RUGA: No land to invading bloodthirsty Fulani terror herdsmen - IPOB warns

IPOB PRESS RELEASE | NOVEMBER 5, 2019 | THE BIAFRA TIMES

It has come to the knowledge and attention of the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) over the recent unguarded threat by the leadership of Miyetti Allah against Biafrans over their resumption of the illegal terror induced movement of cattle through farms and villages in Biafraland. This is not the first time representatives of the caliphate through their various mouthpiece have threatened the lives of peaceful law-abiding citizens of Biafra. It happened with their treasonous quit notice and has continued through Ango Abdulahi et al culminating in this abominable utterance by the leadership of Miyetti Allah.

We IPOB do not blame Miyetti Allah but the caliphate imposed spineless and compromised political leaders that occupy government houses across our land. Having sensed the fear, impotence and political hopelessness of these quislings that call themselves governors in the East, Miyetti Allah (which is the glorified name for Fulani herdsmen) have been emboldened to continue issuing threats of further bloodshed if their demands are not met.

The most shocking of all is that ordinary citizens who for years now have been at the receiving end of Fulani terror and savagery appear transfixed with fear and have wimpishly surrendered their fate to murderous cattle herders from God knows where. Miyetti Allah along with their foot soldiers in the Nigerian army must understand that their deal with south east governors is not applicable to IPOB. The same way IPOB today is dedicated to the defence of Ebonyi State and Anambra West before it, is how every inch of Biafran territory will be defended. Our ongoing resistance in Ebonyi is testament to this very fact.

South-East political leadership may have surrendered our land but we IPOB will never and can never contemplate such. We will not surrender the land of our ancestors to this invading bloodthirsty horde from the Sahel no matter the political package they wrapped it under.

IPOB is ready for these terrorists in whatever guise they might use to come into our land. One thing is certain, Miyetti Allah with their support and sponsorship from the federal government, South East governors led by Dave Umahi and Ohaneze Ndigbo led by Nina Nwodo will not succeed no matter what they do.

Miyetti Allah and their sponsors are the real terrorists and shall remain so in our eyes. Their strategy of threats and terror cannot work with us. They cannot succeed because IPOB is here on the ground and meeting them head-on.  Ruga settlement nonsense is dead in our land and cannot be imposed on us.

Purported arrest of IPOB family members in Ebonyi, a ballant lie concocted to pave way for RUGA settlement

The Biafra Times | August 17, 2019

IPOB PRESS RELEASE

Our attention has been drawn to the purported mass arrest of supposed members of IPOB in Ebonyi State by Governor Dave Umahi and his Fulani handlers who mischievously labeled those they abducted as Biafrans planning an anniversary. This attempt by Dave Umahi to prove to his Fulani masters that he is anti-Biafra and IPOB has led him to round-up and illegally lock up landowners in Ebonyi State under the pretext of fighting Biafra agitators but of which the true intention is to pave the way for Fulani herdsmen to take over community lands for their RUGA settlement in the state.

We the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and it's leadership worldwide wish to categorically state that those Dave Umahi claim to have arrested in Ebonyi are not IPOB family members because our movement is not in the habit of celebrating any anniversary either in Biafraland or in the diaspora, since the inception of this great movement.

It came to us as a surprise to hear the media blast about the purported arrest of IPOB family members when we had no event in Ebonyi State that would necessitate the gathering of people on a large scale. Dave Umahi and his Fulani overlords in the Police and Army in Abakiliki have instead engaged in land grabbing arrest of innocent citizens especially indigenes of Amasri in Afikpo LGA of Ebonyi State who were merely strategising on how to protect their land from Fulani terror herdsmen. By tagging these villagers IPOB, Dave Umahi sought to deflect attention from this dastardly act of illicit land grabbing for RUGA going on in Ebonyi State. IPOB do not host events in the bushes or forests, rather we honour our heroes with a general strike on designated days of the year.

This blatant lie and misinformation sold to the media that IPOB members were arrested in Ebonyi is simply a lie designed to mask the horrors of RUGA implementation by stealth going on in Ebonyi State and to deflect attention away from the secret ethnic cleansing of villages to pave way for Fulani settlements in Ebonyi.

We are very much aware that Fulani herdsmen wield considerable influence and power in the affairs of governance of Enugu and Ebonyi State but we IPOB are determined to oppose them every step of the way.  Ebonyi and Enugu will never become another conquered Fulani territory not while IPOB is in existence. We shall continue to confront and drive them away from wherever we observe them engaged in illegal occupation of ancestral lands.

Dave Umahi may seek to please his Fulani masters by sacrificing the lives of Ebonyi indigenes but we must warn him that he is moving down a dangerous path that will inevitably consume him and those around him. He is playing a very dangerous game from which he will never emerge unscaved.

Umahi's sworn duty to protect ordinary citizens of Ebonyi State must be his primary duty not to use instruments of state coercion like the army and police to protect Fulani Jihadists and conquerors disguised as Fulani cattle herders because of his slavish allegiance to Sokoto caliphate. He should see and learn from what became of another Igbo Fulani slave Rochas Okorocha who despite having confirmed Hausa blood and years of groveling devotion to his Fulani masters, is today being dragged from pillar to post and humiliated at every given opportunity by the same masters he devoted his life to. A word is enough for the wise.

Biafra: The Price of Treachery and Sabotage

August 16, 2019

By Princewill Akubumma | for Biafra Writers

The English dictionary defines treachery as betrayal of trust and sabotage as causing irreparable damage to a cause or to the collective interest of the people. Unfortunately, these two action words are the bedrock upon which the leaders of South-East advance their political ambitions. The dire consequences such action could generate mean nothing to them.

Calamity befalls a people when they fail to learn from history. Many nations and ethnic nationalities in Nigeria today are passing through tribulations as a result of sabotage and treachery.  Their fathers, seeking one favour or the other, had sold out in the past.

The story of Afonja is a good case study. For self-gain, he called in the Fulani to help him fight his own people. The consequences of his action came later when he got assassinated by the same Fulani he invited and Ilorin turned an Emirate with allegiance to Sokoto Caliphate. The story is same with Hausas and other indigenous people of the North whose forefathers aided Othman Dan Fodio in his conquest. Today their descendants are all suffering.

During the genocidal war of 1967 – 1970, the Nigerian government then led by Gen Yakubu Gowon, invited mercenaries from the Sahel region and other regions of Sub-Saharan Africa to help them decimate Biafra. These heartless and cold-blooded mercenaries called Gwodo Gwodo, which literally means “sweepers,” carried out much of the atrocious crimes we heard after the war. Whenever the federal troops overran a Biafran town, Gwodo Gwodo will move in for mop-up operation, putting under the sword any living thing found. They would gorge out people’s eyes, rip open the stomach of pregnant women, smash the babies, and even bury people alive.

The Gwodo Gwodo, it must be understood, are the wandering Fulanis from the Sahel. Today they have teamed up with their brothers brought in by Othman Dan Fodio to unleash terror on the indigenous people.

Not learning a thing from history, the governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, is selling his people out to the dangerous Fulani race just to obtain political favour. Lured with the deceptive promise of 2023 presidential slot, Dave Umahi has gone hare-way in his anti-Biafra war.  Umahi is banning IPOB in Ebonyi state while romancing with the Fulani that has been killing our people.

Dave Umahi cannot claim ignorance of the menace of the Fulani herdsmen for he has once acknowledged the terror they unleash on our people. Yet rather than ban the activities of Fulani herdsmen and their parent body, Myetii Allah, the non-thinking governor is bringing his hammer down on IPOB.

The slavish governor must be reminded that every act of sabotage and treachery against one’s own people has severe consequences. Whosoever that condones evil will one day be haunted by the same evil without mercy. Dear governor, learn from Afonja.

Fulani Herdsmen raping Ebonyi women, desecrating our land – Gov Umahi laments

The Biafra Times | June 3, 2019

By Godwin Aliuna

The governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi has accused herdsmen, especially those domicile at Afikpo North, Onicha and Izzi local government Areas of the state of assaulting and harassing women sexually.

Umahi made this known while addressing stakeholders of the state during a peace talk between herders and farmers, at the Akanu-Ibiam International Conference Centre, Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State.

He lamented that the herders were defiling the land of Ebonyi by allegedly forcing the women into sex.

“There is a problem at Igboagu in Izzi LGA and Isu community in Onicha LGA. I want the chairman of the Miyeti Allah to know that we have a very strong traditional affinity to wives.

“Any Izzi woman, whether the man is from Izzi or outside Izzi and he have sex with the Izzi woman in this place, the land is desecrated and the woman as well is desecrated and cannot return to the husband’s house again and that is our culture.

“And the man that did it, is not allowed to stay in that land. It is the same thing in the entire Ebonyi state. So, where there is raping of women in their farms, is very dangerous.

“That land is cursed and cannot produce any crop again. And again, if that woman gives anything to the husband to eat, that man must die.

“I will like the chairman of the Miyeti Allah to help me to solve this problem of that Isu community where a woman was raped in her husband’s house. He must leave for the land to be cleansed. And the woman also must leave for the land to be cleansed.

“The land must be cleansed before both the herdsman and the woman be allowed to comeback to that place again. If both do not leave, people will start dying in their numbers.

“And of course, if the husband eats anything from the herder or the woman, the man will automatically die. That is the culture and the culture is something that is spiritual,” he stated.

Extortion, brutality by police worst in south east - NHRC gives verdict

The Biafra Times | April 30, 2019

- National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) says police brutality and extortion are highest in the south east

 - The NHRC and other organisations accuse policemen of terrorising the same people they are supposed to protect

 - Segun Awosanya wants every policeman to undergo mental evaluation before being posted Brutality and extortion by men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) are most common in the south east, the zone’s coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Uche Nwokocha, has said.

Nwokocha raised the alarm about alleged police brutality, abuse, intimidation and extortion in the zone noting that the officers in the area had now constituted themselves into a terror group.

Speaking during public tribunal on police corruption, brutally and abuse in southern Nigeria in Owerri, capital of Imo state, she said: “Police corruption, abuse and brutality have become more pervasive in the south east.

“There is high level of impunity and extortion, with illegal checkpoints at every one pole and those who refuse to give in to the extortion by these armed policemen would be severely manhandled.”
According to her, some unfortunate ones have ended up being killed and, thereafter, framed as armed robbers.

She insisted that the anti-kidnapping, anti-cultism and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) have all become agents of terror.

“The extra-judicial killings by officers of the SARS is frightening and efforts by the NHRC and the Network of Police Reforms in Nigeria (NOPRIN) to get the police accountable for these extra-judicial killings have failed.

“In most cases, the police will lie that the culprit has been dismissed, when, in fact, they have been transferred,” she said while describing SARS as being used as debt collectors, for settlement of land and even family disputes, which are supposed to be simply civil matters.

In his observation, the national coordinator of #EndSARS, Segun Awosanya, said the officers in the unit have constituted themselves into an organised crime syndicate, who are above the law.

“Our police system has been operating under the oppressive act of 1943 and, until that act is repealed and replaced with a more progressive one that is in tandem with the administration of criminal justice.

“Today, what we have as police officers are people who constitute themselves into an organised crime syndicate that are above the law and that is why we are calling for the scrapping of SARS or its total overhauling,” he said.

He urged that police officers should be subjected to psychological evaluation because, “you don’t give a gun to a man that is mentally unbalanced.

Herdsmen Killings: Farmers In Ishiagu And The Fulani Fight For Supremacy

By Desmond Ajah | For Biafra Writers

June 19, 2018

EBONYI - After observing the plight of the indigenes of Ishiagu community in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi state, I was moved to interact with the resident farmers and local women. I observed and came to the conclusion that if Biafra is not restored in no distant time, our people will be fully conquered with starvation and whatever that may be before us.

Right from the time of creation, Ishiagu people (farmers and industrialists of Ebonyi state) go to farm at all time and seasons without fear of wild animals or any cloned faces, till the time of cattle breeders migration to pasture for their herds. During those time, the herdsmen guides their cattle from grazing field to another with carefulness and not leaving it unfettered to destroy live crops or pollute the land and water, and even when they meet a farmer in his farmland, they assist him with farm work to gain favour from the farmer, either to gain water or food or both which they equally reciprocate the kind gesture by giving the farmer Nunu Milk.

The herdsmen never fetch or wash their bodies in their host village streams as they apply caution so as to enjoy their stay. At the sign of the approach of raining season, the herdsmen migrate back to the North with their cattle and this has remained a routine existence between them and their host community. All these and other cordial relationships existed between the herdsmen and the people of the Eastern region until these recent years when they have completely turned into a monstrous being.

Presently in Ishiagu and other communities in Biafra land, farmers and villagers now live in fear of impending attacks, molestations, shedding of blood by the jihadist extremists in guise of the Fulani herdsmen of today, both at home and in the farms. This write-up was triggered by the present state of the people of Biafra. The farmers in Ishiagu and other parts of Biafra land no longer go to their farms alone because of the fear of possible attacks by the herdsmen. The farmers now visit their farms or engage in farmworkers in clusters and groups and if there is any day other farmers are heading to other direction different from someone's farm, then you must stay back at home or you risk your wife and children being slaughtered in cold blood by the herdsmen.

Where is the Igbos' pride which lies fearless in every single Igbo man? When and how did we come this far? When did we allow our self-pride and braveness to be silenced and dwindled by the actions of political jobbers in Igbo land who have sold our collective interest for their selfish political interests.

At the present day of this raining and planting season, the herdsmen has taken over farms in Ishiagu and other parts of Biafra land killing, intimidating, raping and molesting their host farmers and inhabitants of the land. At this time of the raining season, the herdsmen and their cattle should be out of the eastern region as being practiced during their time of early migration to the east to give way for farmers to plant their crops but currently the farmers are experiencing heavy influx of cattle and armed herdsmen destroying crops/plants, raping and killing men, women and children. This impunity has recently become more pronounced as the federal government is doing everything possible to empower the herdsmen constitutionally after the failed cattle colony bill. The government is now on the track of making laws to alter the land tenure system to forcefully absorbing and transferring ownership of the land of the Easterners to the herdsmen in the ongoing coastal region land reform.

Biafrans should arise and take forcefully our rightful possession either in peace or in pieces as the Bible is quoted thus, "the kingdom of children of God suffereth violent and only the violent taketh it by force." It is indeed time for the indigenes of Ishiagu to come together as one and reclaim their lost heritage.
