressive state who raised militias in the north that massacred hundeds of Biafran civilians for no just cause. It was the same Nigerian government that unleashed the carnage and made sure the dead bodies of Biafrans killed in the Northern part of Nigeria were transported down to Biafraland as a clear warning which led to provocation. Britain applauded the culprits, the defunct OAU applied red tapism, and the Nigerian government defended the perpetrators of the massacre simply because the life of an average Biafran means nothing to Hausa-Fulanis.

During this period, France never towed the line of evil Britain and the others who insidiously concurred to the genocide with the deafening silence. We (Biafrans) owe a lot to the French people and wish they maintain their clear repulsive stance against evil. By principle, Ambassadors are only representing the interest of their nations’ positions in their various host states. What they say matters a lot as it is conventionally expected that their words should be in tandem with their home state foreign policy. But history has equally shown us cases of various Ambassadors who deviated from their home state position on certain issues out of selfishness, which often result to an un-analysed response to critical issues of their host country.

The statement credited to Mr. Denys Gauer i can tentatively say stems from an un-examined mind, reason being that France unlike Britain, supported Biafrans during the war to avert genocide which unfortunately did not happen as Biafrans were overwhelmed by Anglo-Russo alliance against her nation. It is atrocious for Mr. Gauer to spew such words considering that France wholly supported the Biafra cause in fighting a defensive war; perhaps Mr. Gauer needs to jog his mind back to history just in case he is bereft of knowledge about the events that took place during the civil war of 1967-70 and the role France played in it.
Is it possible that a humane nation who supported Biafrans' war of survival and attrition will suddenly abandon us now when our approach is more holistic and diplomatic in line with the UN's law?  Such political configuration engineered by Mr. Denys Gauer does not hold sway as Biafrans are set to have their nation fully restored either way.

The unwavering support of France during the Biafra genocide era was not a mistake, rather a move birthed out of good conscience and good will that will never be forgotten. Extending such position in another era where Biafrans are once again facing threat of extinction in the hands of a blood-thirsty tyrant (Muhammadu Buhari) is of the essence and which will be highly appreciated. While many countries who supported the Biafra genocide in various ways are still re-evaluating their positions, France is expected to consolidate on their past efforts, good will and love shown towards Biafrans.

Britain is on the verge of abandoning Nigeria for her many internal quagmires which if not looked into could mar the sick inland. While Britain is still as evil as ever, France i believe is humane and will not shy away from her pious stance irrespective of what Mr. Denys Gauer says; they must understand that if there is any time to support Biafrans once again, the right time is now.

Notwithstanding, the world must understand that the Biafra restoration project is not anchored on the support of mere mortal but the almighty creator of the universe; IPOB has come thus far without the support of anyone despite the ordeals they have passed through especially since the murderous Buhari-led government started and we are even more determined to get what belongs to us whether or not France or any other nation support our call for freedom or not.

Biafra: Anti-Biafra Stance Shows France's Fight Against Terrorism Is Just a Charade

March 15, 2017

He that feeds on human flesh should, first of all, pinch him/herself and see how painful it is. Those who abhors cohabitation with Muslims should not ever think of colonizing or amalgamating them with others. If you cannot help people out of evil manipulation don't ever contribute to their pains. Whatever it is that you want for yourself also wish to others.

When France was attacked by Muslims terrorists (ISIS), the whole world joined hands together and fought for them. How woeful and hypocritical of France who vowed to end Muslims attack on Christians is now aiding them against Christian Biafrans in Nigeria. France that detests seeing their people being killed by Muslim fundamentalists is now seeing to it that Christians of Biafran extraction are wiped out of extinction- why?

Read also:BIAFRA: A NATION THAT IS UNCONQUERABLE

We have not sought for your help, and we never anticipated it either, but at least, if you can't help, do not add to the pain we are going through already. You enjoy a freedom of worship in your land, but Biafrans are presently being systematically eliminated and earmarked for extermination in the Nigerian Islamic state just because we are Biafrans and Christians.

France has never condemned the Nigerian government in their campaign of calumny and killing of innocent Biafran people, neither did they condemn the illegal incarceration of the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, rather they went ahead to display great height of hypocrisy by aiding the Buhari-led murderous regime to continue with his islamization agenda against Biafrans.

Why support a penchant core Muslim country against the peaceful Biafrans who are just seeking to take their country back. By supporting Nigeria's terrorist government against Biafran Christians, France is only fueling the fire that will consume them in few years to come.

France should thread with caution, and must never think of supplying arms to the government of Nigeria because they are determined to annihilate the entire Christians in Biafra with those weapons. All we want is our freedom from this terrorist government headed by Muhammadu Buhari.

We have the inallienable right to restore our father land that was forcefully taken away from us by the British and married with people of diverse culture, religion and value system. We want to restore our land, and France should not be an impediment to this effort.

We  have vowed to get Biafra or die trying to get Biafra because life without Biafra means absolute nothing to us. We are not begging anyone to help us in building our Nation, Biafra. It is our God given Nation to our ancestors and we have vowed to restore it and not even the whole force on earth can stop it.

Biafra: Open Letter To Biafraland Traditional Rulers On The Evil Scheme Of The British Government Against Biafra

March 9, 2017

It is not a secret that in recent times, the British government in their usual connivance with Nigeria have been hopping from one Igbo traditional rulers’ palace to another in what they call “a solidarity visit” to the monarchs.

Notable among them, is the recent visit of a British delegation led by the British High Commissioner, Harriet Thompson on 12th of last month to the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe.

It is widely believed that their premeditated visits to these monarchs are not unconnected with the current rave of the Biafra agitation and so Britain is doing all in their capacity to scuttle the movement from actualization.

Information has also reached all quarters about the visit of the delegate from the British high commission to the traditional rulers in Biafraland with the hideous intention to deceive them into withdrawing support for the restoration of Biafra. More disturbing of this report is that the British high commission wants some of these traditional rulers to condemn the youth who will be forced into violence should the British high commission succeed in eliminating Nnamdi Kanu.

Some of these traditional rulers are unlettered and ignorant of the knowledge of history and how the British empire has always deceived our people into instability and chaos over the centuries, while they continued to pilfer and loot our resources.

Read also:THE NEED FOR THE UNHOLY ALLIANCE OF BRITAIN AND NIGERIA TO END AFTER BREXIT FROM EU

Some African leaders have learnt these lessons but most of the traditional rulers in Biafraland are still oblivious of these vicious and barbaric plots by the British government to continue to enslave our people using our traditional rulers whom they cow into subservience to themselves in order to continue with their selfish and vicious objectives in Biafraland.

One would have thought that these Igbo monarchs they visit having knowledge of what is obtainable in history and how posterity will not be merciful to them should they accept or even contemplate to sell-out Biafra this time, a piece of reminder is at this moment most suitable for them.

Throughout history, the British government has always worked with deception to destabilize their colonies and other territories by using the people against themselves to achieve its hideous selfish objectives. They are only out to protect their interests and doesn’t have friends. Whoever aligns his interests with Britain, automatically becomes their friends but whatever interest Britain have, they will only pursue that within and under the Republic of Biafra as we won’t allow them to destroy us this time around.

The British government have especially used and deceived greedy traditional rulers and political leaders for their vicious plots. They don’t care how the people fares, so long as their interests are well covered, otherwise they will do whatever they can to protect it even if it means subjecting the people to untold hardship, bondage and sufferings.

Read also:BIAFRA: BRITAIN'S UGLY ROLE IN THE ONGOING KILLINGS OF BIAFRANS BY THE REPRESSIVE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT.

They have never had the best interest of their colonies at heart but instead they are only out for their own selfish gains.

This is a new era and of civilization, any traditional ruler and/or political leaders who buys the deception of the British government and allows themselves to be used as pawns or tools of subjugation against our people would be considered a fool, a traitor and a terrorist forever and would certainly regret their actions and inactions against our people. They will be treated as slaves and outcasts when the time for retribution comes, they won’t be able to evade or escape from it.

Our traditional rulers should know that the British government is only out to use and dump them and so does not have the best interest of the Biafran people and Black people in general at heart.

On the other hand, the Britons should also not be deluded to believe that the traditional rulers have the trust and full backing of the people and would be able to control what will follow should any harm befall Nnamdi Kanu.

It is evidential that the British government is vehemently brutish by going further to lobby to continue the evil they have done in our land, instead of being remorseful and compensatory of the atrocities they have committed on our people. In other words, instead of looking for ways to help genuinely and honourably to address the issues that resulted in the agitation for Biafra (since they created the Nigerian problem through a forceful amalgamation), they are going further to escalate it by plotting to eliminate the IPOB leader in order to continue to enslave the Biafran people and loot their resources in the guise of one Nigeria.

Read also:THE BRITISH EMPIRE SHOULD NOT FORGET BIAFRA EKUMEKU WAR OF 1883 - 1914 IN A HURRY

The British government should be vehemently warned to stay away from the perpetration of their vicious plots as it portends destruction and to quash their malicious intents of causing chaos in Biafraland because the traditional rulers whom they aim to deceive cannot contain what will follow should any harm come to Nnamdi Kanu.

The traditional and political leaders should also learn from history that the British government never has the interest of our people at heart but instead they specialize in deceiving and causing chaos, for their own hideous and selfish gains.

The traditional rulers in Biafraland should know that they attained those positions for the general benefit of the people, not for their own selfish interests and therefore should support the restoration of Biafra with anything within their possession and should never heed to the deceptions of the British government.

BIAFRA: NIGERIA: THE BRITISH ATOMIC BOMB IS SET TO EXPLODE

February 26, 2017

It has always been a British way of life to divide the people mentally and invoke the gullible ones among them to wreak havoc. 70% of British former colonies are still suffering such Anglo-induced carnages unleashed upon her. Britain relaxes with minority view against the popular choices, hence the minority view serves No 10 Downing Street.

While the “little boy” dropped by America never interrupted the industrial growth in Japan and other Asian countries, the British Atomic Bomb dropped in Africa (Nigeria) did not only distort and destroy African socio-economic organic evolution, it went as far as incinerating over six million lives and still counting. Yet the world and her agencies still feign ignorant of British carnage called Nigeria.

Read also: BIAFRA:BRITAIN'S UGLY ROLE IN THE ONGOING KILLINGS OF BIAFRANS BY THE REPRESSIVE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT

While U.S feels sorry for the Manhattan Project that gave birth to “little boy”, Britain is bragging herself over the Lugardan Project that gave birth to the worst human disaster called “Nigeria”. United States did the noble thing by taking responsibility through her post-war policy implementation in Japan that brought up Japan from her knees; but in the case of British carnage (Nigeria), she keeps lobbying and promoting the continuation of her existence to the detriment of Biafrans.

Like the joint global attention and assistance given to Japan, so should the world in her entirety rise and monitor the peaceful disintegration of the contraption called Nigeria. America has been known for her moral and rational disposition when it comes to issues that has to do with sanctity of human lives. Now that there is a vicious circle of different agitation in various quarters that make up Nigeria, there is an urgent need to fix it by supporting its dismemberment in order to save and preserve lives.

U.S should take the lead to save the plunging of the contraption into another war by pushing for referendum. Allowing the people to do it in their own way could be disastrous to the entire African continent. Why I emphasis on US taking the lead is due to the lukewarm attitude of AU over an impending danger. I believe that when US takes the lead others will follow suit.

BIAFRA: WHILE WE SLEPT BRITAIN STOLE EVERYTHING: BUT KANU HER CITIZEN HAS AWAKENED US TO REALITY

February 25, 2017

While we slept! Yes! While our forefathers slept, the enemies came and put a knife in the bond that held us together and divided us.

They started by telling us that we have no history. And because we kept quiet and shun them not, they stepped up their "game" by stealing our identity, then they stole our bond of unity, our culture, our original way of writing called Nsibidi, our way of worship and language. And to truly perfect their narrative that we have no history, they proceeded to lie that the Pyramids our ancestors built in Udi, Enugu state, Biafraland was but a charade.

And to ensure that we were permanently divided to a point of non reconcilability, they set up the minority commissions only in our axis of the country (The Eastern region) to exploit their self created difference that never was until their arrival. But they turned around and maintained the Monolithic North inspite of the over 200 minorities in the "North".

Fortunately for them, they succeeded in telling the Igbo man from the head of River Niger that he is totally different from the one from across the River Niger. They equally succeeded in dividing us into Bendel Ibo, Delta Ibo, mainland Igbo, original Igbo and any other name they can think about.

While we slept, they told their "self created minorities" that the Igbos were their problems. They planted the fear of Igbo domination in their midst. But have till this day failed to tell or show any one that an Igbo man has dominated before.

While we slept! While our forefathers slept, they merged us with people we have never heard off. People with a strange life style who came from the Fulbe Futa Jallon. Who place more value on the life of their cattles than the sacred life of a human. Who could take the lives of his "fellow country men" because of the cartoon of his religious prophet drawn in faraway Denmark.

They lived because we slept. They lied because we kept mute. They told lies against us and it succeeded because we had no media to counter their evil intentions and narratives.

While our parents slept, they stole our original Biafran Identity and called us Nigerians. A name that is totally strange to us. A name without a "meaningful meaning". A name given to us by a wayward mistress. Name that even a Dog will ordinarily not be happy to answer.

Offcourse, the enemy came through the British colonists. They gave us the Holy Bible and asked us to close our eyes for prayer; but by the time we opened our eyes, our land and its mineral contents were gone. Then they proceeded further to run a media blockade against us.

And because of their media advantage, they told the world that January 1966 Coup D'etat which was planned and executed by Junior Army officers with representatives from all regions of the country: Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu from the Mid-Western region, Emmanuel Ifeajuna from the Eastern region, John Atom Kpera from the Northern region, Adewale Ademoyega from the Western region was an Igbo Coup. And because it suited their narrative of massacring our people, all Igbos became one. Infact, at that point, all Easterners became Igbos.

That was the perfect opportunity they needed to kill us in millions. While we were reading the Holy Bible they gave us, they joined forces with those with Quran to kill over 3.5million of us.

But thank God that we are finally awake today. Our awakening was divine. It just cant be explained. It started like a joke and then caught the fire of revival within months. And then within a twinkling of an eye, the truth in the message overtook the lies of several decades and corrected its evil intentions and its one sided narratives.

It all started with that small portable equipment that once coupled together becomes a radio station called 'Radio Biafra.'

Read also:BIAFRA: RADIO BIAFRA: THE MOUTHPIECE OF THE BIAFRAN NATION

Thank Chukwu Okike Abiama that he woke us up through his son, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We have awakened to demand the restoration of our lost identity. We are now awake to demand unification with our brothers and sisters, kiths and kins. Thank God that through the awakening message of his son that we now know that "Igbo" "Ijaw" "Idoma" "Isoba" "Isoko" "Igala" "Ibibio" "Ishekiri" etc are all one.

We are now awake to the reality that: If you have 4 market days and your women tie 2 piece wrapper, then you are one of us.

The irony of it is that the stealing of our identity started with the coming of the British colonists and our awakening started from the teachings by a dual British citizen through a radio station (Radio Biafra) headquartered in Britain.

Although we lost it all through them, we have today gotten the key to our recovery and restoration through one of us who is also one of them but has mastered their act of craftiness and deceit. What they know today we are equally aware of it.

The truth is that we will never sleep again. If we must sleep, then it must be with one eye opened.

Yesterday, we dined with them using a short spoon. Today, we have awakened to the knowledge that with only long spoon should we dine with our enemies.

Finally, we have awakened to restore our Biafran identity. But while we are at it, never again, we will we allow outsiders to tell our stories. Thank God that we can never be media blockade again courtesy of our Radio Biafra and Biafra Television...we are no longer asleep, but wide awake.

Biafra: Deafening Silence Of AU On The Ongoing Genocide In Nigeria Is Endorsement Of Killings

February 25, 2017

Africans as always will never cease to behave as described. Events overtime has shown that African leaders are very myopic to situations around them and the world. It has become worrisome that there is no exceptional leader that the rest of the world can liken to Nelson Mandela whose ideology triggered revolution in South Africa to end Apartheid. The fact that there is no 'big player' within the region as obtainable in Organisation of American State (OAS) where U.S has much influence is a call for worry. All we have are frail looking mediocre whose penchant for corruption knows no bound in the AU.

The weak posture of AU has often times affected the Sub-regional organisations within the continent. As most of the sub-regional organisation look forward to putting in place structures that will benefit the region, AU as the mother union puts in disarray those structures using various tactics.

Read also:BIAFRA: THE CALL FOR YOUTHS TO REVOLT AGAINST NIGERIA AND SUPPORT REFERENDUM

It is arguable that the root cause of AU's dysfunctionality is the gene embedded in a black man to do evil, some might see it as lack of political and mental will to define and pursue the African course, while others might see it from the point of having sub-regional organisations lacking indigenised purpose and vision. Whichever way it is being viewed, the point to note here is that AU as a body is an embodiment of shame and disgrace to the continent, a union whose vision has been corroded with the black man's love for condoning evil.

Unlike the EU that organically evolved from Benelux Union of 1944 with a clear purpose of solving continental need, AU is a product of 'copycatting' with no clear purpose of putting the black continent in order; their only achievement is the institutionalisation of regional bloc. AU is more-or-less a “toothless Bulldog” marred by bureaucracy and endless summits with no positive results. While other regional blocs are characterized by summitries and conference with actions that has yielded positive results and proferred solutions to their regional plights, AU runs an inverse structure that has not only tarnished the image of the black race, but rendered Africa useless before the world.

Read also:BIAFRA: AN OPEN LETTER TO COL. AMINU ILIYASU ON HIS FAILED ATTEMPT TO BLACKLIST IPOB

One keeps wondering why such organisation in a continent with multifaceted socio-political challenges confronting her cannot tackle those issues like the EU is doing.

In the case of the ongoing genocide against Biafrans that has been making news headlines and trending on social media, one cannot help but wonder why AU is not talking, much more proferring solutions to stopping it from further escalating; rather we have a distance regional organisation like EU that has been outspoken against the ceaseless human rights violation against Biafrans, doing what AU ought to have done.

Read also:BIAFRA: I WILL DESTROY NIGERIA WITH THE TRUTH AND I AM DOING JUST THAT: - NNAMDI KANU

While Amnesty International (AI) has spoken without fear or favour against such unwarranted carnage on the Biafran People, AU has continued to maintain deafening silence as if Biafra exists in Asia and not her continent. If AU cannot lend her voice in condemning the ongoing extermination of the Biafra race, despite condemnations of such actions from all over the world, it simply means that AU is just a group of 'time wasters' and should be overhauled or scrapped entirely.

It is a height of double standard and hypocrisy for regional organisation who receives aid from donors on maintenance of human rights to feign blind, deaf and dumb in the ongoing Anglo-Nigeria carnage on Biafran people. If there is anytime AU is expected to speak, that time is now.  She ought to join these various international voices to condemn and sanction Nigeria for the horror she is committing against the Biafran people.

Read also:BIAFRA: FREEDOM IS NOT GIVEN BUT TAKEN BY FORCE: BIAFRA RESTORATION IS A MUST

AU's refusal to do so is a bad precedent that will hunt her in the future and to an extent delink her from other notable bodies that holds the sanctity of human lives in high esteem. Nigeria should be used as a scapegoat in order to deter others who might wish to tow same lane like the evil contraption is currently leading. The constant violation of human rights, especially that of the Biafran people must be accounted for by the Nigerian state.

The continued detention of Nnamdi kanu and others despite court pronouncements to release them is a big slap to AU's human right position in which Nigeria is a signatory to. The earlier AU relieves Nigeria of her membership in the union and call for Biafra referendum, the better for Africa and humanity as the consequences will be contemptuous.
