Unmasking the hoax behind the viral message urging Ndigbo to promote the BBC-Igbo service

"A few months ago, a message was seen circulating on the social media, urging Ndigbo to promote the Igbo service of the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC-Igbo, obviously because of the poor patronage it has experienced. However, the low patronage which the BBC-Igbo is experiencing, is well-deserved. The Igbos boycotted the service because they perfectly understand that it is not in their genuine interest."

For your information, BBC Igbo service was launched several months ago, roundabout the first quarter of the year and so it isn't a new development.

Firstly, no one begged or is begging the BBC to run the Igbo service, so it's only running its business as usual and certainly not genuinely for the benefit of Ndigbo.

Secondly, do you know that BBC Hausa service had been in existence for several decades? Why didn't the BBC launch the Igbo service all along? Instead, it waited till it realized that Ndigbo are now more than ever serious with their clamour for Biafra before it came up with this Greek gift cloaked in BBC Igbo service.

Thirdly, are you aware that BBC Hausa is domiciled in the north (Hausa area), BBC Yoruba domiciled in the west (Yoruba area)? So why did the British Broadcasting Corporation situate the BBC-Igbo yet in the western region (Yoruba speaking region) instead of the East (Igbo heartland or other parts of Biafraland)? It's only the gullible ones that will fail to see clearly, the continued evil machinations of the British mouthpiece (the BBC). The BBC is well aware that the decision to establish BBC Igbo has a malicious intent and so it chose to establish it outside the Igbo heartland because it believes there could be a possibility of an uproar or reprisal by angry Igbo or other Biafran youths, when it generates and dishes out its characteristic false and anti-Igbo propaganda.

Fourthly, are we now to be promoting the British mouthpiece with our own resources simply because out of the blues, it pretends to promote the Igbo language when with our ingenuity, finesse and dynamism, we can establish ours, fund and support it to become an unparalleled, world-class media outfit? For your information, Radio Biafra London and Biafra TV has been running and expanding for several years now and certainly, doing a marvellous job as the mouthpiece of the Igbos and the entire Biafran populace. The most honourable thing to do will be to fund and support our own, instead of promoting a heavily biased colonial media edifice with a track record of hatred for Ndigbo and which has long been an effective tool for Igbo subjugation, simply because they pretentiously claim to promote the Igbo language.

For your information, the BBC can be viciously smart. They understand how patriotic the Igbo man can be when it comes to anything Igbo, how Ndigbo are ready to support or promote anything that possesses an Igbo theme. They're also aware of the amount of popularity that Radio Biafra London has gained in the past few years, especially when it was being anchored by the Biafran leader, Nnamdi Kanu, when on multiple occasions, it trended as the most popular or the most listened-to Radio Station in the world, because majority of Biafrans and other well-meaning people around the world listened to and supported it as it's our own. Even search engines such as Google had "Radio Biafra" as one of the most-searched terms. Therefore, the BBC is at its gimmicks once again, trying to capitalize on the sentimentality of Ndigbo to generate cyber traffic for the heavily biased British mouthpiece.

Even the good people of Britain are not left out in the knowledge that the British state media - the BBC, is heavily biased and therefore lacks credibility. As a result, a good majority of the British people recently stormed the cyberspace, to protest the state media's bias, fake, unbalanced reportage and distortion of facts with the hashtag #BbcSwitchOff.

In conclusion, it would be a cause for concern and a failure on the part of Ndigbo to rely on the notorious and heavily biased BBC to promote the Igbo language for Ndigbo. If the BBC is so genuinely concerned about the well-being of Ndigbo, why did it not establish BBC Igbo in Igbo heartland or other parts of Biafraland? Also, recall that it was the BBC that generated and promoted the malicious and vindictive drug abuse propaganda that eventually resulted in the unfair shutdown of an Igbo business establishment – Emzor pharmaceuticals company.

The USA has VOA and other media outfits as its own mouthpiece, Arab nations have Aljazeera as their mouthpiece, the French have France24, the Chinese have CCTVNews and so do so many others. Therefore, why should Ndigbo rely on the BBC to be their mouthpiece when they are more than capable to establish and run a powerful and matchless media infrastructure? Have we now become so incapacitated that we rely on the same tool of our misery and destruction to speak for us?

We sincerely thank the BBC for its kindness and for offering to help promote the Igbo language. However, if the BBC is so kind, it should concern itself with teaching Ndigbo “how to fish” instead of just giving us fish. What Ndigbo want is an independent Biafran nation and not some ‘language-promotion service’ by BBC Igbo service.

Radio Biafra and Biafra TV is ours and is already doing a great job, we can make them more powerful and so won't need someone else to tell our stories for us.

Biafra: BBC Igbo Service, A Greek Gift From The British

The origin of the Greek gift otherwise known as the "Trojan horse" is a legendary event that took place during the Trojan war. During this period, the Greeks sought for an access route to the city of Troy and they came up with a trick. The Greeks, therefore, pretended to have abandoned the war and left the Trojan horse behind at the entrance of the city of Troy which appears to the inhabitants of Troy to have been an offering for their gods by the Greeks.

The Trojan horse itself was actually a trap loaded with arms and brave Greek soldiers; it was massively built to accomodate many of the brave warriors who were ready to attack the city right from within, if eventually it was taken inside the city. Fortunately, to the people of Troy, a Trojan priest saw the horse and understood its significance, so he cried out: "Do not trust the Greeks, even if they left us a gift."

However, the people refused to heed to the warnings of the priest and proceeded to take the Trojan horse right inside the heart of the city and kept it before their gods without the slightest knowledge that it was actually a ploy by the Greeks to have access to the city of Troy and destroy them from within.

Therefore, by the time the inhabitants of Troy realised what was going on, their city fell under attack and was overrun by the Greek soldiers whom were hiding inside the Trojan horse. The Greek soldiers hiding inside the Trojan horse, were even the ones who opened gates for their compatriots who were battle-ready, waiting outside the city. And that was how the city of Troy was completely destroyed.

The moral lessons to be learnt from this story is simply teaching us never to trust a person who has been our enemy for so long, even if he/she has recently shown a change of behavior. In order to be on the safer side, do not accept his/her sudden show of care and concern towards you because there must have been something sinister about the sudden change.

Biafrans, this recent launching of BBC IGBO SERVICE by the British is a Trojan horse and must be seen as such, we need to trade with caution when dealing with the British, for they never meant well for us.

The British devoted their media outfit popularly knows as 'British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC)', to fight the Biafrans before and after the civil war and has continued to be a tool of oppression and subjugation against the Biafrans till date.

Just like the Trojan priest warned the inhabitants of Troy in those days to beware of Greek gift, Radio Biafra London and Biafra Writers is therefore sounding this gong of warning for our people to trade with caution. Because this latest move by the British has something sinister about it and must not be taken into our hearts in order to be on a safer side.

Recall that during the incarceration and detention of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in a Nigerian prison at Kuje, Abuja, there was a lot of speculations from many quarters that the only solution to quell the rising agitation in the Southeast by Biafrans is to give them an Igbo president as if that was what brought about the agitation. However, when they discovered that the agitation was not all about Igbo presidency, but total freedom for Biafrans from subjugation and oppression in Nigeria, the topic was changed to 'restructuring' which they are now using as a bait to contine to entrap unsuspecting Biafrans inside the damn British contraption known as Nigeria.

Now that Biafrans are preparing for a referendum vote to determine whether to continue staying in Nigeria or not, the British whom were the chief benefactor of the business enterprise called Nigeria, came up with this gesture by trying to show us love and care after using the same media platform to propagate evil and hate against us which resulted in the loss of over 2.5 million Biafrans during their conspired war of blockade and starvation.

It was the same British through BBC who ensured that men and women of goodwill do not come to know about the real stories concerning the genocide perpetrated against the Biafrans during the Nigeria-Biafra war which they fully sponsored, rather they, through the BBC, told the international community that what was going-on in Biafra was a mere fight between rebels and the Nigerian military government while genocide was being committed with the intention of annihiliating Biafrans from the surface of the earth out the face of the earth for them to have unrestricted access to our God-given mineral resources.

Fellow Biafrans, we must remain focused at this point in time which is the most important time in the struggle for the restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra and must not allow the British who only cares about the crude oil in your land more than your lives.

Thr bottom line is that the sudden but belated launching of the BBC Igbo service is a Greek gift otherwise known as Trojan horse.

Biafra: IPOB tackles CNN, BBC others over herdsmen killings

The Indigenous People of Biafra on Wednesday accused the British Broadcasting Corporation, Cable Network News, Al Jazeera and other foreign media of conspiracy of silence in the reportage of killings by herdsmen in most Nigerian communities.

In a statement in Awka, Anambra State by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group said the under reportage of the killings was part of the international conspiracy to subdue non-Muslims.

It said, “The killing of the innocent has become the norm under this present All Progressives Congress government led by Major General Muhammadu Buhari.

“More shocking is the fact that world media like CNN, FOX, BBC, Al Jazeera, NBC, ABC etc have remained conspiratorially silent on these horror shows played out in predominantly Christian towns and villages; probably because those being killed are not Muslims.

“We are bombarded daily with news about the suffering of Rohingya people and threats of economic and military sanctions against Myanmar but something far more sinister is happening in Nigeria and especially in Biafraland with no iota of coverage from leading media houses around the world because those being killed in Nigeria are non-Muslims. Only when Muslim populations are affected do we see international condemnations and sanctions.”

While condemning the recent killings in Rivers and Benue states, the group wondered why the Federal Government was reluctant to deploy soldiers in Benue, Taraba and Kaduna states where herdsmen had killed scores of people.

The group’s statement read in part, “It is troubling that the Nigerian Army in collaboration with a few disgruntled and unscrupulous politicians in Rivers State and other parts of Biafraland, have taken it as a duty to expose our people, mostly our youths, to danger and unwarranted death, since the inception of this APC government led by Major General Muhammadu Buhari.

“Primarily, the recent humiliation, killings and the level of massacre going on in Igweocha (Rivers State) is politically-motivated and orchestrated by the Nigerian government and her security operatives especially the Army, Police and the DSS, to depopulate the region of vibrant youths, the only group that is capable of checkmating marauding Fulani herdsmen.

“We are still wondering why the Nigerian government could not send soldiers to the aid of its citizens in Benue, Taraba, Kaduna and other states where Fulani herdsmen are rampaging and massacring innocent citizens with impunity.

“We are certain that Aso Rock merely ordered the IG of Police to relocate the police headquarters in Abuja to Benue to provide cover for these murderous Fulani herdsmen and help them consolidate their hold on new territories they are now occupying.

“If the Nigerian government and her security agencies are sincere about tackling the menace of murderous Fulani herdsmen, they must also deploy their soldiers in Benue and Taraba states with the same shoot on sight order they readily apply against peaceful Biafran agitators.

“The world must wake up to the threat that Fulani terror herdsmen represent before it’s too late.”

BIAFRA: THE MEANING OF “OHANAEZE NDI IGBO” AND THE TRUE OHANAEZE

From time immemorial, the Igbo people of Biafra are free people, democratic as well as Republican in nature even before the invasion of the British government. The Igbo Biafrans as a way of ruling themselves gather in a town hall meeting and select among them some elders and youths who will be their leaders and representatives in the communities, the selected leader(s) must have the interest of the people at heart, be outspoken, fearless, have good knowledge of the law of the land and be of good reputation.

In Igbo language, the people (masses) who gathered and selected their leader(s) are called “OHA” while the leaders who are selected by the people are called “EZE”, the “NA” between the two words is a conjunction in the form of “AND” in English language. Putting the three words together, we have “OHANAEZE”.

OHANAEZE NDI IGBO is a five (5) words in Igbo language, it means; the people (masses) and the king(s) (the peoples elect) of Igbo land. The elected leaders must have a way of communicating with their people, know their grievances and address it without compromising their trust. If the elected fail to deliver or compromise the trust of the people (masses), the people will revolt and have them/him removed.

As a matter of fact, no individual or group of people has the right to super impose themselves on the masses as their leader(s) and claim to represent them anywhere. Those who called themselves OHANAEZE NDI IGBO are nothing but organized fraudsters, defrauding Nigerian government and some international bodies whom they have presented themselves as the leaders and representatives of the Igbo Biafrans.

These men are greedy and selfish; they speak for their pocket alone, they do not even care about the welfare of the marginalized and subjugated poor masses of the Igbo Biafrans. They are only interested in what they can gain that is the reason why they form fake Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo everywhere; Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in Lagos, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in Kaduna, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in Maleshia, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in China. They do this to defraud people who think they are Igbo leaders. Pathetic!

It will surprise those who have fallen victim to these OHANAEZE NDI IGBO fraudsters to know that these men were not elected by the Igbos to lead or represent them, the Igbos do not even know them and so they cannot speak for them. It is unfortunate that this fake Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo have been defrauding countries and group for many years without anyone calling them to order.

Over the years, the Igbo Biafrans have overlooked the fraudulent activities of this self acclaimed Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo because the average Igbo person cares more about buying and selling than matters that will not put money in the pocket. But there is always a time to put the record straight and that time is now.

The Indigenous People Biafra IPOB of Igbo extraction is the true “OHA”, and they have joined hands with Biafrans from Izon, Itsekiri, Ibibio, Kalabari, Efik, Igala, and other clans of Biafra land and said; Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is the only EZE they know; only he can speak for them, only him they will obey.

Therefore any group or government speaking with the fake Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo on matters concerning the Igbo people and Biafrans at large, is dealing with fraudsters and will get a negative result. The people have chosen Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who is learned, fearless, outspoken, a man who knows the heartbeat of the poor masses and already addressing their need without fear or favor to lead them. Mazi Nnamdi Knau has been tested, pruned and proven that he can lead Biafrans into total freedom from the hell called Nigeria. IPOB shall obey his command to the later.

The Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB which is the real OHANAEZE NDI-IGBO have mandated everybody to boycott every election organized by Nigerian government in Biafra land until a date for Biafra Referendum is officially announced and as such, every Biafran is expected to disregard any news attributed to those fake and fraudulent self centered money conscious people that parades themselves as the OHANAEZE NDI-IGBO.

Biafra: Biafra, Democracy Day dominate Google search

Nigerians took to Google during the week to know more about Biafra and the history of democracy in Africa’s most populous nation.

Google’s Spokesman Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade made the announcement in Lagos on Thursday. Kola-Ogunlade, who is Google’s Communications and Public Affairs Manager for Anglophone West Africa, said the searches were apparently to know more about Biafra.

Some groups observed a sit-at-home protest on May 30, to commemorate the 50th anniversary since the Biafra uprising ended. Kola-Ogunlade said that Nigerians searched for Democracy Day, Biafra News, Biafra Day, Tiger Woods, Ernesto Valverde and Paul Pogba in the search engine.

According to him, a group, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has rejected May 29 as Nigeria’s Democracy Day, describing it as fraudulent, unrealistic and escapist. “The group asked the Federal Government to declare June 12 as Democracy Day instead. “May 29 was chosen by the last military regime of Gen. Abdul Salaam Abubakar.

“Nigerian researched more on the topic on Google search using the terms: ‘when is democracy day in Nigeria.’ The spokesman said that Nigerians also searched for: “why do we celebrate democracy day in Nigeria. “History of democracy day in Nigeria and democracy day 2017”.

The searches commenced on May 25 and ended on May 31. Kola-Ogunlade said there was total shutdown in Nigeria’s South East on May 30, following the Indigenous People of Biafra’s sit-at-home order. He said that the order was to mark the 50th anniversary of the declaration of the defunct Republic of Biafra and also to honour heroes and heroines of the liberation struggle.

The Google chief said that the sit-at-home order was totally complied with in the five states in the South East. Kola-Ogunlade explained that people searched Google using terms such as ‘Biafra news today’, ‘Biafra latest news’, ‘radio Biafra news’ and ‘radio Biafra’.

The spokesman said that Golf superstar, Tiger Woods’ arrest and charge for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) by the police in Florida on May 29 also trended on Google. He said that the former golf world number one had to deal with a fresh blow as he struggled to resurrect his career.

“Nigerians went on Google to search for ‘Tiger Woods net worth’, ‘Tiger Woods arrested’, ‘Tiger Woods news’, ‘DUI’ and ‘Serena Williams’. The Google chief said that Barcelona FC President, Josep Bartomeu, on May 29 officially confirmed the appointment of Ernesto Valverde as the club’s new head coach, replacing Luis Enrique. Kola-Ogunlade said that sports fanatics Googled ‘Ernesto Valverde profile’, ‘Barcelona’, ‘Who is Ernesto Valverde’ and ‘Barcelona new coach.’

He also said that Paul Pogba’s visit to Mecca to give thanks for a good season trended on Google. “Paul Pogba visited Islam’s holiest city, Mecca this week to pray and offer his appreciation for a successful season with Manchester United and to mark the beginning of Ramadan. “Nigerians visited Google to search ‘Paul Pogba religion’, ‘Is Paul pogba a Muslim’, ‘Paul Pogba profile’ and ‘Paul Pogba biography’,” Kola-Ogunlade said.

Google Trends launched in May, 2006, allows one to see how popular search terms and their demography have been overtime on the search engine.

After spending more than a year-and-a-half in a Nigerian jail without trial on treason charges, Nnamdi Kanu is now free on bail. The BBC's Stephanie Hegarty explains who Nwannekaenyi "Nnamdi" Kanu is and why he attracts so much controversy

Nnamdi Kanu founded the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) in 2014.
The movement wants a group of states in southeast Nigeria, made up mainly of people from the Igbo ethnic group, to break away and form the independent nation of Biafra.

The plan is not new. In 1967 Igbo leaders declared a Biafran state, but after a brutal civil war, which led to the deaths of up to a million people, the secessionist rebellion was defeated.

But the idea of separatism has bubbled away since then and Mr. Kanu is the latest in a line of Biafran activists taking up the cause.

He was a relatively obscure figure until 2009 when he started Radio Biafra, a station that called for an independent state for the Igbo people and broadcast to Nigeria from London.

Though he grew up in Nigeria's southeast and went to the University of Nsukka, Mr. Kanu moved to the UK before graduating.
Soon after setting up IPOB, he spoke to gatherings of the large Igbo diaspora, calling for Biafran independence. In some of his comments, he urged Biafrans to take up arms against the Nigerian state.

"We need guns and we need bullets," he said in one such address.
And that is what brought him to the attention of Nigeria's security services.

'Frivolous'

However, IPOB spokeswoman Amarachi Chimeremeze told the BBC this was not a literal call to arms: "That was a metaphor, to tell the people we are going to fight for this." If his trial, currently due to begin in July, does actually get underway, that is the question the judge will have to rule on.

In October 2015, soon after arriving in Nigeria for a visit, he was arrested in his Lagos hotel. He was charged with "criminal conspiracy, intimidation, and membership of an illegal organization" - charges that could amount to treason.
His lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, told the BBC that the charges were "frivolous".
"They were concocted to ensure his detention in prison. These are smoke-screen charges that will never see the light of day."

Since his arrest, groups of IPOB supporters have gathered in protest around Nigeria and the movement has gained momentum.

They believe that the British vote to leave the European Union and Donald Trump's election in the US are evidence of growing international support for the "right to self-determination" which they espouse.

Some have said they are now seeking "Biafrexit".
Organized pro-Biafran protests have almost always been broken up by police, with IPOB saying their followers were injured or even killed, something the authorities vehemently deny.
But the violence has led to increased publicity and Cheta 
Nwanze, a political analyst who has done extensive research on the pro-Biafra movement, says Mr Kanu's "arrest was a mistake because it played into his hands".

"When the 2015 election happened, there was a slowdown in the popularity of his radio station and that's when he decided to come to Nigeria to get arrested."

Was it a mistake to arrest Nnamdi Kanu?
Mr. Nwanze believes Mr. Kanu is an opportunist and points to a video of him speaking at an anti-Boko Haram rally in London just months before he set up IPOB, where he spoke about the need to protect Nigeria from breaking apart.

But the IPOB spokeswoman disputes this. She says Mr. Kanu simply went to Nigeria to show his commitment to the struggle.
"He came to prove to them that he meant everything that he said. The Nigerian administration was acting as if according to a script and arrested him," Ms. Chimeremeze told the BBC.

'Lost tribe of Israel'

Putting his separatist ambitions aside, human rights groups and some senior politicians have been calling for Mr. Kanu's release, arguing that his many months of detention without trial was unlawful.

As is common with the Nigerian legal system, the case has been plagued by delays. After a year-and-a-half, no significant progress has been made.

The government ignored several court orders calling for Mr. Kanu's bail before bowing to a court order last week, and granting it "on medical grounds".

But the bail conditions are harsh: The IPOB leader is banned from public speaking, granting interviews or being in a group of more than 10 people.

As a condition of that bail, Mr Kanu had to bring a prominent Igbo leader, a wealthy resident of Abuja and a senior Nigerian Jewish leader to provide 100m naira ($260,000; £200,000) each as surety to the court.

The IPOB leader says he is an Igbo Jew, part of a group who believe they are descendants of the lost tribe of Israel who settled in West Africa.

It is hard to judge the real strength of a movement like Ipob and its leader.
While the misery of the Biafran war put an end to the separatist ambitions of many Biafrans, a lot of Igbo people still feel that they are not fairly treated in Nigeria.

And some argue that President Muhammadu Buhari is doing little to help that. After all, he was a soldier in the army that defeated the separatists in 1970.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, on the other hand, was recently celebrated for opening a conversation on what happened during the Biafran war.

What happens to Mr Kanu and Ipob next is not clear.

The movement may go the way of Massob (Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra), an earlier separatist movement. Massob lost some of its influence after its leader was jailed in 2005 and released two years later.

This year marks 50 years since the Biafran war began.
What the interest in Mr Kanu and his movement shows more than anything else is Nigeria's 50-year failure to put the idea of Igbo separatism to rest.

I consider it an error of colossal proportion for a learned diplomat of Paul T. Arkwright standard to travel all the way to Nigeria from UK and gather the effrontery to declare publicly the British support of the indivisibility of their business enterprise called 'Nigeria'.

We the Biafran people are not surprised to hear this from a representative of the world's most corrupt country on earth, Britain. In the same vain, we Biafrans want to put it straight to you that it is game over for you and the British empire. It is strongly advised that Mr. Arkwright give feedback to the British government that sent him to vomit the rubbish, that the dissolution of Nigeria which happens to be their business enterprise and the restoration of Biafra nation is a task that must be done by this present movement spearheaded by the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) just in a matter of time!

Mr. Paul Thomas Arkwright, let me take your mind down the memory lane; there is a multilateral treaty called 'THE INTERNATIONAL COVENANT ON CIVIL and POLITICAL RIGHT (ICCPR)' which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 16, 1966.

Part one (Article 1) of that treaty recognizes the right of "all peoples to self-determination which also include such people's right to freely determine their political status, pursue their economic, social and cultural goals, and as well manage and dispose of their own resources."

You made your public blunder of all times in a gathering in Kogi State of Nigeria in pretense that you are not aware of this international law which your country United kingdom and Nigeria are signatory to.

I hope you also remember one fateful Thursday June 23, 2016, a day that appears as if the whole world came crashing down on you, on David Cameron and on all the British council when the British people exercised their rights to self-determination  by voting in a referendum to leave the European Union.

The Scottish people also exercised such rights in the popular 'Scottish Independence Referendum Act 2013' and many other countries around the world since the inception of that law including Southern Sudan here in Africa.

So far as that international law has not stated that the Indigenous people of Biafra has no place in it, we the Biafran people has every right to determine how we will rule ourselves and manage our resources no matter how hard you try to bribe the whole world not to sympathize with us and help us achieve freedom.

We are also aware of Gibraltar and Malta, the perceived routes for laundering of your stolen money from Africa especially in Biafra land and since you don't want to let go of the Biafran people from your evil contraption called Nigeria, we want to reiterate that we the Indigenous People of Biafra are also hellbent on sinking that evil empire of yours with the TRUTH and afterwards, Biafra must be restored.

BIAFRA: BRITAIN'S FIRM GRIP ON NIGERIA AND THE FALSEHOOD OF INDEPENDENCE

If there is anything that has eluded Nigeria for so long, it is the inability to run her own internal affairs without dancing to the tune of No.10 downing street in London. While other States of Africa hitherto colonised by Britain have taken off by deciding their fate, Nigeria is still under the heavy spell of Britain. Their so-called leaders are merely occupying the corridors of power while acting the scripts written and given to them by Britain their colonialist. The British empire tells them who to kill, how to loot national treasury and stash them in their banks, aid and abet them in committing other heinous crimes and then assure them of their protection from prosecution.

While the likes of Ghana and other Anglophobian former colonies of Britain have taken disengagement steps from Britain, in which they are point of reference today as jewels of Africa, the case of Nigeria is obviously different as she is just a sinking ship with no direction. This is mainly due to her inability to organically evolve her socio-political philosophy without the British overshadowing the whole process. While Britain is involve, she sings the old Anglo hymn of “kill Biafrans and never allow them to near the presidency”, on the other hand the Hausa/Fulanis are well tutored on how to maintain the tempo and act it perfectly to the peril of the contraption.

Today, events are unfolding as various entities that were forced into Nigeria are dying and seeking the exit route. While the same episode is unfolding in Britain with Scotland and Northern Ireland seeking to opt out of Britain without being invaded or killed by the military, Biafrans are being killed by Nigeria under the supervision of Britain. The use of excessive force as an acceptable method here in quelling the Biafra question is good for the black man, while referendum is suitable for only the white man.

To say that cohabitating with Hausa/Fulanis is a very big risk is an understatement. If there is any threat to African peace, it is the Hausa/Fulani clan as they are used as British mercenaries and commissioned for carnage against the black race. Britain understands the usefulness of Hausa/Fulani barbarism and has strategically positioned them in governance having known how mentally demented they are. Today, they are on rampage with impunity as mandated by the British.

Britain, poised with the knowledge of the impediment in having different military bases in Africa, cunningly chose to have irregular combatants in the person of the Hausa/Fulani people. While the royal armies in white skin are nowhere to be found stationed in Africa, the royal armies in black skin (Fulani mercenaries) are flooded all over the place with the traditional aim of suppressing the indigenous peoples and taking over their lands.

We all know how cunning and evil the British empire is, we also know they still have a strong grip on Nigeria. They are not only culpable in the creation of the world most deadliest terrorist sect called Boko Haram, but adequately funded them to help unseat the former Nigerian President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. The episodes was well scripted and played with the help of who-is-who in Nigeria, including the incumbent president. Having wrestled power from Jonathan, Britain has re-christened Boko Haram to herdsmen to continue their second mission of “crushing” the Biafran people.

The enlisting of Boko Haram as a terrorist group by the US despite British opposition led to the paradigm shift and re-baptizing them to herdsmen. Today, the same Boko Haram who disguises as herdsmen are ravaging the entire Biafraland with the help of Nigerian security outfits. When killed or repelled, their brothers in military uniforms will officially terrorise the villagers as they are presently doing in Ile Ife, Umuobasiukwu community in Bende local government of Abia state and other regions in the country.

What Britain fails to understand is that Biafrans are set of peculiar people who perfects anything they lay hands on. That we are on pacifism does not in any way connote cowardice as those who fought from 1967-1970 are still our progenitors. The day Biafrans will choose to pick up arms will be the day humanity is destroyed as it will also have ripple effect in not only Aftica, but the entire world. The earlier Britain realises that Biafra's fate is worth deciding via referendum like Scotland and Northern Ireland, the better for humanity.

Like everything that has a beginning that must surely come to an end, the curtain will definitely be drawn on the first ever Biafran Genocide Exhibition that is currently taking place at the famous Biafran embassy in Vitoria, Spain few hours from now. However, today's outing which is the grand finale of the 3-day event that started since Friday 10th March, 2017 promises to be the "mother of all exhibitions."

During the event yesterday, we saw a carnival like exhibitions of "near perfection of pictures" of the genocide that was committed against Biafra by the Nigerian and British governments. The pictures on display showed all manner of atrocities visited on our people which includes those of starving Biafran children as well as dying mothers who couldnt bear the sight of seeing their infant babies starved to death; not forgetting those depicting the mass murders that took place on "soft targets" by Fighter Jets flown by Egyptian mercenary pilots.

Yesterday equally provided a rare opportunity for Biafrans in disapora who make up the larger percentage of the Biafrans attending the exhibitions to draw closer to "home" as most of them in several years were opportuned to enjoy a masquerade outing as yesterday was the "traditional day" of the event.

When Biafra Writers contacted the Head of Directorate of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Uchenna Asiegbu  whose office is coordinating the maiden event on the impact of the exhibition and whether he believes that the aim(s) of organising such an exhibition has been achieved, he had this to say "for these 3 days, we have spoken to the world and the world has heard us clearly. The good news is that we did not just speak with words, we spoke with pictures. And you know a picture is worth a thousand words. He did not only make history with the exhibition but set the pace for others to follow."

When asked what he thinks of the current move by the British and Nigerian government to rewrite history by claiming that the said genocide never happened, Mazi Asigebu had this to say "Even the doubting Thomases saw both the visual and video evidences that a clear case of premeditated genocide was visited on our people. Take note also that we equally exhibited video evidences of the genocide during these 3 day event. In fact, every material that proves the case of the genocide was on exhibition. I can categorically assure you that the impact of this exhibition will linger for generations. I can assure you that our children will read and study about it. They will definitely talk about it for centuries to come."

On his advice to the young generation of  who have been denied the opportunity of knowing their history due to the Nigerian government's well articulated decision to remove history as a subject of study in all Nigerian schools, the HODS asked the youths to join hands with the IPOB leadership to restore Biafra, promising that in the new Biafra history will be made compulsory to Pre-University level.

On the diplomatic level, when asked what diplomatic impact the exhibition has made on the struggle, he had this to say "A lot has been achieved diplomatically in these 3 days but i dont want to let the cat out of the bag yet as further consultations needed to be done before we can cement some of the diplomatic ties that were negotiated before and during this event"

Biafrans have since ages past till date, suffered from British conspiracy against her and this can be attributed to their media (BBC) mispresentation and misinformation. The British thrive on resources siphoned from Biafra land, while portraying and presenting Biafrans to the world as species that must be carefully watched like a hawk; whereas the earthquaking lootings and crudities of unimaginable proportion are all perpetrated by the Hausa/Fulanis with the support of Britain.

For instance, the high profile records of looting and criminalities against the Nigerian state treasury are all carried out by either the Hausa-Fulanis or their Yoruba co-conspirators; and worst still, these monies are always laundered into Britain ( the case of Umar Dikko), But Britain will choose to falsely accuse Biafrans as the guilty party simply because Biafrans refused to be conquered and be made slaves and subservient to them like the Hausa/Fulanis.

They make the world believe that their slaves, the Hausa-Fulanis are the saints while Biafrans are the sinners within their estate (Nigeria). But today, that demonic narration is meeting its dead end as Biafrans has decided to take back their destiny, by telling their stories unadulterated in their unique manner, while dismantling the mainstream media with their lies.

The British hatred towards Biafrans which runs in her DNA is traceable to history. The inability of Britain to let historical events go by and flow with the livestyles of Biafran people has sunk her into "Biafra-phobia" thereby staining her hands with the blood of millions of innocent Biafrans.

Historically, the British contact with the riverine Biafrans led to a glossy and rosy relationship that the parties were “trading” and contacting until the Anglo nation decided to abuse the kind gesture and goodwill of the precolonial indigenous Biafrans.

For instance, in Akassa, in the 19th century, the British aim to monopolize the trade was rebuffed by the Akassa people which led to the Akassa War. The historical defeat Britain recorded in that war is still indelible in the heart of Britain and it is an history that the British government is not proud of.

Subsequently, the cowardly Britain decided to try the Igbo Biafrans in 1929 through taxation and was repelled by the women of Biafra, which led to the famous Aba Women's war. The coming of the independence saw Britain's evil imposition of illiterate and backward Hausa/Fulanis on Biafrans just for the continuation of their neocolonialistic agenda.

The resources of Biafrans were shared by these British proxies and protégés. The demand by Biafrans for equal right via self determination was replied with excessive use of force as was seen in the various air raid of Biafraland during the civil war. Like our fore fathers, the raids and oppressions have made us more united and committed to the challenges ahead.

Biafrans are peace loving people that value human lives, but do not accept subjugation and servitude of any kind. Though we have noticed the infiltration of illegitimate people with mixed blood in our land due to the high level of rapes our women recorded during the genocidal war, but nevertheless, the likes of Nnamdi Kanu has proven to Biafrans and the world that the undiluted blood of our ancestors still flows deeply in the veins of many alive today.

The worst decision the Nigerian government will make is to draw another battle line with Biafrans. She must understand that Biafrans are ready to drop their last blood in defence of our holy nation, Biafra. We say enough of is enough, Biafra is our heritage and IPOB is here to take it back by any means possible; it is now left for Nigeria to decide how they want this facade cum marriage of inconvenience to end.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has strongly condemned the continued denial of the killing of pro-Biafra agitators by the Nigerian government, military and other security agencies.

The Nigerian Army had earlier debunked claims by Amnesty International that its men killed over 150 pro-Biafran protesters, stating that the allegation is an “outright attempt to tarnish the reputation of the security forces in general and the Nigerian Army in particular, for whatever inexplicable parochial reasons.”

However, IPOB said that their denial means that the entire defence staff of the Nigerian Army “need eye glasses to see the barbaric crimes committed by the Nigerian soldiers against the members of IPOB throughout the period of peaceful demonstrations in Biafraland”.

In a statement issued by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, IPOB called on world leaders to visit YouTube and watch the heinous crimes perpetrated by the Nigerian government and her security agencies against unarmed and peaceful IPOB members during rallies and demonstrations in Aba, Onitsha, Owerri, Igweocha (PH), Calaba, Uyo, Asaba, Enugu, Bayelsa and other numerous cities in Biafraland.

It further stated that amidst myriads of video and pictorial evidences exposing their crimes, it is unfortunate and shameful that they could still muster courage in utter denial instead of launching a full-scale investigation into the matter, adding that they responses and reactions has further revealed the veracity of the report.

The statement reads; “The Nigerian Defence Headquarters should have asked for the video coverage from the media companies both international and local media outfits in the world, after watching the videos from all corners of Biafra if they are still doubting the killings then you should understand that they are not a well organised institutions and anybody still doubting or asking questions about this crimes committed by the Nigerian army against defenceless peaceful civilians, then that person needs to be under medical care for madness.

“We IPOB, suggest the defence head quarters of the Nigerian army and presidency to watch the video again before coming out to make a mockery of themselves and the entire Nigeria,” it concluded.

History is in the making, and I quite agree with Theresa May that “there is change in the air.’’ Whatever is her source of information that led to her assertion, I am carefree to know, but I strongly agree with her that indeed “there is a change in the air”. Any one at her political level as a British Prime Minister, privy to information as regards the unholy alliance against Biafrans and the sudden change of event that followed the conspiracy, will reverberate as she did.

She was briefed as protocol demands of the alliance that exist between Saudi Arabia, United States under Barrack Obama, Britain and Nigeria against the Biafran people. Such humanly well-coordinated plot was to be acted at the supervision of the United Nations and well known media giants with tactics of downgrading the number of human lives lost. While Obama was to kick start it, Hillary Clinton was to bring the plot (which is the extermination of Biafrans) and regenerate a crop of remnants which were to be nurtured in the Islamic faith.

Already, the foot soldiers from nearby Arab states were positioned strategically under the false flag of ‘herdsmanship.’ Others conscripted in the Nigerian Army were briefed on the mission and warned not to deviate from the status quo. Buhari’s government, being the host institution, had already lied to the rest of the world that the herdsmen are aliens, just to plead ‘not guilty’ to these atrocities. The major social media sites like Facebook and Twitter; main stream media houses like CNN, BBC, Aljazeera, New York Times and local media outlets were all lobbied to shutdown Biafra news. The conspiracy and its strategies were primarily to exterminate Biafrans.

Indeed their conspiracies never saw the light of the day, despite the resources they have put into it. To Britain, God rewarded her with ‘Brexit’ which forced out the Satanic agent (David Cameron) out of 10 Downing Street. Since then, Britain has not risen again -she is struggling with multifaceted issues ranging from what will be her fate after legally pulling out from EU, the Scottish question and the seriously declining British economy. What of Saudi Arabia? Of course the kingdom is sucked in Yemen and the fall in global oil price has trimmed her arrogance. It is widely reported that there is austerity measures in the kingdom and her real headache is how she is going to manage her returning foot soldiers (ISIS). Trump, Putin and Netanyahu are already in the move to send them back to the kingdom with their hard and soft bludgeons. She is no longer keen on the Biafra extermination project, rather the holocaust that is at her door step! The offender is now the defender. What a Mighty God we serve!

Well, the prophecy above promised that “within threescore and five years shall Ephraim (Nigeria) be broken, that it be not a people”. Already she is 95% close to the fulfilment of this prophecy. Her economy is gone, Naira is now a tissue paper, Military officers have become soft targets to Boko Haram, the budget was padded and later, missing along with the mystic Chibok ladies.

Today, Nigeria is in a big mess. It is a shame on the African continent to regard Nigeria as her giant. What else is left of the contraption other than total collapse? Her soldiers are unpatriotic to her as her enemies. These are the consequences of conspiring against the elect of God, Biafrans. It will be important that Nigeria releases Nnamdi Kanu quickly and free Biafrans before it will be too late for the occupants.

To Biafrans, Chukwu Okike Abiama (The Almighty God) warns us in the prophecy that “if ye will not believe, surely, ye shall not be established”. We must believe in the restoration of Biafra state, believe in the prophet of our time, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and believe in Chukwu Okike Abiama (The Almighty God) so that his kingdom will be established upon the face of the earth.

BIAFRA: AMID AMNESTY'S REPORT, BRITISH MEDIA BACKS BIAFRA GENOCIDE.

It is with absolute dismay that we (Biafrans) express our feelings on the consistent support Britain has given to Nigeria since 1914 amalgamation till today, in her bid to divide,rule and exterminate Biafrans. Those disposed to intellectual discourse have carefully studied the style of reporting in the British media and have come to understand that there is something fundamentally wrong with the psyche of the British when it comes to the 'issue of Biafra.'

Like BBC, Daily Mail and now Guardian that have so far covered this news from the United Kingdom, none have come out to state categorically, based on irrefutable video and photographic evidence presented by Amnesty International, that 150 unarmed peaceful protesters were indeed killed by Nigerian soldiers acting on the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari.

There is this natural hatred for Biafra from some within the British establishment which they cannot hide no matter how hard they try. Be it their government of the day, media or business interests. Their apathetic attitude towards the issue of Biafra remains the same.

Most students of African colonial history is of the opinion that Britain's problem with Biafra stems from the fact that they want to perpetuate the total control of oil, gas and other natural resources in Biafraland through their Hausa Fulani allies who they cleverly enthroned as the perennial rulers of Nigeria. The thinking being that the largely economically docile Northern ruling class will not challenge the status quo of Britain being at liberty to do very much as it likes as was the case during colonial times.

Britain ensured that power was transferred to the North upon independence, which by all intent and purposes have continued till date. Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan's administrations were mere caretaker regimes than actual government if you consider the length of time the North has been in power compared to the South

This ill informed position on Biafra is flawed because Biafrans are arguably more British than any other race in Africa. From the Anglicisation of their names, language and culture to shared value systems such as tolerance, freedom of expression, Christianity and dare I say it, Western education to name but a few. Therefore where this morbid irrational fear of Biafra is coming from some of us do not know.

Is it not ironic that despite the role the British Government played in the pogrom of 1966 by not prevailing upon the North to stop the mass slaughter of Southerners who were mostly Biafrans, His Excellency Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu still adopted the pound as the name of Biafran currency. If Biafrans nursed any animosity towards the British, beyond the initial non ceding of oil wells to Shell BP as the then British Prime Minister requested through representatives of the oil giant who visited Ojukwu at Government House in Enugu, why then did Biafrans name their currency pound?

To those misguided and misinformed elements within the British establishment, Biafra means the end of neo colonialism and their control of the mind of black man. That is why so much has been invested to stop the emergence of Biafra at all cost.

Also contained in this article by the UK Guardian newspaper is a mortal fear of political union between South East and South South which will naturally result in the independence of Biafra. Only those who are capable of discernment would have observed this subtext in this publication. Only if so called Niger Delta people can see this and retrace their steps.

Put simply, the British it appears do not want Biafra, that is why they have not come out publicly to condemn the illegal detention of Nnamdi Kanu who incidentally holds their citizenship. Same British Government have in the past publicly called for the release of known terrorists they feel their detention fell foul of due process of law. Guantanamo Bay comes to mind.

These Arabian terror suspects with only British residency not citizenship, were recipients of open UK Government and media support. Why British Government have decided not to accord the issue of the illegal detention of Nnamdi Kanu the same level of attention it devoted to the release of Islamic terrorists is a question only them and their media can answer.

The British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, a British public service broadcaster, is set to launch "BBC IGBO" in her bid to pervert the minds of the locals and further frustrate the restoration of Biafra. BBC was the world's leading broadcasting organisation as at 1950-1970, an era that Biafrans suffered dehumanization of different kinds, ethnic cleansing, targeted social dissociation, pogroms and British aided Nigerian war.

As at this dark era in the history of Biafra, BBC did not only invite these divisions and violence, but ensured that the rest of the world was kept in delusion of Nigeria's British-aided war crimes against Biafrans which included air, land and sea blockade, starvation, rape, torture, targeted at erasing Biafra from the face of the earth (just in Adolph Hitler's style).

According to Washington Post (editorial) July 2, 1969 "One word now describes the policy of the Nigerian military government towards Biafra genocide. It is ugly and extreme but it is the only word which fits Nigeria's decision to stop the International Committee of the Red Cross, and other relief agencies, from flying food to Biafra, 'Nazis had resurrected just here as Nigerian Forces."

Amid these indignities, cruelties and savagery; when Biafrans grasped for breathe, when we needed as much help as we could get, when we needed media coverage the most; the 'then' world leading media, BBC, chose the side of the oppressor. BBC sacrificed our blood on the alter of political and economic aspirations. Thanks to Bruce Mayrock, an American student of Jewish descent that burnt himself to death in front of the UN Headquarters in New York on May 30 1969, with a large cardboard that read "YOU MUST STOP THE GENOCIDE -PLEASE SAVE 9 MILLION BIAFRANS."

BBC's reportage on Biafran independence movement or self-determination has always presented the agitation as a "rebellious act" to her listeners, viewers and readers. While BBC refers to the Scots seeking for independence as "Scottish Nationalists", it refers to Biafrans on the same course as "Secessionists". While it uses the term "Arewa" (the indigenous identity of Northern Nigeria) as people's identity, it splatters "Biafra" in tarnishing overtones.

Owing to the renewed agitation for the restoration of Biafra, orchestrated by the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, led by the supreme leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu; Britain has designed "BBC IGBO" to reach out to the same people they machinated their death. Britain is back to the same people they air-raided and killed; that same people they purposed to exterminate.

We are sure that 'BBC IGBO' has not come to tutor the Igbo people on UN's charter for self-determination, 'BBC IGBO' was not conceived to replicate the 'BREXIT' style of movement in Biafa, 'BBC IGBO' has not come to tell us how 'Igweocha' was renamed 'Rivers'; 'BBC IGBO' was not created to encourage peaceful agitation for the restoration of Biafra; BBC has not come to apologize for the media blackout against Biafra during the war -NO!

'BBC IGBO' was conceived to sell the benefits of a united Nigeria to Igbos the benefits that has claimed the lives of our elites and commons since 1914 and still counting, the benefits of being victims of radical expressions of religious beliefs, benefits of a divided Biafra, benefits that has claimed over 6 million innocent lives, benefits of creating more sea ports in the West, benefits of securing admission into public schools with a cut-off mark that favours the North. YES! This is the gospel they are coming to preach.

They have been preaching these in English language, but having lost out to Radio Biafra, with more elites believing in Biafra restoration, they have come to seek for believers of their gospel amongst locals. They are bringing the battle to our soil.

Howbeit, Britain should have known that Igbo is just a language out of many others in Biafra. I would suggest they come up with BBC EFIK, BBC IBIBIO, BBC IJAW, BBC ITSEKIRI, etc. It might be helpful to their vain mission.
Someone forgot to tell BBC that an average Igbo man or woman places rational thinking far above Igbo language.

Notwithstanding, if BBC decides to continue on 'BBC IGBO' project and their mischievous intentions behind it, IPOB is twice ready to break her bars. The more IPOB counters and disproves her lies through Radio Biafra and other media channels, the more its ill-glorified image is tarnished. Her monopoly of information has belonged to history and their wings of deception will be clipped off soon.

BBC should have known that if their combined efforts with CNN and Aljazeera could not keep the world benighted about Biafra today; if the colonial masters could not persuade our fathers otherwise, then, 'BBC IGBO' is set to serve as one of the tools to preserve the Igbo language. 'BBC IGBO' is already on a failed mission.
