We Have More Soldiers than the Nigerian Government – Nnamdi Kanu

January 3rd, 2021

The leader of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has on 1st January, 2021, said that the ESN has more soldiers than the Nigerian military. Kanu made this assertion during his New Year broadcast on Radio Biafra.

The Eastern Security Network (ESN) was recently floated by the Supreme Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, as a result of incessant killings, rape, kidnapping and destruction of property by the world rated fourth most deadly terror group, Fulani Herdsmen. Bedeviled by the aforementioned for such a long period of time with the government looking the other way, the people has demanded for a security outfit to secure them from terrorist attacks.

Many individuals especially from the Northern part of Nigeria have kicked against the security outfit. Why such condemnation when the North has its own vigilantes and the West has their too leaves one wondering the true intention of these elements. Kanu has however reiterated that the security outfit has come to stay.

Commenting on the viral video of Nigerian military men with a helicopter searching for ESN members in the forest Kanu said, "They will try us; of course they will try us. Forget all that razzamatazz of flying over the place with a helicopter, we are waiting for them to commit their men on the ground.”

Speaking further, the Biafra leader said “When they come, we will teach them a lesson.”

The ESN, a security outfit made up of men and women from the old Eastern region of Nigeria, is actually a response to insecurity in the country. Had the government manned up to its basic duty of protecting life and property, ESN wouldn't have been birthed.
