No More Consumption of Fulani Cow in Biafra Land - IPOB Reiterate

Press Statement | February 8, 2022

APRIL 2022 DEADLINE FOR THE STOPPAGE OF FULANI COW CONSUMPTION IN BIAFRA LAND IS SACROSANCT

We the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of our great leader and prophet Mazi Nnamdi KANU, wish to reiterate that our earlier decision to ban the movement and consumption of Fulani cows in Biafra land, from April 2022, is sacrosanct.

We also wish to correct the misinformation and misconceptions surrounding our position on the issue which our enemies are peddling to blackmail us. In the first place, the decision was taken as a last resort after many years of patience over the unprovoked genocidal attacks by Fulani herdsmen on our communities, and the failure of the double-faced Nigeria security agencies to rein in the rampaging Fulani mass murderers.

We have waited enough and can no longer tolerate the docility and criminal silence of the federal government in protecting our communities against these agents of death.

Since their cows have been the reason the Fulani jihadists are slaughtering our people, destroying our farms, raping our women and kidnapping our men for ransom, we have decided to stop consuming these cursed fulani cows which have now become a source of sorrow and death. It's better we are alive and eat no Fulani cows than desire to eat them and be killed.

The world should note that before arriving at this IRREVERSIBLE decision, we have made several appeals to the federal government and the security agencies to stop the Fulani from their atrocities in our land but they looked the other way, leaving our hapless communities at the mercy of these messengers of death. Our patience has been over stretched beyond its elasticity point. We can no longer afford to fold our arms and be waiting for the last man in Biafra land to be killed by Fulani jihadists masquerading as herdsmen.

Our people waste huge sums of money up to three Billion Naira every year on cows meat and we won't allow that to continue and encouraging those who has the money to start breeding our local cows (Efi Igbo) and other farming, IPOB will support them to boasts the farming and animal husbandry business.

So, our decision to ban the movement, sale and consumption of Fulani cows through out Biafra land with effect from April of this year is not borne out of hate but we are safeguarding our land and our people from the evil agenda of fulani. Our decision is born out of the natural desire to preserve our race from being wiped out by the Fulani terrorist Herdsmen.

If you are a Biafran dealing on fulani cows in Biafraland,  its better you look for an alternative now because we won't spear any inch regarding fulani terrorists herdsmen cows after April this year, don't say we don't warn you. A word is enough for the wise.

Evidence Showing That Over 90% Of Citizens Killed By Soldiers And Police In Eastern Nigeria Are Innocent & Defenselessness - International Society

June 17, 2021 | The Biafra Times

Recap

Onitsha, Eastern Nigeria, 17th June 2021:It is recalled that the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law had on 11th and 14th June, 2021 updated its special report of 31st May 2021 and provided more detailed and analytical evidence showing that: in first 160 days of 2021 or 1st January to 10th June, the Nigerian security forces especially soldiers of the Nigerian Army and other branches of the Armed Forces and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and DSS abducted or arrested and incarcerated no fewer than 2500 mostly innocent and law abiding citizens of Igbo Christian extraction; that the abductions or arrests took place in the nine Southeast and South-south States of Anambra, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Rivers; that not less than 500 others were traceably killed including 150 victims of the State backed Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen attacks; that out of the over 2500 abductees or arrestees, not less than 600 were disappeared or feared killed in the captivity of the military; that over 90% of the victims of the above conduct atrocities are innocent, falsely labeled and criminally stigmatized; that soldiers and police turned blind eyes on Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen attacks including the recent massacre of not less than 150 defenseless Igbo Christians and till date no single Jihadist Fulani Herdsman involved has been picked and tried; that over 90% of Police and Military claims of “killing” or “arresting” ESN/IPOB hoodlums/terrorists/supporters/charms provider- native doctors” are false and unfounded; that 14 out of every 15 citizens killed are innocent and defenseless,  out of every 25 arrested, 24 are innocent and law abiding and out of every 60 citizens abducted and disappeared by soldiers, 59 are not most likely to return to their homes or families alive; that out of over 350 victims of the military and police killings, less than 10% of them were combatively involved, out of which 60% were killed outside the law or ought not to have been shot and killed on account of being nonviolent at the time of their shooting and killing; and in other words, they are victims of deadly use of force).

Continuation Of Killings, Abductions & Disappearances In The Last Seven Days

It is our additional finding that in the last seven days or 10th to 17th June 2021, at least 60 more civilian citizens were abducted or arrested in the named nine States, out of which 20 were disappeared by soldiers, 40 taken into detention by police and DSS and at least ten openly killed and questionably labeled. Many, if not most of the renewed conduct atrocities were recorded in Imo and Abia State. Also, in the same last seven days, more than twenty houses and other properties belonging to civilian citizens, who, till date, are unprocessed, unindicted, untried and un-convicted, were set ablaze by soldiers of the Nigerian Military and the Nigeria Police “Tactical”, “Quick Intervention” and “Anti Kidnapping/Cult” squads. In other words, it is correct to say that in the past 167 days of 2021 or 1st January to 17th June, no fewer than 2,560 civilian citizens who are mostly innocent and law abiding were abducted by Nigerian security operatives and held without trial, out of which not less than 620 were disappeared or feared killed in secrecy mainly by soldiers. Not less than 310 traceable deaths including victims of Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen attacks were also recorded.

Abduction, Killing And False Labeling Of Religious Leaders And Custodians Of  The Tradition

The Nigerian security forces in Eastern Nigeria are hatefully and indiscriminately killing and abducting defenseless, innocent and unarmed citizens and labeling them falsely. The security forces in total disregard to sacredness and sanctity of religious and traditional institutions and their custodians have also launched indiscriminate attacks on them, killing and abducting several of them and labeling and stigmatizing them. Since January 2021 in Eastern Nigeria and without concrete investigative evidence, not less than 70 Christian religious leaders and custodians of Traditional religions or their sacred altars have been killed extra-judicially or hatefully abducted and falsely labeled as “ESN/IPOB terrorists” or “native doctors preparing charms for ESN/IPOB hoodlums”. Such hate killings and false labeling are also accompanied by burning down of dozens of Christian and Traditional Religion’s worship centers and desecration of their sacred symbols.  Among them were some 35-40 Christian religious leaders of the Jewish Religion and the African Instituted Churches, a branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria abducted in March and April 2021 by Army and Police in Orlu and environs and falsely labeled “ESN/IPOB hoodlums” and “native doctors preparing charms for ESN hoodlums”.

Several highly respected traditional herbalists have also been attacked and abducted or killed extra-judicially by soldiers and Police including the DCP Abba Kyari’s “IRT”. Funny enough, witnesses have disclosed to Intersociety how the said security operatives dot their operational vehicles and bodies with deadly charms and hire malevolent medicine men to accompany them.  On June 12, 2021, Chief Duru Azubuike, a respected herbalist in Nguru, Mbaise, Imo State, was attacked and killed alongside his nephew by the Imo State Police Command and two days later, a censored statement claimed that: “they were killed by bandits/hoodlums”. On June 8, 2021, the Imo State Police Command falsely claimed to have “arrested two native doctors at Ukwuorji area of Mbaitoli of the State preparing charms for IPOB who also alongside seven others were involved in the attack on Gov Hope Uzodimma’s house at Omuma”. The two were named as ‘Chinedu Nwakaire and Uzoamaka Ugoanyanwu (40 years old”. But on investigation, Intersociety found that the two were just ‘tax collectors’ collecting tolls at Njaba River before allowing access to the visitors especially those from different religions who visit the River for solutions to their personal problems. The seven arrested persons were also found to be visitors to the River, arrested at the River side and falsely labeled.

On 11th June 2021, trucks loaded with soldiers and armored personnel carriers from 34 Brigade, Ohafia invaded Amangwu Ohafia in Abia State and principally targeted to abduct a respected and powerful herbalist, Uchechi Olu George.  The soldiers also moved from house to house, abducting youths and labeling them “ESN/IPOB terrorists”. The provoked situation and attempt to abduct the respected herbalist was physically and spiritually resisted leading to death of several soldiers which forced them to retreat and regroup and storm the Community in war-like style. It was also alleged that a top official of the Government of Abia State was instrumental to the soldiers’ invasion following torching of his house three weeks ago and a lingering rift between him and the powerful herbalist and the youths of the area. In the end, soldiers abducted scores and killed Pius Nwachukwu Michael and one Samuel and injured others including Ndubuisi Agwu and Eke Uche. They also set six houses, four vehicles and three motorcycles on fire and burnt them beyond recognition. The five paramount traditional rulers of the Ohafia Kingdom have also bemoaned incessant harassments and attacks by soldiers on the ancient Community and its clans including mass labeling them as “ESN/IPOB terrorists/supporters”. They also cried out saying that ‘soldiers have turned them and their land into IDP camp.  Same was the case with the traditional rulers in Esien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State who addressed the media on 13th June 2021 lamenting incessant intimidation, harassment and attacks on them and their defenseless natives by soldiers and police. The attacks include abductions, extrajudicial killings and falsely labeling them “ESN/IPOB terrorists/supporters”.

Killing And False Labeling Of Over 30 Innocent Citizens At Ariaria Junction, Aba

On 23rd April 2021, an attempted attack was launched at an Army Roadblock at Ariaria Junction, near the crowded Ariaria International Market in Aba and the attackers retreated and escaped without combative casualty. Reinforcement of soldiers was sent from 144 Battalion and the drafted soldiers opened fire on innocent citizens including nearby shoe makers, Keke riders and other passersby, killing at least 30 and abducting scores of others. The shooting started between 7.30pm and 8pm of same day. Out of those killed, seventeen bodies were dumped at the Old Abia State Teaching Hospital (now mortuary). The soldiers and police picked some of the dead bodies and paraded them as “bodies of ESN gunmen killed while trying to attack soldiers at Ariaria Junction”. As if that was not enough, soldiers gathered over a dozen innocent citizens abducted from the scene and shot them dead at night of the same day. Two of those killed have been identified in the video as Nzubechukwu Nwaigwe, 35 years from Umuneke, Ehime-Mbano in Imo State and one “Ambassador”, who was a gateman/electrician at a property located near the Ariaria Market and a native of Osiri in Ezza Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. Intersociety had studied and shared a video of the shooting possibly given out discreetly by one of the soldiers to an informant who shared same elsewhere. Among the seventeen slain innocent citizens dumped in the said Government mortuary, three have been identified as Citizens David Chukwuka, 21 years old from Igboeze North in Enugu who was a shoe maker at Ariaria Market, Ifeanyi Thomas, 28 years old Ariaria Market based shoe maker and a native of Ozuitem in Bende, Abia State and Okoro Alums, 26 years old Ariaria Market based shoe maker and a native of Amasiri in Ebonyi State.

Killing And False Labeling Of Over Ten Innocent Citizens At Enyeogugu, Abor-Mbaise

On 30th May 2021, the Nigerian military personnel stormed Enyeogugu Market Square in Abor-Mbaise and opened fire killing at least ten innocent citizens and injured others. The Imo State Police Command was immediately contacted and some of the bodies were gathered and later paraded as “bodies of ESN/IPOB gunmen that killed Barr Ahmed Gulak who met their waterloo in exchange of gunfire with gallant security operatives”. The Police claim was investigated by Intersociety and it was found that there was an attack at a police station and the attackers were blocked with a lorry loaded with onions by some Northern Muslims in the area, forcing the gunmen to shoot in the air in anger and scatter baskets-loads of onions which opened the road route leading to their escape without any loss of life. The passersby including church goers and returnees, Okada and Keke riders and others cashed in and were scrambling for the onions when soldiers arrived the scene and opened fire, killing not less than ten and injuring others. The next day, being 31st May 2021, personnel of the 211 Regiment, Nigerian Air Force in Owerri stormed the place with their vehicles and engaged in wanton shop to shop looting and molestation leading to carting away of goods worth millions of naira, looted from at least 20 shops. The Member, representing Abor Mbaise/Ngo Okpala Federal Constituency in the House of Reps, Hon Bede Eke also cried out on 3rd June 2021, saying that ‘security agencies are killing his constituents’. He gave the names of some of the slain victims as Noel Chigbu Nzeribe and Tochi Ekwe, among others.

Other Innocent Citizens Killed And Falsely Labeled

On 3rd June 2021, the Catholic Archbishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, Archbishop Anthony J.V. Obinna visited the Federal Medical Center, Owerri and saw not less than 35 freshly slain corpses dumped by soldiers and police at the mortuary section of the FMC. He had earlier visited the Owerri Prisons on 26th May and saw 106 citizens freshly brought and dumped in the Prisons. These are contained in the Saturday Vanguard of 5th June 2021.  On 29th May 2021, following an attack at the Abia State CID, Umuahia, soldiers and police went on rampage, abducting and killing dozens of innocent citizens. The attackers have attacked and escaped uncaught only for soldiers and police to invade houses and abducted dozens of innocent citizens. Soldiers alone abducted not less than 40 and eight of those they abducted and handed over to the Police the same night were gathered and shot dead and paraded as “bodies of armed ESN/IPOB killed in exchange of gunfire with gallant security operatives who repelled attack at the State CID Headquarters at Umuahia”. Among the eight innocent citizens abducted in their house the same evening and killed same night are: Obinna Onyebuchi Egekwu, 30 years old young father of two and his nephew, Onyebuchi Anthony Amadi, 27 years old. They hailed from Umuahia in Abia State. Till date, the whereabouts of over 40 others abducted and taken away by soldiers have remained unknown.

Citizen Oguchi Unachukwu, a Germany based Businessman was shot and killed by personnel of the 211 Regiment of the Nigerian Air Force in Owerri. He was killed on 1st June 2021 at the entrance Gate of Sam Mbakwe Air Port in Owerri on his way back to Germany. Citizen Oliver Mmaduakolam, an Owerri based millionaire businessman was shot and killed by soldiers on 25th May 2021. He was returning from a business trip outside Owerri when soldiers shot and killed him. Citizen Ifeanyi Obi, 45 years old father of three and prospering shoe manufacturer at ‘Bakkasi Market’, Ariaria International Market, Aba and a native of Egwe in Oguta, Imo State was among those five citizens shot and killed by soldiers and police in Imo State on Sunday, 6th June 2021 and later paraded as “bodies of ESN/IPOB gunmen killed in exchange of gunfire with gallant security operatives while trying to attack the Imo State Police Headquarters”. He had traveled home on Friday, 4th June alongside his wife’s younger brother, Chima for the latter’s uncle’s burial and boarded a bus going back to Aba on Sunday, 6th June when gunshots rented the air at Alvan Ikoku axis, forcing the vehicle he was traveling with to hurriedly dispatch all passengers. Late Ifeanyi and his in-law ran in different directions to escape flying Army and Police bullets. Soldiers stormed where he took refuge at an open place and shot him dead. The Imo State Police Command later paraded him alongside four others and labeled him falsely. The Police also removed his trousers and placed a pump action gun across his body to publicly portray him as a common criminal caught and killed in the act.  Instances are too numerous to mention.

ABDUCTION/SUSTAINED ARREST OF INNOCENT MEMBERS OF IPOB/ IGBO YOUTHS, AGED AND TODDLERS BY COMBINED TEAM OF NIGERIAN SECURITY AGENTS

By Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq | The Biafra Times

April 23, 2021

The ongoing clampdown on innocent and unarmed members of IPOB /Igbo youths, the aged and toddlers by Combined team of Nigerian Security Agents, has continued  unabated, and is herein roundly condemned.

Recently, I have been  inundated with distress calls from families whose loved ones  were abducted at  the wee hours of the night  and taken into captivity to unknown locations. This onslaught is effectively being carried out at the behest of the Governors of the  respective affected  states under the guise of searching for Members of ESN. Worst hit in this violent but heinous attack on people's Fundamental rights are- Abia, Imo and Anambra States.

I therefore,  call on the security Agents to suspend these unlawful arrests and illegal detentions of innocent Citizens who are not seen in possession of any form of arms or involved in the commission of any crime.

Only yesterday, the Fulani traders in Enugu State, took to the street, brazenly armed with Ak-47, a prohibited firearm, and started attacking both security personnel and civilians in a broad day light, without  any form of restrain.

It was reported that three policemen lost their lives in this unprovoked attack on both Security personnel and civilians, while goods belonging to Our igbo brothers and Sisters worth over #10Billion naira, were reduced to ashes.

The pertinent question here begging for answer, is- who is providing these dissidents with prohibited fire arms all carefully deposited in their various places of business, waiting for an attack on igbos in their own Soil and homelands?

As big as Nigeria exists in the imagination of some uninformed, they should have all Hi-tec gadgets for precise identification and arrest  of their targets without any form of harm on innocent people.

Hence, if any lawful arrest will take place, it ought to start from the Headquarters of Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen/Bandits who are ravaging the entire North at present.

Interestingly, these Bandits have confessed in different foras that the same Government sponsoring the arrest and detention of innocent igbo youths, are the very Institution supplying them arms, which heavy accusation hasn't been denied by the Presidency, or rather, the Federal Government till date.

How many has been arrested in the Northern States, where Banditry business is on the prime and thrives lucratively? Bandits and deadly Fulani herdsmen, all heavily armed with deadly/sophisticated firearms operate in the open and unrestricted. They are treated with largesse by the same Government arming them, while soliciting  for the release of their victims.

It would have even made a modicum of sense if these people being arrested in the south east were involved in the commission of any crime. On the contrary, innocent people including the aged, youths, pregnant and nursing women, are arrested on a daily basis, and taken into captivity by these security agents.

Today, we have over hundreds of our aged Fathers, Mothers, brothers and Sisters presently detained in the most dreaded detention facilities of the Nigeria  Police in Abuja, and have been in custody for over two months. The height of the inhumane treatment being meted to these innocent detainees is that they are denied access to even we, their lawyers, and family members. Majority who were  inflicted with gun shots injuries are abandoned in the cell without access to medical treatment. This is indeed  gut-wrenching and heartbreaking.

The Federal Government is leveraging on the ongoing strike embarked upon by JUSUN to ensure that these innocent people are held in perpetuity, since the applications filed for the enforcement of their fundamental rights cannot be heard, now courts are on total lockdown.

We have consequently notified Foreign Governments, and institutions, including Amnesty international on this gross violation of Citizens' rights presently being perpetuated by Nigerian Security Agents at the behest of the Fulani-led Federal Government.

This ongoing onslaught will rather promote further civil unrest than granting the desired peace.

Let there be a stop to this abduction/kidnapping of innocent citizens.

Also, we call for immediate release of all those innocent persons still being held in captivity.

LET WISE COUNSEL PREVAIL.

Imo prisonbreak: IPOB remains most peaceful freedom movement, violence-free

By Chijindu Benjamin Ukah |The Biafra Times

April 6, 2021

To the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu; "words of mouth," they say "is free," but I can tell you, "not all talks are free".

Accusing IPOB of attacking Imo state prison, without corroborate grounds, has shown your level of ineptitude, and lack of cognitive operations to be the Inspector General of a federation. More so, it has shown how much you despise the IPOB.

IGP Mohammed Adamu, can you prove beyond reasonable doubt, in a court of competent jurisdiction that IPOB attacked Imo prison?

It is obvious your sense of reasoning has been shaded by courtesy of "Fulani jihadism" conquest mission and you accuse IPOB for a every single act of stoppage from achieving your devilish mission in Biafra land.

It must be registered into your Fulani brain that IPOB remains the most peaceful freedom fighting outfit in the world. Everybody knows that (ESN) Eastern Security Network is only fighting the terrorists in the eastern bushes and farmland, who are raping our mothers, sisters, destroying our farm crops with their herds of cattle, and taking over our God-given land with AK47 rifles.

It is not unclear that the so-called unknown gunmen are yet "unknown" to all and sundry. However, it is your duty as the IGP to find out whom they actually are, and possibly meet with them, the way the bandits' "spokesperson," Sheik Gunmi did with the dreadful Fulani herders. Possibility exists that same bandits seeking amnesty are behind the serial attacks upon security agencies in the East; not excluding the recent Imo prisonbreak.

IGP, Mohammed Adamu, you must be mindful of the utterances you make against the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB; a movement of over 70 million people, and located in over 100 countries of the world. They are the 'most peaceful' freedom movement in Africa; even beyond.

THE WAR HAS BEGUN, WE SHALL FIGHT TO DEFEND OUR ANCESTRAL LAND - IPOB

IPOB PRESS RELEASE

February 19, 2021 | The Biafra Times

We the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wish to bring to the attention of the whole world, that the Nigeria military has at last, brought war to Biafra land. Supported by other security agencies including police and the Department of State Services, DSS, they came with military jets, tanks and heavy war equipment against us. Yes the second Nigeria/Biafra war has begun! The WAR begun on Thursday, February 18, 2021.

The wicked Nigeria military has simultaneously launched both land and air attacks on us. After the genocidal war of 1967-1970 in which they killed over 5 million innocent Biafrans, they have come again to bomb the Biafrans under the pretext that they are hunting the gallant personnel of Eastern Security Network ESN guarding our forests against killer herdsmen and terrorists on rampage in our land.

Days before the raid, they first abducted a

synagogue priest, Mazi Egole and his house hold, branding them IPOB members. Then on February 16, they abducted Mrs NGOZI UMEADI who they learnt took care of those injured during the #EndSARS protest. Not done yet, they took Dr. Stephen Irochi of Multicare Hospital and some injured #EndSARS protesters from Obigbo receiving treatment at the hospital.

With this the oppressive government of the dead President Muhamnadu Buhari now run by the Fulani cabal, has confirmed that it is the chief sponsor of terrorism and banditry going on in our land. The satanic government which could not defend Biafrans against incessant unprovoked attacks against Nigerians has now mobilized its land and air-force against ESN who are patriotically and voluntarily doing the job that Nigeria security forces wickedly refused to do. The crime of ESN is defending locals against Fulani herdsmen.

Orlu and its environs are now a theater of war declared by the wicked Nigeria Government against innocent Biafrans. Scores of innocent civilians have already fallen casualty! Orlu and its neighboring Orsu LGAs have been under heavy bombardment by the Nigeria Airforce since yesterday, February 18, 2021.

Regrettably, this genocidal war against Biafrans has the endorsement of the Supreme Court Administrator of Imo State, Hope Uzodima who the Fulani Janjaweed Government is using in its futile desperation to actualize its Fulanisation agenda. But he, his likes and their slave-masters will pay heavily for this!

The world must hold Hope Uzodima and the Buhari-led Fulani-controlled federal government of Nigeria responsible for the ongoing genocidal war in Orlu and Orsu. The same hypocritical Nigeria military which could not trace or locate heavily-armed bandits and Fulani terrorists in the forests of Zamfara and other Northern States is now bombing ESN, a mere vigilante group. Miyetti Allah announced its nation wide security outfit and nobody  bombed them till today. Amotekun was formed in the West and the tanks were not rolled out against them. But now that Biafrans have announced our own vigilante group - ESN to protect our people against terrorists kidnapping, raping and slaughtering our people in our own ancestral land, all hell is let lose.

But we promise disgrace to our enemies. They SHALL be shamefully defeated. The WAR has begun! We shall defend Biafra and we shall triumph! No inch of Biafra land will be taken by the Invaders.  We have vowed  never to relinquish any inch of Biafra ancestral land to Fulani Herdsmen from Sahel. Their evil Fulanisation agenda shall perish with them. God of the Jews shall defend us against the enemies. This war will be different from the 1967 genocide!

May we therefore, remind Biafrans all over the world that that decisive moment has come when they must stand to be counted. We need to rise as one people no matter the tongue or ethnicity  for we have a common destiny. We have all been marked for decimation by the Fulani Janjaweed but we must resist them.

Nobody should erroneously think he is exempted from the wicked plots of our enemies. Even our treacherous political elite should know that the Fulani will not spare them after using them against their own people. Our people in the Nigeria military and other security agencies should also know that the Fulani will reward them with death after using them to fight their kith and kin. We must stand united and fight for our children! Now is the time!

We have no choice but to defend our ancestral land. We have complained enough, written petitions but the world turned blind eyes. The media refused to give us audience. Nobody seems interested in our story but like the Jews we must look unto our God and courageously fight back like heroes. In the end Biafra will come!

IPOB HAILS S'EAST GOVERNORS FOR BANNING OPEN GRAZING, ASKS ESN TO ENFORCE

IPOB Press Release |The Biafra Times

February 2, 2021

We the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra; IPOB ably led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wish to salute the courage of South East Governors for heeding our Leader's call to ban open grazing in the region. We received with delight the news of a statement credited to the Chairman of South East Governors' Forum, Dave Umahi, to the effect that open grazing has been banned in all states of the zone.

IPOB wishes to acknowledge the wisdom of the governors to respect the people's will for the first time. If the governors had not been seized by  useless fear and trepidation over the Fulani before now, our region wouldn't have been in this mess.

We therefore, want to aver, and assure the governors that our gallant Eastern Security Network, ESN, will ensure strict enforcement of the ban which is also in line with a subsisting but neglected judicial pronouncement in 1969. At the expiration of the two-week ultimatum already issued by our Leader for open grazing to end in Biafra land, IPOB and ESN will move in to deal with any herder flouting the law.

Since the law enforcement agents are too weak or have wittingly failed to enforce the ban, we can no longer afford to sit idly and watch the wanton  destruction of lives and crops of our people. ESN will do the needful. We shall no longer allow law breakers to have a field day after inflicting physical and economic harm on innocent victims.

The 12 Northern Muslim States already have their Hisbah police enforcing their Sharia law yet they claim Nigeria is one.  Alcoholic beverages worth millions of Naira belonging to Biafrans doing their legitimate business in those states have been callously destroyed by these overzealous elements and nothing happened. Yet some wicked mortals masquerading as herders are daily openly grazing their cattle on our farms, kidnapping our folks for ransom, killing and rapping our mothers and sisters. The security agents not only show blind eye to these unimaginable criminality but sometimes provide cover for the perpetrators.

We, therefore, wish to remind all herders in Biafra land that the era of occupying our forests and grazing on our farms is gone. They have to vacate our forests and relocate to cities where other human beings live. Wandering about with cows can no longer be tolerated on Biafra soil. Anyone interested in cattle rearing will either build a ranch as obtains in civilized societies or leave Biafra land. Do not say you are not warned!

We advise all herdsmen in Biafra land irrespective of their tribe to restrict themselves to the law of the land or relocate to regions where open grazing is allowed. Our patience will elapse after the expiration date of the 14-day ultimatum by our Leader.

COMRADE EMMA POWERFUL MEDIA AND PUBLICITY SECRETARY FOR IPOB.

United We Stand

January 13th, 2021

By Victoria. O. C. Agangan | Biafra Writers

When there is unity of purpose, focus and pursuit by like minds with similar cultural values and regional cohabitation, the uniqueness of the union is pronounced, positivity, development and general advancement testifying to it.

It is a well-known fact that Nigeria was cooked up by Britain in the colonial era, self-gain their sole target. Even when they were leaving, indigenous leadership was so structured to ensure their control.

Many have been misled by false tales passed down from generation to generation while others wallow in ignorance occasioned by lack of history studies in our schools.

The "Divide and Rule" formula is a potent weapon against unity and strength, and the British understanding this, did not only use it, they as well taught their Fulani surrogate its application. In their absence, the Fulani Oligarchy has been using it judiciously to separate kinsmen.

Today in Nigeria things have fallen apart and the center can no longer hold. Nigeria is sitting on the keg of gunpowder. In their desperation to have us subjugated, the Fulani Caliphate has unleashed on us different terrorist groups. Their savagery is manifest in all regions of Nigeria – from the indigenous people of the North, across the middle belt and down to south.

Biafrans, striving to keep their breath, are seeking an identity other than the Nigerian one that has spelt nothing but doom for all.  All component units of Biafra must therefore know their root to overcome the divide and rule mechanism of the Fulani oligarchy. United we will stand.

Ohaneze Election is Illegal – Kanu

January 13th, 2021

By Princewill Akubumma | Biafra Writers

The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has frowned at the just concluded election of the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, describing the exercise as illegal. The IPOB leader pointed out that not all Igbos voted and unanimously chose Chief George Obiozor as the new leader.

Bemoaning the slavishness of Ohaneze, Kanu lamented that the group has lost touch with the objectives that birthed it. The Igbo, Kanu mourned, has been balkanized and scattered all over the country through the midwifery of divide and rule, adding that has the group not lost focus, it’s primary mission would have been the unification of all Igbos severed and de-Igbonized in states like Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa-Ibom, Cross River, Edo, and even Kogi and Benue.

Regretting that Igbos indigenous to the aforementioned states do not have the acknowledgement of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, Kanu stated that it is the fundamental assignment of Ohaneze to look out for them and their plights.

Kanu pointed out that while the indigenous Igbos in Kogi and Benue are tagged northerners, their kit and kin in the Igbo territory are nicknamed South-easterners. Such scenario, he added, is replicated in most places where Igbos are separated from their own people, and overtime they begin to have identity crisis, a situation that leads many of them to deny their Igbonness. Kanu also blamed this on age-long negligence of the larger Igbo family, a situation the so-called Ohaneze leadership ought to arrest.

Dear Critics, the Way Is Now Clear For You to Do It Right

Onoja Christian Obinna | Biafra Times

December 5th, 2020

As Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s agitation for Biafra gathered momentum, many have questioned the genuineness of his campaign as there have been people in time past who surfaced with the Biafra demand but failed along the way.

From the year 2012, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has been steering the Biafra freedom drive, awakening the people of the old eastern region (Biafra) to the need of total freedom from Nigeria. Identify the Nigerian state as a political tool in the hands of the British designed to keep Biafra and, by extension, Africa, from economic and technological advancement, Kanu has pushed on with his struggle vigorously. Critics however emerged to question his credibility.

Happy slaves mocked, challenging him to return from his London base if he truly cares for the people as he preaches on airwaves. Not as though they are not aware of Kanu’s unlawful incarceration for two years, the military invasion of his home, and other government commissioned persecutions, but mischief having a better grip on them, they speak to spite.

The grave injuries sustained from the military invasion of his home forced the Biafra leader into fourteen months of incommunicado, paving way for those faulting his strategies to step in and do a better job, but hell no, none of them stepped forward.

With the recent rupture in the leadership circle of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Kanu has once again given space for those that seem to have the quickest path to the restoration project to take lead. Rather than do the needful, they chose the path of gossip.

Dear critics, the road is now clear for you to take lead and do it right. Take lead and guide us to a free state of Biafra. Take lead now or keep quiet forever. If you are not going to lead, then stop sabotaging the efforts of a man who have dedicated all he has to ensure total liberation of his people.

In conclusion, I urge all men and women of goodwill to remain steadfast and resolute towards this project of freedom because Biafra must be restored under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Angry reactions trail killing of IPOB members in Enugu

August 24, 2020 | The Biafra Times

Angry reactions have started trailing the reported killing of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in Enugu. All the respondents, who spoke to Vanguard in Owerri, were unanimous in their belief that the dead were first Ndigbo before being members of IPOB. They also described the incident as “senseless and condemnable, especially as IPOB members are usually unarmed”.

Reacting, an Owerri based legal practitioner, Mr Aloy Ejimakor, said the wrong branding of the dead was deceptive and a diversionary tactic to simply write off the dead as IPOB members, instead of Ndigbo. His words: “Forget IPOB. They are Ndigbo. It is completely deceptive and a diversionary tactic to simply write off the dead as IPOB members, instead of Ndigbo. Whoever takes the life of an IPOB member is taking the life of an Igbo and therefore will ultimately account to Ndigbo.”

According to the lawyer, “when I read about the senseless killing of unarmed innocents, who gathered in Enugu on August 23, 2020, in peaceable exercise of their constitutional rights, I quickly began to search the news to learn more and I learnt plenty, including particularly, the somewhat dismissive refrain that those killed are just IPOB members.”

While arguing that they might be IPOB members, Ejimakor, however, said: “Everybody in the former Eastern Nigeria, who disagrees with what has become Nigeria, is an IPOB member, overtly or covertly”. “They don’t have to carry a registration card for you to be certain that they are IPOB members. All you need to do is to talk with them to convince yourself that they are IPOB members. “An IPOB member is simply any Eastern Nigerian, especially the Igbo, who will rather have Biafra than a Nigeria that eats her children, especially her Igbo children. And they are in the millions. “They are legion. Some are above ground. Some are in sleeper cells and they are not miscreants. They are the Igbo gentry, the elites, the masses, warts and all.

“The Igbo remains an Igbo for now and forever, alive or dead. Nobody can change that. No subliminal narrative of just IPOB can change that.” Another IPOB loyalist, who simply identified himself as Chikerem, urged the security agencies to “stop branding people IPOB when they know that the killing and maiming unarmed Ndigbo”. Chikerem also reasoned that those killed were Ndigbo before becoming IPOB members, adding that “it beats my imagination why the Nigerian government has disdain for Ndigbo, but relentlessly want to keep us in Nigeria”. Answering a question, Chikerem said that there was no way anybody can detach IPOB members from Ndigbo, who are not terrorists but are treated and branded as such.

For Nkemdiri Osukaku, “Igbo life is precious, inalienable and the blood of an IPOB member is not less precious than that of any other Igbo man or woman”. He appealed to the security agencies to face the dreaded Boko Haram, ISWAP and other deadly insurgents that are terrorizing the citizenry, instead of running after unarmed agitators of a free Biafra.

Operation Amotekun: What Igbo Leaders Should Learn

January 17, 2020

By Christopher O. Evans | Biafra Writers

The creation of southwest security outfit, AMOTEKUN, is a direct message to the Islamic federal government that the west of the country won't accept its larger plan of arming Fulani jihadists and throwing Nigeria borders open to welcome more reinforcements. We're in a country where Fulani jihadists are armed with assault rifles and allowed to roam freely. Thousands have been slaughtered by them, communities have been razed down, and more mayhem promised. After each killing campaign, Miyetti Allah, the umbrella body of Fulani herdsmen, will address press conference flanked by the Nigerian police.

TY Danjuma has since been screaming that the current Nigerian leadership has a sinister agenda. Of course, Danjuma should know for he has been up there with them. Obasanjo have added his voice too. And Obasanjo should know for he too has been there. It's also important that both Danjuma and Obasanjo are now realizing that they didn't fight for one Nigeria, instead, they fought for the subjugation of the rest by the caliphate.

The purpose of this article, however, is to awaken the consciousness of the Biafran to the unfolding events. Southwest have both political parties, APC and PDP, states. When it comes to issues that matter to them they united to pursue an aim. The national leader of APC, Tinubu, is from Lagos state. There is no one political leader, whatever party he or she belongs, that is opposed to Amotekun. It's something for the security of all Yoruba against the Federal Government. Yes, Federal Government.

Tinubu, having observed the caliphate’s intention to monopolize power, has thrown his weight behind Amotekun whose creation has sent a strong message to the Fulani oligarchy that its plan is unacceptable. This is not all about security – it's also about 2023 presidential race.

READ ALSO: Biafra War: It Is January 15 Again

From the formative stage of Amotekun to its fruition, Yoruba political players and traditional leaders held several meetings, yet not one of them let the secret out. Not one saboteur! They didn't let in Joe Igbokwe or Loretta Onochie, however, they love the duo. The funding went smoothly. The recruitment and training went without notice. Perhaps because all attention was on IPOB. They spoke with one voice. The Fulani-led Federal Government found it difficult to deal with the matter because every Yoruba backed the move. Can the Igbo learn anything here? The greatest bane to our freedom is internal enemies.

Observe that whenever the Yoruba meet to discuss the all-important response to the Fulani-led Jihad plots, they do not advertise it. No one knows they are meeting. For instance, we just saw Amotekun, but we all know a lot of plans and meetings went into it. How didn't it leak? Igbos should learn to keep secrets. We call them cowards but their actions have spoken louder than words.

Since the floating of Amotekun, the Fulani-controlled Federal Government has been jolted. They just don't know how best to respond yet. And this tells the significance of Amotekun. The East can do it too if we can trust ourselves and work for ourselves. Biafrans have the widest of connections worldwide. But we need unity. We need oneness; we need ourselves; we need one voice; we need each other’s support; we need a rallying point, a rallying figure. We need one purpose, one dream, one pursuit, one mind. Our resources and strength of industry is an unmatched asset. The idea of wanting to swallow each other so as to hold sway is our greatest bane.

See how Tinubu follows Buhari at daytime but at nighttime turns to his people. This way they pulled this huge surprise. Not so with any of us. Once our people get a foothold on government they pitch tent with the caliphate. We’ve never had a set of dumb governors as we have now. The Fulani wish is their command. The great work of IPOB though is resetting the minds of millions of Igbo youths. This work is growing, and of course, cannot be ignored. The war against IPOB is a war no one can win. You can't muster huge resources against a course you think will end in vapors.

BIAFRA: CNN Should Tell The World About Biafrans' Support To President Donald Trump

BIAFRA:  CNN Should Tell The World About Biafrans' Support To President Donald Trump

It is really unfortunate that up till date, a well renowned media organization in the capacity of Cable News Network (CNN), yet exhibits mischievousness in it's reportage and dissemination of information. This height of unethical practice was displayed internationally when this media giant reported the love and the unflinching support Biafrans globally, give to President Donald Trump of the United States of America. It was recently and biasedly reported that such unprecedented support was given by Nigerians. If the so-called Pew Research Center (CNN), could feign ignorance of the true identity of the people that have consistently staked their lives for the USA President since 2016 during and after the presidential election that fetched him victory, to January 2017, then this media organization is really not worth it's onions. The Nigerian Islamic government through it's jihadist police force, army and other sister security agencies killed, maimed and detained hundreds of family members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in Port Harcourt City, Biafraland, for peacefully and justifiably rallying in solidarity with President Donald Trump.

Biafrans have continued to give him support till date for his courageous stance on equity and justice in the world. CNN as a global media organization, cannot in anyway, claim ignorance of the real identity of the people. Unfortunately, it has mischievously, in it's biasness and falsehood, recently referred to these Biafrans as Nigerians, perhaps to justify the huge financial settlements it has so far gained from the corrupt Nigerian Islamic government. Professionally, could the CNN News Editor boldly say that he/she does not know or have the facts that the Nigerian Islamic government detests President Donald Trump because of his insistence that radical Islam and terrorism must be curtailed if not totally crushed in our world?

It is well known globally, that in any slightest upheaval, Nigerians always set American flags and other national symbols, ablaze, to register their hate against whatever the United States of America represents. During the Biafrans' Solidarity Rally for Trump in the month of January 2017, at Port Harcourt, it is still on record that the combined team of well armed Nigerian Army, Police and officials of the Department of Security Services (DSS), confiscated all the US flags at the possession of the rallying Biafrans and brazenly burnt them in broad daylight. This further demonstrated the hatred of Nigerians even in uniform, against President Donald Trump. So Nigerians are given to burning the American flags on several occasions against the interest and values of the American people. The most recent of such dastardly act was when members of Islamic Movement in Nigeria ,burnt American flags in a broad daylight in Abuja, Nigeria, to protest the killing of the Iranian terrorist Army General, Qassem Soleimani by US airstrikes.

If therefore there is any organization that deserves to be corrected for making the ancient people of Biafra as "Nigerians" in their news research delivery and presentation, it should be the obscure PEW RESEARCH CENTER which floated the research work by saying that "Kenyans" and "Nigerians" have more confidence in President Donald Trump. This is because most of these organizations are grossly being misled by Western World Mainstream Media Outlets like CNN, being referred herein for calling the people of Biafra, "Nigerians". It is quite obvious that the Nigerian government is hugely spending on CNN to ensure that news presentations are craftily being made to cover the true identity of Biafrans and as well, to do everything possible to thwart the Biafra restoration struggle through misleading news reportage.

However, it is important to put the record straight here. It is the Biafran people that are forcefully being encaged in the Nigerian contraption, which is under the firm control of Fulani cabals, that support President Donald Trump and that they will continually do until he reciprocates by out rightly telling the Nigerian Islamic government to take off it's hands from the concerns of the people through political independence. It is never Nigerians as it was deceitfully presented through the Pew Research Center and reported in the news bulletin of CNN, that gave and yet giving the US President, his required support. Nigerians, as a matter of fact, do not hide their hatred for President Trump and the American government based on his opposition against Islamic radicalism. CNN should correct that misleading narrative as carried in it's news presentation. It is Biafrans that support President Donald Trump and not Nigerians. It is completely mischievous and against journalistic ethics to float such falsehood.

For more information go to Google search type "Biafrans for Trump" and run your own research.

Arewa Youth Consultative Forum seek inclusion of referendum in constitutional amendment

December 22, 2019 | The Biafra Times

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) says the inclusion of referendum clause in the constitutional amendment will pave the way for the restructuring of the country.

The National Assembly has been urged by the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) to include the referendum clause in the constitutional amendment to pave the way for the restructuring of the country.

Alhaji Shettima Yerima, the national chairman of the group, disagreed with the position of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration that only the National Assembly can restructure the country, The Nation reports.

Yerima explained that the only duty of the National Assembly is to include the provision of referendum in the constitution to allow the nation to carry out a nation-wide vote on restructuring reports from the 2014 conference or the report of any other conference as may be decided by Nigerians.

Lawyer defends CJN's call for constitutional amendment to accommodate Sharia law He criticised Nigerian past and present leaders for not including the referendum clause in the country’s several constitutions.

He said referendum would have guaranteed member-ethnic nations’ right of self-determination as contained in the United Nations’ Charter.

Yerima noted that the country would have been saved the violent effects of agitations by militant ethnic groups in the country and other secessionist groups if the referendum clause had been in the constitution.

He said the situation under the present political structure cannot change the high level of poverty ravaging the vast majority of Nigerians and the low level of development across the country.

The AYCF chairman pointed out that no amount of constitutional amendment by the National Assembly or bail-out to the states from the federal government would bring any significant improvement in the life of the people or improve infrastructural development unless the country carried out a fundamental restructuring.

In another news report, the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has demanded explanation from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the alleged arrest and humiliation of northerners resident in Lagos state.

In a statement made available to Legit.ng on Monday, December 9, and signed by its president, Yerima Shettima, the group also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to call the governor to order.

The group accused the state of hounding the northerners, mostly commercial motorcyclists, with the state's task force, who go to the homes of the residents at odd hours to effect arrest.

A Brief History of Biafra

July 24, 2019

By Nelson Ofokar Yagazie | Biafra Writers

The nation Biafra is descended from the seventh son of Jacob, Gad. Three of Gad’s sons – Eri, Arodi, and Areli – left Egypt with their households at the heights of Pharaoh’s torment, and wandered down west Africa to settle in the part today inhabited by their descendants, Biafrans. Eri, the eldest of the three brothers, settled in Nri – the ancestral home of all Biafrans. His own eldest son, Agulu-Eri, founded the Agulu-Eri town where he built the famous Obu Gad in the loving memory of his grandfather, Gad. Obu Gad is today a historic site, evidencing many Biafran Jewish heritage.

Arodi settled at Arochukwu – the city taking its name from its founder, Arodi. The youngest of the brothers, Areli, went down to settle at the riverine area, giving birth to most of the riverine non-Igbo speaking Biafrans.

As is evidenced in various maps of ancient Africa – maps of 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries – the nation Biafra has been in existence for over five thousand (5000) years. In the 18th century, however, Biafra was conquered by British forces and ruled as a British colony.

In 1914, the colonial administration of Fredrick Lugard, seeking to use the resources in Biafra land to balance the budget deficit in the area today referred to as Northern Nigeria, lumped three separate nations together as one country. Thus, Biafra was forced into the unholy union today called Nigeria. Biafra territory then became known as Eastern Nigeria.

In 1945, the other parts of Nigeria began the killing of Biafrans in a very coordinated form. The pogrom reached an alarming rate in 1966 when about four hundred thousand (400,000) Biafrans were killed. Efforts by the then governor of Eastern Nigeria, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, to get the Nigerian government to stop the pogrom proved abortive.

With the Yakubu Gowon led government of Nigeria turning its back on the agreements reached in the peace talk in Aburi, Ghana, (commonly referred to as Aburi Accord), and the carnage snowballing into a full-scale genocide, Biafrans were left with no alternative than to seek an identity separate from the Nigerian Identity.

Acting in his capacity as the governor of the oppressed Eastern Nigeria and on the mandate of the ruling council of the then Eastern Nigeria, heads of parastatals, Academic Staff Union of Universities, and everyone that mattered in the land, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu on the 30th of May, 1967, declared the then Eastern Nigeria with her territorial waters a sovereign state known, called and referred to as Republic of Biafra – her ancient name.

Nigerian government encouraged by the British government under Harold Wilson then visited war on the young republic, killing, according to Irish report, over six million people in the space of three years the war lasted. In January 1970, Biafra was again forced into the Nigerian union that has no better offer than periodic carnage on Biafrans.

Within the three years of war, Biafran expertise and technological know-hows came to fore as Biafra, blockaded and under heavy bombardments, built her own bombs, guns, armored tanks, telecommunication system, airport, oil refineries, as well as converting passenger planes to fighter jets. Biafra by her achievements in those three years of existence, although under war situation, became the most technologically advanced black nation in the world.

The Uthman's Footprint

July 1, 2019

By Victoria. O. C. Agangan | Biafra Writers

Uthman Dan Fodio tricked the core northerners into assisting him to topple their ruler and thereafter, subdued the people, taking over their land and establishing self as their master. His descendants have maintained that status till date.

The success in northern Nigeria persuades the Fulani to think that he can subjugate the rest of the tribes in the geographical expression referred to as Nigeria.

As proposed by the late premier of Northern Region just days after Independence, the people of Middle Belt were used as willing tools in the genocidal war against Biafra in 1967-70. Ever since then, they have subjugated us in our land while making away with our wealth.

To keep us under check, the game of divide and rule was employed. Brothers turned enemies with many denying their ancestry and adopting meaningless names like Niger Delta, South-South, etc.

The gold-digging eastern governors and political leaders are so consumed by greed they have turned selves zombies, incapable of questioning the subjugating policies of the federal government.  Of course, they observe the ills being meted against Biafrans and might even fume against it in the secret, but guided by their sense of self, have refrained from confronting the federal government.

The governor of Rivers State is currently under attack from the caliphate for mentioning that Rivers is a Christian state. The Sultan of Sokoto in an outburst contested seriously against Wike's declaration of Rivers as a Christian state. Yet, northern states are declared Islamic states with Sharia law in full practice. If the caliphate aren't seeing our enclave as a conquered territory already, what would have given the sultan the gut to contest Rivers state being a Christian state?

The dissonant air is heavy with doom.
It is imperative therefore to stand up and defend our land, and this we must do in any way possible.

IPOB: How Biafra Government system will be

Published on | The Biafra Times

January 14, 2019

THIS IS FOR THOSE OF US WHO DO NOT KNOW HOW BIAFRA SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT WILL BE LIKE:
During the interactive session with our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on 12th January, 2019, OWEI KEME BRADIKUMO asked a question:

1) What is the proposed CONSTITUTION of the upcoming UNITED STATES of BIAFRA. Can we get a draft copy of it in the public domain now that will be necessary before our campaign towards the pending globally accepted BIAFRA REFERENDUM?

Response from MAZI NNAMDI KANU:
Biafra will run a unique political system designed to carter for the needs of our people.

We are going to have NATION STATES. We will have an IGBO NATION WITHIN BIAFRA. We will have an EFIK NATION WITHIN BIAFRA. We will have ANNANG NATION WITHIN BIAFRA, if they so choose. We will also have IJAW NATION WITHIN BIAFRA. We will have ISOKO NATION WITHIN BIAFRA. We will have IDOMA NATION WITHIN BIAFRA. We will have IGALA NATION WITHIN BIAFRA. Listen to this: THEY WILL ALL BE AUTONOMOUS. Each Nation State will control the resources in their own land. The only thing that will bind us together will be a COMMON DEFENSE POLICY, COMMON ECONOMIC POLICY, COMMON POLICY IN HEALTH AND EDUCATION. In the rest, let people develop according to the pace that they wish or they decided amongst themselves to go by.

LAWS WILL BE DONE IN LOCAL LANGUAGES. Igbo Parliament will make their own laws in Igbo language. Ijaw Parliament will make their own laws in Ijaw language. The same thing applies to Ibibio and others. So that when people are lying to us we will know because you know lying is good in English Language. But you can't deceive the people when you are actually speaking in the language that they understand.

What we are going to have in Biafra will be A BRAND NEW NATION WITH NEW IDEAS AND NEW WAYS OF DOING THINGS. Our political arrangements will be geared towards addressing our core needs.

Igbo Land will have a Prime Minister. The same thing will happen to Ijaw, to Isoko, to Urhobo, to Itshekiri. Everybody will be Autonomous from one another to develop at the pace that they like. That is the type of Biafra we are seeking to have. And that is the type of Biafra we are going to have.

Igbos: The Second Class Citizens Of Nigeria

By Nelson Ofokar Yagazie | For Biafra Writers

December 19, 2018

I did not watch the so-called Vice Presidential Debate. But a couple of days ago, I went online to find a reasonable number of Igbo people expressing how Peter Obi is by far the most brilliant. And I said, tag Peter Obi against Atiku Abubakar – the man he is supposed to be deputizing – and Obi will beat him hands down. Such is the brilliance of the Igbo. But why can't they rise to the fore? Why always playing a second fiddle?

If you are indisputably the best yet not allowed to take the lead, then you are obviously a second class citizen. Most of these Igbo brothers praising Obi to the moon have failed to ask themselves the critical question, “why can't the best be the first?” And these are people who would readily define selves as intellectuals. Remind them that they still remain slaves in Nigeria and they will take umbrage at you, telling you how they have succeeded in building a four-bedroom flat in the village, how they have married and are bearing children, how they own a good car (in most cases, a second-hand car), how they have gone to school and acquired certificates, how they can speak good English, how their kinsmen own four storey buildings in different cities, and so on. To these little minded individuals, a people with such achievements of course cannot be slaves. What do they know? Who makes polices and how do they affect you? Are you equal with the rest and you are kept on the fringes?

Regrettably, while the Obi-praising party are smart enough to observe that the Igbo is outstandingly the best brain in the unfortunate enclave referred to as Nigeria, they are irritatingly too dumb to reflect on why, despite being the best, the Igbo is limited to second fiddle role. Like Obi, Dr. Alex Ekwueme of blessed memory, was vastly superior intellectually to the man he deputized, Alhaji Shehu Shagari. The same illusion driving the present day Igbo believers of a workable one Nigeria – the hope of the vice taking over after the boss might have served out his term – fuelled emotions at the Shagari/Ekwueme era. But late President Muhammadu Buhari, acting out the script ‘Never Allow Igbos Rule Again’ whose acronym became adopted as Nigeria’s currency, saw to it that the Igbo dream died a stillbirth by toppling the Shagari government at the beginning of his second term. Of course, Buhari knew if he waited till Shagari’s last year, the plot would be so obvious, hence the need to act early. Sadly, the Igbo one-Nigeria hopefuls are bad students of history.

Apart from the paltry six months of Aguiyi Ironsi orchestrated by a failed coup d’état which in earnest was intended to usher in a Yoruba man – Obafemi Awolowo, the Igbo with all his proficiency has never assumed the leadership of the country he mistakes as his own.

Some are so mentally eclipsed that they imagine having an erudite and economic-proficient Obi as a Vice President would somehow resuscitate the deteriorating Nigerian economy. Professor Yemi Osinbajo, even if not mentally on par with Obi, is a man of high academic attainment. What has his deputizing role achieved under the Buhari and now Jubril-led administration? A thriving economy? A secured society? An improved medical system? A healthy academic atmosphere? A truly independent Judiciary? A free press? A corruption-free electioneering process? Employment? What please? Under this administration, the religious killing of Christians has quadrupled. Professor Yemi Osibanjo, the vice president in this loathsome regime, is not just a Christian, he is a pastor. What has he influenced? Even when a woman of Redeemed Christian Church of God – a church Osinbajo pastored before joining politics – was beheaded in Abuja for preaching Christ, what punitive measures did Osinbajo initiate? A clear case-study for our supposed intellectuals who build castle in the air.

There are those who believe that an Atiku-led government will offer them a restructured Nigeria. These folks are naïve.

Atiku made restructuring a cardinal campaign point to lure gullible Biafrans of Igbo extraction. Having seen the gusto with which the Biafrans demand freedom, Atiku tried to play smart by tugging the restructuring rope. The fickle-minded Igbo one-Nigerianists threw in without asking what happened to Aburi Accord, 1970 3Rs (Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration), 2005 constitutional conference recommendations, and 2014 confab recommendations. Has Nigeria ever kept an agreement?

Buhari made several campaign promises such as making one naira equal to dollar, bring fuel pump price down to 40 naira, pay unemployed youths, create employment, feed our kids in school, end the menace of Boko Haram within six months, and so on. But how many did he fulfill? Not even one. It must be noted however that this shameless act of offering lofty promises never intended to be fulfilled is not peculiar to Buhari, it’s a well-known trend in Nigerian politics. What makes anyone think Atiku will be different from Buhari and the rest of them? Anyone banking on campaign promises of Nigerian politicians, Hausa/Fulani especially, is, to say the least, naïve.

The belief that Atiku will bring about restructuring is fueled by the feeling that Obi, being an Igbo, will pressure Atiku on the subject. But then, if as a Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, in all his academic glories could not influence anything, why does somebody believe Obi will? The bosses are the same – Fulani-Muslim-North.

Before typing this, Justice Chidi – a dear friend and academic gem we fondly call Prof – wrote on his Facebook timeline, “Like Dino, I can bet my liver that Nigerians are not yet ready to get this country to start working. In my country, the best brains are only qualified for the positions of Vice-president. And the worst hands the country can offer are projected for the positions of president on the merits of ethno-political hypocrisy. We should be recolonized!”

Dear Lord! My good friend, Chidi, doesn’t seem to realize Africa is still being colonized, albeit subtly. Chidi, I know, is a believer of the Biafra restoration project, but sometimes he appears beclouded by electioneering promises. He is not alone. Responding to him I wrote, “Reason you should submit yourself totally to the restoration of Mother Biafra. It's not enough to lament.”

A one-Nigerianist – the clever by half type – plying the trade typical Igbo slaves are known for, replied me thus, “Nelson Okafor we all love Biafra but we've to be realistci to see that it's not realisable at the moment. Our best bargain now is to queue behind a candidate that's pro-restructuring and begin from there. Please enough of blood-letting in the South-East. Biafra is a long-range plan but for now the agenda is restructuring. Mind you, those who are saying no election in Igbo land are handing Nigeria, including Igbo land back to Buhari on a platter becsause the South-East is a strong-hold for Atiku/Obi. Please let wisdom prevail. First Atiku/Obi and then the struggle continues.” Note, I did not edit anything, and for the sake of honour, I withheld his name.

Looking at his weak argument and the lofty thought he could pull a smart one on me, I sighed in disgust.

I am not named “Okafor,” I am named “Ofokar.” A man who mistakes one for the other even when the latter is there to be copied is mentally lazy. Thinking about it all, I asked myself, would such a lazy-minded fellow cope with the tapestry of topics such as he tried to provoke? As I didn’t think it likely, I responded, “If you can't spell the name ‘Ofokar’ which you are seeing and could have but copied and pasted, of what use will it be going into a more mental-demanding themes as raised above with you? Find another opponent please. Ofokar nwa Nsukka is not for all breeds.”

Feeling despised, the fellow in a rejoinder wrote, “Nelson I'm so sorry about your name. But I insist that at the moment Biafra is a wild goose chase, and that young people should not be exposed to death and maiming. And if you could argue so well you'd not so ready to resort to insult.”

I don’t know where the impression that asking for self-determination exposes our youths to death and maiming is coming from. Could this fellow be reading from the script prepared by John Nnia Nwodo who, doing the bidding of his Hausa/Fulani paymasters, spins the narrative that Biafra is all about war? Whatsoever, he alone knows. But his surname is common amongst Nsukka indigenes, so I supposed him an Nsukka man – I could be wrong anyway. Leaning back in my sofa, I pulled a face, entertaining another sigh of disgust. Nsukka people have suffered a great deal of massacre in the hands of Fulani herders, the most notable being the 2016 onslaught that saw 250 people butchered to death at Nimbo community. This and all its kind in Nsukka were not orchestrated by the quest for Biafra.

In Nkanu land, similar ugly events have been recorded, with two seminarians on vacation being among victims. In Delta state, a whole village was ransacked, razed and sent on exile by Fulani marauders. Anambra, Akwa-Ibom, and Ebonyi states have all sucked and are still sucking the gall of Fulani Jihadists masquerading as cattle herders. I therefore wonder why those who spin the obnoxious yarn about Biafran quest for freedom exposing our youths to death when the entirety of our people, not just youths, are at the mercy of Fulani herders who believe that the whole enclave referred to as Nigeria is an inheritance of their father, Othman Danfodio.

I bade the cognition-denied argument-thirsty fellow goodbye with the response, “I have nothing to prove to you, I waste no time on folks like you – folks who treat history with disdain, folks who do not know that restructuring was agreed on in Aburi and trampled upon thereafter, folks who are quick to forget that Confab recommendations under Obasanjo in 2005 and even the one held under Jonathan only served as tissue papers, folks who have eyes but do not see that the difference between Buhari and Atiku is only but facial, folks who learnt nothing from Ekiti and Osun state elections, folks who judge selves sane but would continue doing same thing while expecting a different result, folks who cry over blood-let in Igbo land but subscribe to it by holding on to the structures that allow Fulani herders unlimited access into our land to rape and kill our people, folks who accuse people of insults only because they are placed where they belong, folks who thirst and hunger for fruitless arguments rather than submitting selves to revolutionary projects. I refrain from wasting time on such elements. Good day.”

He ranted some more, telling me that I am still a kid, that my information is limited and superficial, and stuffs like that, but I didn’t do him the honour of responding again. He wanted argument; I wasn’t going to grant him that.

The trouble with one-Nigerianists is that they love verbosity more than reasonability. The argument-thirsty fellow said that my information is limited and superficial but did not bother to provide the version he considered deep and complete. Such is the life of every one-Nigerianist. Nail them with facts and figures, and they will yap, yap, and yap without making any sense. Quite risible! And that’s exactly why instead of confronting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with superior argument, one-Nigeria apologists running the affair of Nigeria sent their murderous military to silence him.

Returning to our original topic, I ask again, why can’t the best be the first? And if the best can’t be the first, why remain in such entity? Why can’t the Igbo – the very best brain in Nigeria – take the lead? The Igbo can’t lead Nigeria because the Igbo is a second class citizen in a country he thinks is his. But why remain in such a country? Why not become independent? Why not return to mother Biafra? Rise up oh you all who are second class citizens in your supposed country Nigeria. Rise up and join the fight for self-determination. Biafra is our best bet.
