Nigerian Military Criminally Pocketed N6.8billion In Two Months: Dec-Jan:

The deployed personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Nigeria Police Force and their High Commands in the South-East are responsible for seizing under gunpoint not less than N21.8billion from motorists, other road users and those who came in contacts with them in their barracks between December 1, 2024, and Jan 31, 2025. The sum represented “criminal billions” drawn from direct and indirect roadblock and “barracks extortions”; numbering over twenty sources and seized from members of the civilian population with legitimate means of livelihood who were extorted while preparing or returning for 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays or extorted while heading back to their bases after the holidays. The findings above were derived from detailed research and investigation and their findings contained in the Intersociety’s December 22, 2024-Special International Report: “Ocean Of Innocent Blood Flowing In Eastern Nigeria”. The 282-Page Special International Report was unveiled in Enugu on December 22, 2024 at an international Press Conference. Not less than 19 pages (105-124) were set aside in the Report on police and military extortions and allied corrupt practices in Eastern Nigeria particularly in the South-East. The deployed security forces and their high commands were found to have mindlessly perpetrated the trio of armed state actor conduct-atrocities in the Region; namely: abductions, unlawful killings and corrupt practices of alarming proportion.

According to patterns and trends of these extortions studied by the Report, there are presently at least 300 direct military roadblocks, and 500 patrol teams or indirect roadblocks mounted on South-East roads-with 98% of them engaging in direct and indirect roadblocks extortions using publicly procured assault rifles and their ammunitions and patrol vans. These extortions and allied corrupt practices by military personnel are contrary to Section 108 of the Armed Forces Act of 2004 which prescribes fourteen years jail for any military personnel found involved in offense of extortion. The Report further found that average of N100,000 is illicitly pocketed daily by each of the military roadblocks; translating to N80m daily from 800 military roadblocks and patrol teams in the South-East or N2.4billion per month and N4.8billion in the past two months of December 2024 and January 2025. Addition of N2billion was included and estimated to have arisen from “direct and indirect barracks extortions” and allied others-totaling N6.8billion, seized at gunpoint and illicitly pocketed from South-East motorists and allied others including those that encountered the military personnel in the past two months of December 2024 and January 2025.
Further discovered were not less than ten sources of indirect military extortion in the South-East: with a clear case in point being patterns and trends of the corrupt practices of the officers and personnel of the Ogbaru Base of the Nigerian Navy at Onitsha and Ogbaru-the most lucrative military roadblock in the South-East; to the extent that not less than N1m is seized at gunpoint and criminally pocketed daily; translating to at least N600m in the past two months of December 2024 and January 2025 by the Uga Junction Main Naval Checkpoint and three others located along Atani Road  and Harbor Industrial Layout in Ogbaru, Anambra State.

Nigeria Police Force Criminally Pocketed N15billion In Two Months: Dec-Jan

In the past two months under reference, the deployed officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and their high commands manning estimated 2,500 direct roadblocks and patrol teams or indirect roadblocks on South-East roads and allied others are found to have been responsible for seizing at gunpoint and criminally pocketing not less than N15billion from motorists, other road users and those that encountered the police authorities at their barracks. The breakdown of the above indicated that Imo State with highest number of police roadblocks and patrol teams (700) in the South-East accounted for N2.94billion in the past two months of December 2024 and January 2025; on daily average of N49million (N70,000 per police roadblock), N1.47billion monthly and N2.94billion in the past two months of December 2024 and January 2025.

Anambra State, which presently maintains second largest police roadblocks and patrol teams in the Region with estimated 600, N42million was criminally pocketed daily, N1.26billion monthly and N2.52billion in the past two months of December 2024 and January 2025. In Abia State with third largest police roadblocks and patrol teams of estimated 500 in the Region, N35million was criminally pocketed daily, N1.05billion monthly and N2.1billion in the past two months of December 2024 and January 2025. In Enugu State with fourth largest police roadblocks and patrol teams of 400 in the Region, N28million was criminally pocketed daily, N840million monthly and N1.68billion in the past two months of December 2024 and January 2025; and Ebonyi State with fifth largest police roadblocks in the Region of 300 police roadblocks and patrol teams, N21m was pocketed daily, N630m monthly and N1.26billion in two months of December and January 2025.

Addition of estimated N3.5billion was made, representing ‘criminal billions’ seized at gunpoint from those that encountered police authorities at police barracks including “bail fees” and monetization and commercialization of arrest, detention and criminal investigations as well as N1billion added as “dark figures of crimes”; totaling estimated N15billion; or N10.5billion arising from direct and indirect roadblock extortions plus N3.5billion arising from “Police Barracks Extortions” and N1billion arising from “dark figures of police corruption proceeds”; totaling N15billion. It must be informed that Police roadblock extortion in Nigeria particularly in the South-East is prohibited and criminalized by Section 99 of the Criminal Code Act of 2004 and Section 408 of the Penal Code Act of 2004; both of which prescribe jail terms of three-seven years; and three-fourteen years respectively.

Kidnappers Seized N600m In 20 Days (Dec 28-Jan 18) And N1.2b In Dec-Jan

Estimated N600million was seized at gunpoint from 2024 Christmas and January 2025 New Year holiday makers or returnees by armed non-state actors operating with assault rifles and criminal digital devices in Anambra, Imo, Enugu and others. The seizure of the estimated N600million by armed criminal syndicates affected more than 100 victims forced at gunpoint to pay the ransoms demanded, which heightened between December 28, 2024, and January 18, 2025; a period  that marked the peak of the two festivities during which members of many South-East families returned home for post-Christmas and New Year activities including burials, funerals, marriage ceremonies, town union meetings, etc. Among the five South-East States, the worst hit was Anambra where estimated N250million or more was seized from kidnap victims through their relatives, friends and associates; out of which Aguata, Orumba North and Orumba South Local Government Areas took the lead with not less than N150million including N35million paid at gunpoint by relatives and associates of a multimillionaire businessman between Ezinifite, Igboukwu and Uga on Dec 28, 2024; N16million (N8m each) paid at gunpoint by parents and other relatives of two siblings abducted on Dec 29, 2024 in the area and not less than N25m paid by relatives and associates of four others abducted same day in the area.
On Jan 16, 2025, another indigene of the area was abducted and released the next day after millions of naira found in his account was transferred out at gunpoint. On Dec 28, 2024, not less than five indigenes of Achina were targeted and abducted at a relaxation joint located between Amesi and Umuchu and held captive in kidnappers’ den for several days until their relatives and associates coughed out tens of millions of naira for their release. Elsewhere around Urum part of the State, a Reverend Father was abducted and later freed after his friends and associates paid N20million, during which a man who was held with him paid N10.3m. A United Kingdom-based businessman was abducted on Jan 10, 2025, at Amaokpala in Orumba North of Anambra State. He had returned for funeral service of his cousin and was freed after three days on payment of undisclosed millions of naira.  Before then, a lady banker was abducted on Dec 13, 2024, and held for days, and later killed and dumped by her captors along a popular roadside after sources said her abductors collected N25million ransom and went ahead to kill her. There were also two Catholic nuns abducted on Tuesday, Jan 7, 2025, along Ufuma Road in Orumba North, and freed six days after, but it was unclear if ransoms were paid before they were released.  These are just to mention but a few.

Kidnappers in the South-East also made Imo State the second worst hit State in twenty days of Dec 28, 2024 and January 18, 2025, during which not less than N150million was seized from kidnap victims at gunpoint; followed by Enugu State with estimated N100million including tens of millions of naira strongly believed to have been seized by Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen from freed victims of three 18-Seater busloads of passengers abducted at Enugu-Ezike in Igbo Eze North of Enugu State on Thursday, Jan 9, 2025 involving at least 40 passengers. The passengers were traveling to Kogi and nearby northern parts when they were abducted and held for days by the Jihadists during which their mobile phones and other valuables were seized and dispossessed; and all the monies in their accounts transferred out. Parents and associates of some of the victims were also believed to have hurriedly transferred tens of millions of naira to have their loved ones freed.

Abia and Ebonyi States also grappled with kidnap-for-ransom particularly along their highways, urban centers and farmlands by Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen, communal warlords and allied others; accounting for not less than N100million under 20 days of December 28, 2024, and January 18, 2025. In all, nothing less than N600million was lost to Jihadist kidnappers and others drawn from Counterfeit Biafra Agitators and “street criminal entities” thriving in kidnapping syndicates in 20 days of December 28, 2024, and January 18, 2025. Generally, nothing less than N1.2billion was most likely to have been lost to kidnappers by defenseless South-Easterners in the past two months of December 2024 and January 2025 in the Region.

180 Defenseless Civilians Killed In Two Months (Dec 2024 And Jan 2025)

By our findings derived from our December 22, 2024, Special International Report (“Ocean Of Innocent Blood Flowing In Eastern Nigeria”: 282 Pages, not less than 180 defenseless citizens of the South-East were attacked and killed in the past two months of December 2024 and January 2025. The breakdown shows that armed non-state actors took responsibility for at least 140 defenseless civilian deaths; during which Imo State was the worst hit with not less than 70 deaths, followed by Anambra with at least 40 deaths and Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi accounting for the remaining 30 deaths. Among the not less than seventy  defenseless civilian deaths recorded in the hands of armed non-state actors in Imo State, at least 45 including women and children were killed in four communities in Orsu Local Government Area where many of them were mowed down and inflicted with savagely matchet cuts and gun attacks.

Their gruesome murder had taken place between Jan 5 and 8, 2025, during which, according to eyewitnesses spoken to by the Intersociety, eighteen defenseless persons including women and children were mowed down in Ihitenansa, eight in Eziawa, nine in Umuhu-Okabia, six in Ebenato and one person in Awo-Idemmili. The killings have since continued including killing of at least two persons on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Orsu-Ihiteukwa part of the Local Government Area. In Anambra State, the not less than 40 killed included at least ten in Ihiala on December 30, 2024; during which a Reverend Father was days earlier shot and killed in the area. A female banker was also among those killed in the State during the period as well as scores of others abducted by kidnappers and killed in their dens.

The security forces including military personnel, police crack squads and sub-state actor killer vigilantes accounted for not less than 40 civilian deaths across the South-East during the period. The 40 civilian deaths in the hands of the security forces represented those killed outside the law or due process and their killings ‘weaponized’ to justify their atrocious killing. Among them are not less than eight recently killed in Imo State by police crack squads and another eight killed by the Anambra Vigilante Service on Tuesday, Jan 28, 2025 in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State; in addition to scores of others abducted by military personnel and police crack squads  who are unlikely to come back alive.

200 Defenseless Civilians Abducted In December 2024 And January 2025:

The Nigerian Security Forces (military personnel, police crack squads and sub-state actor killer vigilantes), the Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen and allied others, ‘Street Violent Criminal Entities’ and armed Counterfeit Biafra Agitators have separately been responsible for abduction of no fewer than 200 members of the South-East civilian population across the Region in the past two of December 2024 and January 2025; out of which about 160 were abducted by armed non-state actors and 40 others abducted and taken to unknown destinations outside the knowledge of their families and official records. Many of the 40 security forces abductees were those taken away outside the law by military personnel while the remaining ones got missing in the hands of police crack squads. It must be clarified that killing members of civilian population or unarmed citizens suspected to have offended criminal law, before or after their arrest is a serious criminal offense in Nigeria and under international law. Weaponization of crime detection and law enforcement operations is also a serious criminal offense; likewise, killings involving sub-state actor vigilantes disempowered by law to kill, detain, investigate and prosecute. Arresting civilian citizens and taking them away without the knowledge of their families and outside official records clearly amount to enforced disappearances which could lead to extrajudicial, extra jus and extralegal executions.

Further, the breakdown of the abduction of estimated 160 defenseless civilians of the South-East Trado-Judeo-Christian faith and extraction by armed non-state actors across the South-East in the past two months of December 2024 and January 2025 included estimated 60 abducted in Anambra State, 50 abducted in Imo State, 40 abducted in Enugu State and the rest abducted in other parts of the South-East. Also observed was the fact that more than 95% of the 160 abductees by armed non-state actors were forced to pay ransoms through their relatives, friends and associates. In Anambra State where at least 60 were abducted, Aguata, Orumba North and Orumba South accounted for not less than 30 including a retired Anglican Bishop, two Catholic nuns, seven persons abducted between Ezinifite, Igboukwu and Uga, six persons abducted between Amesi and Umuchu, one abducted at Amaokpala, etc.  Imo State with not less than 50 abductees included those abducted for ransom along the State’s highways and its troubled local government areas and communities. In Enugu State with at least 40 abductees, the most noticeable was the abduction on January 13, 2025 of at least 40 travelers by Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen in Enugu-Ezike part of the Igbo Eze Local Government Area.
There is likelihood of others representing “dark figures of crime” involving unrecorded victims abducted by Jihadists and other criminal entities on their way to 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays or while returning back from to their bases from the same particularly along the highways. Other victims were those recorded in the remaining parts of the South-East especially along their highways.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's Detention And The Hardship In Nigeria

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu IPOB leader

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's Detention And The Hardship In Nigeria

By Eluwa Chidiebere Chinazu | Biafra Writers

October 27, 2024

Before the illegal detention of the Biafran leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on 27th June, 2021, many Nigerians harbored the belief that the Biafran leader was in all facets a great impediment to Nigeria's growth. Kanu was blamed for Nigeria's woes and hated by those who upheld and nurtured the faith of a workable Nigeria - a faith that many see as mirage through Kanu's brilliant expositions on Radio Biafra.

Upon Kanu's arrest, Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the then President Buhari, accused Kanu of inflicting hardship on Nigerians. With this statement from Garba Shehu, Nigerians were in high spirits, hoping for the best since the bad egg is in detention. Unfortunately, they got the worst after arresting their supposed "Mr. Hardship" called Nnamdi Kanu.

From the religious view, Nigeria is currently nothing less than a curse. In comity of nations, Nigeria is a perfect example of a failed state. People no longer canvas for infrastructural developments, rather their main problem is food.

To say that Nigeria is bereaved of success is not exaggeration. Nigeria lacks the gumption to salvage the economic meltdown that has befallen it. The depth of Nigeria's debt causes goose bumps to her citizens. Nigeria is already on her knees.

Hunger has really humbled Nigerians. The wise words of Nnamdi Kanu are rapidly coming to fruition. It was the devastated situation of Somalia that gave rise to the phrase "failed state" in 1991, now that there is a country worse than the then Somalia, what phrase do we coin from Nigeria deplorable situation.

IPOB blames Northern Elders Forum, Gov Peter Mba over killings in Enugu Community

IPOB blames Northern Elders Forum, Gov Peter Mba over killings in Enugu Community

May 5, 2024 | The Biafran Times

IPOB Press Release

The global family and movement of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by the resolute and formidable leader, Mazi Nnamdi KANU condemns the Fulani terrorists attacks on the peaceful Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani LGA of Enugu State in Biafra land which left many dead and others severely wounded. The barbaric Fulani jihadist masquerading as herdsmen went into a peaceful community with assault rifles and killed defenceless men, women and children without provocations.

IPOB blames the Fulani terrorists attack at Uzo-Uwani in Enugu State on Governor, Barr. Peter Mba. IPOB has warned Dr. Peter Mba severally against his evil romance with leaders of Fulani herdsmen who want the Governor to allocate land to them for Fulani settlements. His romance with the terrorists emboldened them to launch a terrorist attack and killed over 10 persons in his State to test his loyalty. As expected, the Fulani puppet, Governor Mba did  not mention the Fulani herdsmen as the attackers during his hypocritic visit to the attacked community let alone call for their arrest. His political ambition has beclouded his conscience. The Governor's cowardice statement on the murderous attack in his own Enugu State is an endorsement to the Fulani terrorists to lunch further attacks. But IPOB and ESN will resist both Governor Peter Mba, his Fulani Masters, and their terrorists masked as herdsmen from turning Enugu State into a killing field. Peter Mba's eight (8) year governorship ambition must not become human sacrifice of the lives of Enugu citizens. Well meaning citizens of Enugu and Ndigbo in general must caution Peter Mba not to surrender Enugu citizens to the slaughter house of jihadists because of his political ambition.

Similarly, Northern Elders Forum (NEF) must be held responsible for the Fulani terrorists attack in Enugu State. The evil men in NEF were the ones that sent their foot soldiers called herdsmen to attack Enugu State to justify the false alarm they raised last week that IPOB-ESN are killing Northerners living in Biafra or the Eastern Region. The outcry of terrorist sponsors in NEF was an open invitation to the Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen to attack Igboland in reprisal. Northern Elders Forum message to Biafrans is clear. ESN will reply to their message in our own way at our own time.

IPOB sympathizes with the victims of the Fulani terrorists attack and advises them to continue to be on guard and to stop fraternizing with the Fulanis in their communities. Enugu State citizens should mobilize themselves for self-defense because their Governor and the Nigeria Security Forces are working with the Fulani terrorists to kill and forcefully occupy their ancestral land. ESN will be of help if provided with timely and accurate information about the terrorists' movements. ESN can be contacted via appropriate channels or via IPOB  inquiry lines available online.

For those who don't know, the reason the Federal Government of animal kingdom called Nigeria and some Eastern politicians are still detaining Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (MNK) is to buy time to create Fulani settlements in the Southeast. They know that if MNK is around, this Fulani nonsense would  have NEVER continued. But as long as IPOB-ESN is still around their fulanization agenda will be resisted and completely frustrated. Those who think that keeping Mazi Nnamdi Kanu  away will favour their agenda are mistaken because IPOB volunteers and ESN will ensure that no Fulani settlement will be established in any part of Biafra Land.
Fulani terrorists nicknamed herdsmen and their sponsors must understand that IPOB never dies and will never die until Biafra is restored as a sovereign and independent nation.

Enugwu Stakeholders  should join IPOB to warn  Dr. Peter Mba and his government not to cede any inch of Enugu land to Fulani terrorists for whatever purpose. His governorship ambition does not worth the lives and security of Enugwu people. Governor Peter Mba should stand up as an Igbo man and defend his people from terrorists and stop behaving like an ostrich.

IPOB dares Iwuanyanwu led Ohanaeze over shameful move to apologize to the caliphate

IPOB dares Iwuanyanwu led Ohanaeze over shameful move to apologize to the Fulani caliphate

...says Ohaneze Ndigbo has committed a sacrilege and abomination against Ndigbo and against all the indigenous peoples in Nigeria.

IPOB PRESS RELEASE

May 3, 2024 | The Biafran Times

The attention of the family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by the indomitable leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has been drawn to the sacrilegious and shameful move by Ohaneze Ndigbo to apologize to the murderous Fulani Caliphate in what they called ablution and what they called (Ako na obi).

Ohaneze has crossed the red line by attempting to go and apologize to the Fulani terrorists for what the clueless Ohaneze called forgiveness from the Caliphate for Igbo military officers involvement in the 1966 coup that led to the death of Sir Ahmadu Bello. By the abominable planned visit of Ohaneze Ndigbo will be on record as aggressors instead of victims.

These redcap thieves in Ohaneze are morons and ignorant fellows that have allowed bribe money to take away their sense of reasoning.

These redcap thieves in Ohaneze are morons and ignorant fellows that have allowed bribe money to take away their sense of reasoning. These men are the household enemies of Ndigbo and other indigenous people in Nigeria.
Blood tasty Fulanis have murdered indigenous people of Biafra and Ndigbo from 1933, 1945, 1953 1966 till date, Indigenous People of Hausa, indigenous people of Yoruba, indigenous people of Middle Belt and other indigenous peoples in Nigeria. These murderous Fulanis have not apologized for killing millions of indigenous people in Nigeria. But the vampires in Ohaneze had efontry to planned to go and apologize to the Fulani Caliphate for the military coup of 1966.

The military coup of January 15, 1966 was carried out by young military officers from all ethnic groups in Nigeria to stop Mallam Ahmadu Bello and Abubarka Tafa Belawa from the  forceful Islamization of Nigeria. But Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu and other young military officers including those from Northern, Western saw this and stop them with Middle Belt regions stopped them in a bloody coup. Ndigbo never sent military officers to stage a coup for them or to murder on their behalf. Nevertheless, the 1966 coup that was carried out by the young military officers from all the ethnic groups in Nigeria was viciously tagged as Igbo coup. Why was the military coup led by Murtala Muhammed, Babangida, Buhari, Abacha and other Northern military officers not tagged Hausa or Fulani coup?

This bunch of Fulani handpicked traitors in Ohaneze, led by Iwuanyanwu have not boldly condemned the Fulanis murderous activities against Ndigbo but decided to make a caricature of Ndigbo's integrity by going to apologize to the murderers.

Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership has seen cash given by Fulani Caliphate to misrepresent Ndigbo and declare Ndigbo guilty of a crime that was no committed by Ndigbo. Ndigbo has been victims of Fulani massacre in the Northern Nigeria from 1933 till date. During the genocidal war of 1966 - 1970 millions of Ndigbo were massacred both pregnant women and unborn children. Still today Ndigbo are being slaughtered in their farms and homes by Fulani terrorists, case of recent Uzo Uwani of Enugu State is a case study. This bunch of Fulani handpicked traitors in Ohaneze, led by Iwuanyanwu have not boldly condemned the Fulanis murderous activities against Ndigbo but decided to make a caricature of Ndigbo's integrity by going to apologize to the murderers.

This is the height of insult not only to Ndigbo but also to all the indigenous people in Nigeria who have been victims of the sponsored Fulani terrorists attacks. If Ndigbo continues to allow these traitors called Ohaneze Ndigbo to continue parade themselves as leaders of Ndigbo, the lives and safety of Ndigbo is completely compromised, Iwuanyanwu and Co should know that nobody elected him, he should resign now before its become late. The Fulani handpicked treacherous leaders in Ohaneze are representing the interest of Fulani Caliphate not that of Ndigbo. It is time to stop the treacherous Ohaneze from parading themselves as representatives of Ndigbo. They were never appointed nor elected by Ndigbo but they selected and appointed themselves with the approval of their political Masters and Fulani leadership and Hope Uzodinma.

Ohaneze Ndigbo has betrayed Ndigbo. They betrayed Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. They betrayed Peter Obi's presidency. Ohaneze are a bunch of handpicked Fulani political stooges who want to speak for Ndigbo without Ndigbo's consent.
Chief Iwuanyawu led Ohaneze faction are traitors. Hope Uzodinma and his Fulani Masters selected Iwuanyawu as Ohaneze president to do their bidding. These insatiable, potbelly political jobbers in Ohaneze do not represent the interest of Ndigbo.

The gullible men have been brainwashed by their Fulani Masters to apologize to them and take responsibility of atrocities on-behalf of Ndigbo for the actions of Nigeria military officers when some of them were not born.
Sometimes these insatiable fellows claimed that Igbo youths insult their Elders its now clear that they the cause of it.

How clueless and senseless these men can be for  political favours. If Iwanyawu led the Ohaneze ndioshi faction dare go ahead to criminalize Ndigbo with the so called apologies, they will attract serious consequences as long as IPOB is concerned.

If Ohaneze Ndigbo dare travel to the Northern Nigeria and apologize to the murderous Fulani Caliphate, IPOB will declare them persona non gratas.

The eagle eyes of IPOB are watching them and they will not go free for having such minds. If Ohaneze Ndigbo dare travel to the Northern Nigeria and apologize to the murderous Fulani Caliphate, IPOB will declare them persona non gratas. And an order will be given to treat anyone that identifies himself or herself as an Ohaneze Ndigbo member both at home and in Diaspora as a criminal and traitor and will be treated as one. Infact, going forward, Ohaneze Ndigbo hould stop speaking or representing Ndigbo. Chief Iwuanyawu your time has elapsed, Iwuanyanwu led Ohaneze faction are on their own as no Igbo person, group, association or community send them to apologize to the murderous Fulani terrorists and their sponsors. If Iwuanyanwu and his factional  group goes to Sokoto to apologize to the Fulani murderers, they should remain there forever. We reject them as Igbos from that point forward.

Place Arms Embargo On The Nigerian Government, IPOB Calls On Italian Government

Place Arms Embargo On The Nigerian Government, IPOB Calls On Italian Government

April 24, 2024 | The Biafra Times

IPOB PRESS RELEASE

The global family and movement of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by the great and indomitable leader Mazi Nnamdi Okwu Kanu calls on the Italian Government to halt sale of  airforce Jets to the Nigeria government, but instead place an arms embargo on the Nigeria Government for flagrant violations of human rights and shelling of peaceful Communities of Indigenous peoples in Nigeria.

We call on all civilized nations to stop further sales of military hardware and software to Nigeria because of their pretense of fighting terrorists. The Nigeria government has created the terrorist groups that they are pretending to have been fighting in order to displace Indigenous nations and allow individuals in power to loot the country's funds. Therefore, we appeal to the Italian government to stop the military aircraft purchase deal they entered into with the Nigeria government. We also ask other countries considering selling arms to Nigeria to stop because Nigeria is not using the arms for their intended purposes. IPOB has no intention to interfere with the Italian Government's business but wants to inform them that the  Nigeria military have not used the previously acquired arms and ammunition including fighter jets to fight terrorists who operate in the open in the Northern Nigeria but have targeted innocent and peaceful people. Unarmed IPOB members have also been the victims of Nigeria military's brutality. Some of the Internally Displaced People's (IDP) Camps in Nigeria have been intentionally bombed by the Nigeria military to prevent the displaced persons from returning to their communities already ceded to the terrorists as their own. Recently, an Okuama Community in Delta State, Nigeria, was invaded, bombed, and the entire community displaced by the Nigeria military. The Nigerian government and her murderous military are known for human rights violations and genocide against her civilians.

In 2021, the Nigerian Air Force bought "12" A-29 Super Tucano Jets from the United State of America to fight terrorism in Nigeria.
After the delivery of those fighter jets, they were deployed in the Eastern region of the country and were used in bombing of Igbo villages and its people mostly in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.
From the day the Tucano jets arrived Nigeria in 2021 till late 2023, they were never used against terrorists but were consistently used in bombing of innocent people in Imo State in the Eastern part of the country that is Biafra land and also in bombing of ID camps in the North who are victims of Boko Haram terrorists attacks.

The Nigerian government's plan to purchase about 20 more fighter jets from Italy for the Nigerian Air Force now raises the question;
Why would the Italian government consider selling fighter jets to Nigeria to be used on innocent, armless and peaceful Igbo communities  like the U.S. deed in 2021? If the Italian government cares about the lives of Indigenous Peoples in Nigeria, then this deal has to be cancelled because it is a threat to the lives of millions of people resident in the Eastern region (Igboland).

Nigeria government deceived United State of America in 2021 that those Tucano jets will be used against terrorists in the country, have they also told another lie to the Italian government so that they can secure the purchase of these Air Force jets?
We are watching.

The live of the Indigenous Biafrans must be protected at all means by cancelling this deal to sell arms to Nigeria.

It is public knowledge that the Nigerian government and her military are not sincere in the fight against terrorists. Instead, they are after unarmed activists and innocent Nigerians. The Nigerian government is indirectly sponsoring terrorists and that is why there is no terrorist in detention or on trial in Nigeria. On the contrary, the arrested terrorists have all been released by the Nigeria government and her military. The Nigeria government negotiates with the terrorists and pay them millions of dollars in ransom. These terrorists operate freely from their   camps in the open desert vegetation of the Northern Nigeria, which can easily be mapped out by aerial surveillance of the military. That confirms that the Nigeria government is not sincere in the fight against terrorists but uses terrorism as a means to fleece public funds.

IPOB urges the Italian government to halt the sale of jets to the Nigeria government because their fight against terrorism is a hoax.  The Italian government should not fall into the Nigeria government's deception. Any supply of arms and ammunition to the Nigeria government is a tacit support to human rights abuse and violations. The Italian government and her citizens are civilized and should not support any government that is violating the fundamental human rights of her citizens. Civilized Nations should not fall into the falsehood peddled by the Nigeria government and her Air Force over fighting terrorists but in reality, they are killing innocent people because of ethnic bigotry and greed.

We are calling on the Italian Prime Minister, Ms. Giorgia Meloni, to place an arms embargo on the Nigeria government for their history of bombing civilian population and for human right violations. The Nigeria government and airforce entered into agreement with the Italian government to supply them 24 aircrafts and for 6 aircrafts to be delivered every six months. The aircrafts were scheduled for every six months starting soon.

IPOB members worldwide demand civilized nations across the world to stop the supply of arminations to Nigeria because they are indirectly sponsoring Boko Haram and other terrorist groups in Northern Nigeria to continue.

Stop Discrimination Against Biafran Tenants - IPOB Warns Landlords

Stop Discrimination Against Biafran Tenants - IPOB Warns Landlords

April 23, 2024 | The Biafra Times

IPOB Press Release

The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by the indefatigable leader Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu KANU call on all Biafran landlords to stop any form of discrimination against other Biafrans in Biafra Land. No Igbo person should be discriminated against and mistreated based on his state of origin or on the basis of past experiences with people from the particular state.

The attention of IPOB leadership has been drawn to the actions of some landlords in Igbo land who refused to rent their houses to some people from particular State, especially Ebonyi people. Some of these landlords, particularly in Anambra and Enugu States, some landlords' actions were based on the ugly experiences they had in the past with tenants from the states in question. Even if it is true that some individuals and criminal elements murdered their landlords in cold blood while others deliberately damaged the house rented to them, that should not be the basis for discrimination against any entire state. So, we condemn the attitude of generalization of these bad behaviors to everyone from those states and regret punishing innocent people for the sins of others. The fact that there are innocent and good people in every community and state means there are also criminals and bad people in each community and state.

The landlords in Biafra Land must stop any form of stereotyping and discrimination against other Biafrans from other states. Nobody should be allowed or denied housing based on his community's or state's reputation. From Coastal Biafrans to Hinterland Biafrans, no state or individual is more Biafran than others. People must be treated as individuals and not discriminated against based on their State of Origin or actions of others from their state. IPOB advises landlords to conduct thorough investigation on their potential tenants before renting a house to them. Even after renting houses, the landlords have the right to carry out investigative inspections on his or her property and the tenant's use of it. If the tenant is found wanting, the landlord can refuse to rent the house or terminate the lease agreement based on his or her findings. The refusal to rent to a tenant or the decision to terminate a rent agreement should never be based on what state the tenant is from.

Ndigbo is known for justice. In our towns and villages, individual criminals are singled out and treated without discrimination against their families unless the family collectively supports and benefits from the crime. Even the Nigeria constitution does not allow you to use crime from one person to harm another. No Igbo man is more important than the other. Ndigbo see themselves as one tribe and we must remain one tribe till enternity. We call ourselves brothers and sisters ( Nwanne) wherever we meet each other. The enemies have worked so hard to create disunity, division, and prejudices among Ndigbo after the Biafra genocidal war. They have used movie makers, actors, politicians, skit makers, and content-creators, and now they also want to use Igbo Landlords. These mischief makers should go somewhere else and leave Ndigbo alone. God Almighty Chukwu Okike Abiama made us whom we are. We must not allow our enemies to divide, conquer, and rule us through prejudices and discrimination. Ndigbo must remember our Igbo slogan, "Igwe bu ike," whether you are from Anambra, Imo, Abia, Enugu, Delta, River, Ebonyi, Cross River, and so on, we are ONE! Henceforth, every form of discrimination in house renting must stop.

When Biafra is restored, discrimination, tribalism, and nepotism will be punishable offenses. Therefore, our people must begin to reprogram their minds and avoid any form of discrimination among each other. IPOB can not gather Ndigbo together while some people are scattering us apart. IPOB will not take it kindly with any landlord seen discriminating against any Biafran based on his state of origin. All Biafra Landlords must be guided and act lovingly towards all of us. Ndewo nu!

Man Of The Year: Nnamdi Kanu, A Phenomenal Extraordinary Personality, Nominated By A Popular Vote

Man Of The Year: Nnamdi Kanu, A Phenomenal Extraordinary Personality, Nominated By A Popular Vote

December 25, 2023 | The Biafran Times

In the history and study of modern and ancient sociopolitical movements around the world, certain figures emerge as rare gems and catalysts for change, championing the holistic cause and aspirations of their people, this includes even when a proportionate number of the people does not consciously appreciate the ups and downs surrounding the task, the challenges that the struggle portends, and the immense sacrifices required to achieve the desired goal.

One such individual who has carved a niche for himself in the annals and books of modern history is Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra movement and the crowned prince of Afara Ukwu Ibeku - his clan traditional rulership mantle. Widely regarded as a standard-bearer which naturally endowed him the Igbo highly reserved and revered title of "Ohamadike 1 of Biafra" - a man of valor, and the epitome of exceptional leadership (Onyendu) – a leader who leads from the front, and bares a firsthand experience of the enemy's attacks and belligerent overtures.

Kanu's journey in life as a freedom fighter, and Self-determination activist is both fascinating and also immersed in complexities.
He undoubtedly, deserves the honor of the "Man of the Year" title being nominated, for his exceptional leadership and never-say-die activism. His impact on the voices yearning for emancipation in Nigeria today, cannot be overstated nor overemphasized.

Nnamdi Kanu's evolution into a freedom fighter can be traced back to his early life. Born to a family deeply rooted in the Igbo culture, Kanu's sense of identity and belonging became pivotal in shaping his convictions. His journey for Biafra self-determination commenced with the revamping of the defunct Radio Biafra, a media platform that would later become central, and very instrumental in disseminating his message of freedom to his people, and global community.

Kanu's advocacy for the independence of Biafra is characterized by his steadfast commitment to the cause. His unwavering belief in the right to self-determination for the people of Eastern Nigeria has positioned him as a standard-bearer for the contemporary Biafran independence movement. Through his speeches and time-tested pronouncements, Kanu aroused a vision and consciousness that resonates with those who sincerely sought freedom and liberty from systemic oppression.

At the heart of Kanu's influence and activism lies his extraordinary leadership style. He combines charisma with a great deal of understanding of the ills confronting his people. His ability to objectively articulate issues at hand, and propose durable, painstaking solutions has garnered him a dedicated followership of global outreach. His leadership transcends the conventional, as it navigates through complexities of politics with pragmatic diplomacy and finesse.

While the term "freedom fighting" often depicts the images of conflicts and physical confrontations, Nnamdi Kanu distinguishes himself as a man of peace. His calls for a peaceful and diplomatic resolution to the Biafran question - through a United Nations supervised referendum - underscore a commitment to avoiding unnecessary bloodshed. This makes him outstanding from those who initially from the onset embraced and adopted the radical approach against oppression and occupation, even without giving a benefit of doubt.

Kanu's impact has not gone unnoticed on the global stage. His activism over the years has earned him a definite relationship platform with certain, respected world leaders and institutions, reflecting the acknowledgment of his efforts in championing the cause of the Biafran people jealously yet without cynicism. This honor is not merely a personal accolade but a recognition of the broader movement he represents and the aspirations of those who rally behind, and around him.

However, the path to freedom and emancipation is fraught with challenges and confrontations. Yet, Kanu's pragmatic approach of obliging the Nigeria judiciary system irrespective of the high-handedness of the Nigerian authorities, remains indispensable.

Moreover, the nomination of Kanu as the best freedom fighter of 2023 through a popular opinion poll conducted on the X social network platform, buttresses the fact about the viral support and admiration he has earned from a disproportionate members of the society, as a result of his long sufferings and consistency, even under immense physical and psychological torture behind the solitary confinement walls of the Nigerian secret police (DSS), cell for over two years.

The acknowledgment from the public reflects the resonance of his message, and how deep it has sunk into the minds of those who believes and concurs with it. Kanu's ability to mobilize public opinion and rally support speaks volumes about his influence and the indispensability of his person in the affairs of the people of Eastern Nigeria especially as it pertains the socioeconomic and political aspect of life. It can be safe to say, that all of which revolves around him, as the people has immense trust in him, thus invariably trusts his judgement as uncompromising and unbetraying.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu stands as a phenomenal and extraordinary freedom fighter whose impact so far, reverberates beyond the confines of the Nigerian landscape. His journey decorated by his commitment to peace, his unfettered resolve for true independence as well as his unique leadership style, paints a portrait of a man deeply connected to his roots and the aspirations of his people.

While controversies from certain quarters about him may surely exist, however his recognition as the Man of the Year - not only through the online poll, but also on the ground worldwide -  reflects the acknowledgment of his significant role in shaping the discourse on self-determination as far the history of Nigeria is concerned. Whether one views him as a hero or a controversial figure, Nnamdi Kanu remains, an undeniable enigma in history of freedom fighting of the 21st Century.

The Continued Detention Of Kanu A Catalyst For Biafra Sovereignty

The Continued Detention Of Kanu A Catalyst For Biafra Sovereignty

By Eluwa Chidiebere Chinazu | Biafra Writers

November 23, 2023

Many have questioned the possibility of the emergence of the sovereign state of Biafra. This is so in the wake of the continued detention of IPOB Supreme Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. A good number even, although previously had maintained high hopes in the struggle, now wallow in despair. The incarceration of Kanu did the damage.

But has the hope of restoring Biafra been buried truly with the illegal detention of the leader? If so, then why is Kanu still being held even without a verdict? It is not as though he is sentenced and serving a jail term; no, he is not even convicted. They are just illegally holding him.

From time immemorial, the defeat of a people is shown by beheading their leader or sending him to an indefinite jail. This in all honesty is the Nigerian wish for the Biafran leader. Nevertheless, Nigeria being cautious enough to keep Kanu in detention, albeit illegally, is an indication that the restoration of Biafra is underway.

Nigeria, through the court numerous adjournment, may be buying time, waiting for when the people will forget their leader before snuffing life out of him. But as the saying goes, while the hunter is preparing his gun to shoot, the bird is also sharpening its wings to fly.

Sidelining a people politically, geographically, economically and siphoning every human and natural resources in their land, is tantamount to slavery. But in all these, one thing is sure, at last Biafra will fly.

Nigerian Judiciary, Military - Architect Of Corruption; Kanu The Way Out

Nigerian Judiciary, Military - Architect Of Corruption; Kanu The Way Out

October 26, 2023

By Eluwa Chidiebere Chinazu | Biafra Writers

The commons in Nigeria have made several attempts to effect change since independence of Nigeria in 1960, all to no avail. The last of them all is the Obident Movement. Socially and politically, their efforts held no water till date.

The architects  of corruption in the country have managed to forestall such efforts through the midwifery of the judiciary and the military. While the military moulds them down in certain cases, the judiciary sweeps every hope under the carpet in other cases.

These two agencies do more harm than good to the Nigerian folk. Even before the emergence of the Obident Movement, lots of people have lost hope in the Nigerian project. The squashing of the Obident Movement however buried any modicum of hope left in the people - courtesy of the judiciary.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, it now seems, is the only hope of the masses. Although some quarters are yet to grasp the  potency of the Kanu factor to their collective goal, Kanu certainly remains the only weapon left for the common Nigerian to press forward.

Kanu is for justice. An incredible element that common Nigerians can unite for to get what they want. It is simple: demand for his release in the name of justice and see how everything will turn around for the better.

Southeast Insecurity: Government Aims To Rally The People Against IPOB

By Eluwa Chidiebere Chinazu | Biafra Writers

August 17th, 2023.

Before this wind of insecurity in southeast gummed on the lips of the Nigerian media, the Southeast region has for long been militarized to the brim. Just as with every other territory under military siege in the world, the soldiers assigned to this region have been committing all manner of crimes mostly in the night. They rape, rob, extort, and harass citizens without provocation. Fortunately for the region however, IPOB emerged.

The rise of insecurity in the region and the consequent spurious moves by the Nigerian government and its pocketed duplicitous media to profile the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) as the culprit, call for urgent attention. Before  we get bamboozled by the enemy media and so cast our stone at IPOB, let us ponder on the processes that brought insecurity into existence in the region. Let's ask ourselves how the insecurity in the Southeast began, what caused it, who is behind it and who fought against it? These are the synoptical questions that will not only help us ascertain the perpetrators but also equip our minds to be able to digest the enemy's scheme in accusing IPOB.

Whenever the issue of southeast insecurity is presented on the table, the Fulani movement called Fulani Nationalism and popularly known as Ruga, should come to mind. The Buhari government through Ruga occasioned insecurity on regions opposed to it. Many lives and properties were destroyed trying to force it on the people. IPOB being the single most important body in that vehement rejection, became an enemy of the government.

Ruga massacred families, heightened tension, destroyed homes and means of livelihood. The horrible stories of an old women raped in their farms, young girls gangraped, mother and child butchered in their farms, villages burnt etc, were no good news at all. IPOB rose to the occasion.

It is said that politics and insecurity are one. The stealing of the people's mandate through the government's impossition of Hope Uzodinma as the governor of Imo State was to foster the implementation of Ruga. It was also to punish the southeast region that stood against Ruga through IPOB. By stealing the people's mandate, the government created insecurity.

In a sane society that endorses democracy, protest remains one of the machineries citizens register their feelings. But in a flamboyant disregard to its own law, Nigerian government went ahead to massacre IPOB protesters, creating unnecessary tensions and insecurity.

If the government intention was never to get at IPOB by creating insecurity in the most peaceful region in the country, what then was the reason behind the massacres.  If the government should enforce a movement that decapitates her citizens, who then occasioned insecurity upon the region?

In all intent and purposes, the Nigerian government in their desperation to demonize IPOB, wants to rally the people against IPOB by accusing IPOB of being behind the insecurity in southeast. My advice to the people is to stay focused and don't get hoodwinked by the brown-envelope Nigerian media lies.

Biafra War II- What To Expect

By Eluwa Chidiebere Chinazu | Biafra Writers

August 9th, 2023.

On May 27th, 1967, the Chiefs and Elders representing the Eastern Nigeria, after due consideration of the dangers living in Nigeria poses, went ahead to mandate His Excellency, Lieutenant Colonel Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the then Military Governor of Eastern Nigeria, to declare the Eastern Nigeria an independent state known as the Republic of Biafra.

The aftermath of this declaration is the Biafra-Nigeria war. Nigeria was the aggressor. The war which lasted from 1967-1970 was spuriously declared no victor no vanquished even though the three Rs(Rehabilitation, Reconciliation and Reconstruction) were swept under the carpet.

The war ended in 1970 but the heroic deeds of the Biafran people still dominate the media and resonate till date. Within just three years of independence, Biafrans attained a feat that no African country has ever attained up till now. At the time when technology was at its infancy, Biafra became the first and only African country to build and successfully launch a rocket system and a submarine. Biafrans invented their own bomb and spoke to the world through a telecommunication system engineered by local ingenuity. They built armoured tanks, cars, extracted and refined petrol with their own indigenous technology called the 'The Biafran pot.' Etc.

These were in more than 50 years ago when technology has not become a source of income in Biafra. In recent time, technology has become a means of survival for many in Biafra. There are more than fifteen cities in Biafra land today that are known for their geniuses in technology.

These cities are specialists in duplicating,  reproducing and refurbishing all kinds of technologies they can see or lay hands on. Many of them are hiding from the Nigerian government.

In addition to this, many inventions have been seen on social media and these are coming from Biafrans. According to a Yoruba man, if the Nigerian government is reasonable enough, they should invest a little in technology using Biafrans, because these people are talented in technology.

All over the world Biafrans are making breakthroughs in technology. If these talents could be brought together in a war, the world should be ready for very shocking inventions that would rock the earth. A people don't know their capabilities until they are pushed to war which goes to buttress the conviction that necessity breeds invention.

In Nigeria, Biafrans are found in all states much more than any other tribe. This is so even as Nigerian authority in its duplicity portrays Biafran population as low in census. If such a people decides to take up arms, to destroy the Nigeria will be very easy as infiltration will be carried out without much obstruction.

A planned war cannot be compared to an unplanned war. The first happened abruptly without enough time to plan. Now there's enough time to plan and enough chances to achieve whatever goal one desires.

There are millions of reasons and motivations to push a Biafran to war. On the other hand, anyone who dies for Nigeria would be considered a fool by the relatives and friends. Nigeria has pushed her citizens to the wall, majority have lost hope in Nigeria. Will Nigeria be left to perish by her inhabitants? Your answer is as good as mine.

Nigerian Youths: Kanu The Only Way To Regain Your Voice

Nigerian Youths: Kanu The Only Way To Regain Your Voice

By Eluwa Chidiebere Chinazu | Biafra Times

July 3, 2023

It is now two years since this humongous cruelty was meted out against the leader of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Nigerian government contravenes its own law just to crush the freedom fighter. Though the court  discharged and acquitted Kanu of all charges, the government still held him.

The EndSars massacre and the recent unprecedented electoral fraud orchestrated on the people have triggered a cascade of probing questions among the citizens. The youths in particular now wonder if they are of any value in the country they call their own.

While many were still wondering why the victims of EndSars massacre are yet to get justice, the biggest electoral malpractice was occasioned on the people. It was a broad day robbery and the perpetrators didn't even bother to cover their tracks.  Conversations are therefore around the impunity. Why haven't they been brought to book? why wasn't the election cancelled? Is there no voice for the voiceless?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is the missing rib. While he was out there, he always came handy is situations like this. He is the inspiration the youths crave. The voice in the deep. A game changer whose operations bring the government to board.

Held in solitary confinement, his voice is caged and the common man emasculated. If the youths would stage any meaningful engagement, then they'd better demand Kanu's release, for him alone is the needed catalyst.

Nnamdi Kanu, a Prisoner of Conscience

Nnamdi Kanu, a Prisoner of Conscience

By Ofor Princewill Akubumma | Biafra Writers

June 26, 2023

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)

It is now exactly two years since the Nigerian government abducted, tortured and kept Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in solitary confinement of the Nigerian secret police, DSS, cell in Abuja.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a British-Nigerian activist, was kidnapped by the Nigerian authorities in connivance with Kenyan government on June 18, 2021, at the parking lot of the Jomo Kenyatta International airport, Kenya, where he went for a medical check up.

He was taken to a private residence, chanined on  the bare floor, tortured in the most inhumane manner for days, blindfolded and subsequently flown in a private jet back to Nigeria on handcuffs like a common criminal.

On arrival to Nigeria, he was taken to the detention cells of the Department of State Security, DSS, in Abuja the Nigerian capital where he is being subjected to all manners of torture and inhumane treatment ever since. As a result, he developed a severe ear infection and other countless ailments in the solitary confinement he was kept, culminating in continual deterioration of health every passing day. Even at this, he is denied access to his personal doctors.

Irrespective of the fact that he was extraordinarily renditioned to Nigeria from Kenya, a crime on itself that contravenes the laws of cross border arrest and arbitrary detention, the Nigerian government has refused to obey their own court order which had earlier discharged and acquited him back in October of 2022 by a federal appeal court in the country.

Moreover, aside the court rulings that freed him after all the frivolous 15 count charges levelled against him were squashed by his legal team, a UN working group, after studying the situation surrounding his abduction and rendition, also ordered that he should be released, yet the Nigerian authorities refused to obey any of these orders.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu leads a movement that is seeking an independent state of Biafra from Nigeria on the grounds of gross marginalization and lack of inclusiveness of the Biafran in the scheme of things in a federal Nigeria. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, that he leads is legally registered in over 88 countries in the world, and are going about their agitation in the most peaceful manner since its inception in 2014. IPOB is a massive freedom movement of over 60 million followers both at home and in diaspora.

Being a peaceful movement that believes in the rule of law, Nnamdi Kanu's IPOB have exploited every options in getting justice for their detained leader as they kept pushing for an independent Biafra state through referendum. Sadly however, the Nigerian government keeps flouting court orders.

IPOB PRESS RELEASE: IPOB WORLDWIDE REJECT ANY SURGERY ON OUR LEADER INSIDE DSS DUNGEON.

12th June , 2023

This is the sequel to the deteriorating health condition of our leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU and the proposed ear surgery by Nigeria Government and DSS medical team. IPOB completely rejects any ill-concieved surgery on our leader, Mazi Nnamdi KANU, the leader of IPOB, who has been illegally and unconstitutionally detained in DSS  dungeon for 2 years without charge. We reiterate that he should be released to his personal physicians who will perform the prescribed ear surgery on him.

We want to draw the attention of IPOB worldwide, all  lovers of freedom and lovers of Biafra on the dangerous plans to neutralize Mazi Nnamdi Kanu through ear surgery by the enemies on DSS medical team.

It's obvious that DSS has intentions to eliminate our leader through this  ill-conceived ear surgery. That's why they refused to allow Mazi Nnamdi KANU access to his personal and trusted physicians.

Therefore, we reject any DSS or Nigeria Government sponsored surgery on our leader while he is still being detained illegally in solitary confinement.

It's true that our leader requires urgent ear surgery from the injury the Nigeria Agents inflicted on him when he was kidnapped and tortured in Kenya however, such surgery will not take place while he is still inside DSS dungeon. What will happen if he develops any medical complications during or after the surgery in the detention facilities? Mazi Nnamdi KANU must be unconditionally released as the courts ordered or released on medical grounds to attend to his health.

If Nigerian DSS could not find a qualified ENT doctor to handle Buhari’s ear infections during his eight years in office, how come DSS suddenly have qualified ENT doctors in their team to carry out ear surgery on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu? The same way Buhari was a leader of a nation is the same way Mazi Nnamdi KANU is a leader of 75m people of Biafra Nation. IPOB is capable of taking our leader to any part of the world for the best medical services.

We, therefore, once again call on the Nigeria Government and DSS to release Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu KANU. If anything untoward happens to him, they will dance to any tune IPOB will play for them. We warn them with their  cohorts who are showcasing some doctors as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's doctors to cease and desist.

We urge Biafrans to oppose the planned ear surgery on Mazi Nnamdi KANU as planned by Nigeria Government and DSS agents.

There are serious indications that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will not make it alive if he goes into any operation under the enemies supervision. Mazi Chinasa Nworu will be coming on the air by the weekend to speak on this serious subject and the risk associated with the enemy's planned ear surgery on our leader.

Let the Nigeria Government and DSS release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to his personal physicians to handle the ear surgery. DSS, who were responsible for his ear injury through the brutal torture, can not be trusted to heal him by surgery on the same ear.  Moreso, DSS must not force or medically subdue our leader in order to perform any surgery on him because that will be a declaration of war on Biafrans. If they want to see, let them try such rubbish. Mazi Nnamdi KANU needs urgent surgery, and the only option acceptable to us IPOB worldwide is his unconditional release as ordered by the courts or release on medical grounds to his personal physicians for the said ear surgery.

We call on IPOB and MNK legal teams both home and abroad to reject the Nigeria Government's proposed ear surgery on Mazi Nnamdi KANU. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s wife and his siblings must reject such an offer, too.  Mazi Nnamdi KANU is the leader of over 75 million indigenous people of Biafra, and his health is a national concern that must not be handled carelessly. DSS and those  parading doctors in Abuja should know that Mazi Nnamdi KANU is no longer owned by the KANU family. He is now the property of 75 million Biafran people.

In summary, IPOB, Ndigbo, and Biafrans say NO EAR SURGERY on our leader, Mazi Nnamdi KANU, by the Nigeria Government, DSS, or any other groups' medical team while he is still being illegally detained inside DSS dungeon. Instead, we call for his release from illegal detention for his private ENT doctors to handle the ear surgery.

If we are law abiding country, the court order that acquitted Kanu should have been respected - Senator Shehu Sani

If we are law abiding country, the court order that acquitted Kanu should have been respected - Senator Shehu Sani

June 9, 2023 | The Biafra Times

Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has expressed concern about the continuous incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.

Senator Sani, who spoke on Thursday while featuring on a Channels Television program, stated that he had stayed in prison for a long time, and would for no reason support the Federal Government’s action of keeping the separatist despite a court order.

According to him, if the country was law-abiding, the order of the court acquitting Kanu should have been respected.

As a prisoner who has stayed so long in prison, there is no way a person like me will support an open breach of the Constitution and a violation of fundamental human rights.

A court has given an order for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, and if we are a law-abiding country and committed to the rule of law, we should respect the law.

One of the problems we have in Nigeria today is the separatist agitation in the South Eastern part of Nigeria. If you go to the background of all those separatists, you will see that there was a time in their history when they believed in the indivisibility of the country. Something must have happened along the way,” he said

The Igbos Are Under Siege In Their Country

By Mike Ozekhome | Biafra Times

I am shocked that the Igbos are not speaking up at the apparent siege laid on their land by uniformed person of different categories. They range from Army, Navy, Police, Civil Defence, Customs, FRSC, etc. My journey had taken me by road from Isele-Mkpitime, where I had gone to pay tribute to a Nigerian icon, Chief (Dr) P.K.C. Isagba, the Odogwu of Isele-Mkpitime. He was one of the first Nigerians to believe in my ability as a young fledgling lawyer. I had been handling his cases whilst at Chief Gani Fawehinmi’s Chambers. When I left as Deputy Head to set up my practice in January 1986, Chief Isagba personally went to Chief Gani Fawehinmi, to allow him move his files to me, to continue handling his cases; a request the amiable and selfless Gani granted immediately. So, Chief Isagba became my first major client as a tottering practising lawyer, trying to find my groggy feet. He became my bossom friend and elder brother.

My journey from Isele-Mkpitime, through Asaba, to Port-Harcourt, told me clearly that the entire Igbo land is locked down in a physical, psychological and mental siege, reminiscent of a civil war time.

When the Civil War ended January 15, 1970, the then military ruler, General “Jack” Yakubu Gowon, who became Head of State, at 31 and a bachelor, proclaimed the three Rs: “Reconciliation, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation”, which heralded his policy of “No Victor, No Vanquished”. This was after the unfortunate failure of the 4th-5th January, 1967, of the “Aburi Accord”, that would have prevented the bloody war in which over 2 million civilians and 100, 000 military combatants were killed. Or, was it an historical mistake that these people who had already manufactured “Ogbunigwe” (series of weapons, that included detonation mines, IED, and rocket propelled missiles), with which they prosecuted the Nigeria – Biafra war between 1967 and 1970, were prevented from leaving Nigeria? Perhaps, we would today have had a Japan, Singapore or South Korea lying side by side a sprawling “giant of Africa” on clay legs.

These policies were meant to quickly heal the gaping wounds of the gruesome blood-letting, forget the horrors and evils of the fratricidal war and quickly reintegrate the Igbos into the society.

But, have these hardworking, gregarious “Jews” of Nigeria been reconciled, rehabilitated and reintegrated into the mainstream of the Nigerian society? I doubt it. Simple proof: show me any Igbo man in today’s all powerful cabal kitchen cabinet of PMB’s Government. My journey from Isele-Mkpitime, Delta State, through Asaba, Onitsha, Oba, Oraifite, Okija, Ihiala, Mgbidi, Awomama, Owerri, Aba to Port-Harcourt, was a strangulating reminder that the Igbos, inspite of their unquantifiable contributions to the commerce, industry and innovations that drive the non-oil sector of the Nigerian economy and give it oxygen, are nearly a conquered people. The check-points along the above stretch of road are nauseating and asphyxiating, as the security agencies, including para-military ones out-do each other to harass, torment, search, intimidate and extort money from travelers.

Earlier journeys by road (I travel a lot on professional duties), had shown me the same siege through countless roadblocks: Enugu, through the Ugwogo Nike-Opi-Nsukka Road; Amansea in Awka-Ugwuoba Oji River; Nnewi, Alor, Ekwulobia, Amesi, Ugar, Umuchu; Okigwe, Awgu and Ituku Ozalla, Umuahia and Isiala-Ngwa, on Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway. On the Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene highway, you have exasperating road blocks at Michael Okpara University junction; Isingwu-Nkweogwu junction of the Isuikwuato-Uzuakoli-Ajayi-Igbere road; and the 14 Brigade Army barracks junction at the Ohafia-Arochukwu highway.

As you are crossing one check point, a mere look ahead of you, of less than half a kilometer, will reveal another barricade. It is all so frustrating. There is no war, or security breach. South East is not North East where Boko Haram still calls the shots (forget about Government’s pet words of “we have degraded Boko Haram”; Boko Haram is still very potent, controlling large areas, killing and maiming people on a daily basis. Their representative said that much at the 2nd May, 2017, Re-Union meeting of the 2014 National Conference delegates at Daar Communications Centre, Abuja, where I delivered the keynote address).

Yet, in this Boko Haram-ravaged region, you would not find this armada of security, treating the entire geo-political zone made up of five states (the least in Nigeria; some others have seven states), like a conquered territory.

It is only the recent suit by my good friend, Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, (six of us founded the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) – the first human rights body in Nigeria-on 15th October, 1987), over “marginalisation of the South East region”, that has perhaps brought to the front burner, these disturbing tons of injustice. That is why no one can ignore Nnamdi Kanu and his IPOB, Ralph Uwazurike’s MASSOB, etc, agitating for self –determination, a right sanctioned and recognised even by the UNO.

These fully armed and trigger-happy security personnel have never taken steps to protect the Igbo race, against rampaging Fulani Herdsmen that raid their homes, to maim, kill and rape their wives (remember Nimbo in Uzo Uwani LGA in Enugu State). They have never repelled the incessant reign of terror by armed robbers, kidnappers, hired assassins and murderers. No, they are stationed there for three main reasons: (1) check the bid for self determination by the Igbos; (2) extort money from the wealthy and poor Igbo traders who ply these routes; (3) remind the Igbos that the all powerful Federal Government is on ground to silence the people and force them to toe their ruling party line. Wait a minute; is that why some prominent Igbos, including erstwhile leaders, members of the BOT and two-time Governors for eight years under PDP, have been outdoing each other to decamp to a non-performing and fundamentally flawed party like the APC? Let me end this piece by recommending to the Ndigbos, the legendary Hubert Ogunde’s immortal words, in his most famous 1964 play, “Yoruba Ronu” (“Yorubas, think”), a stinging satire that got his theatre company banned, which ban was later lifted in 1966, by the new military Governor.

Ndigbos, cheenu echiche (Igbos, think).
