Female Nigerian activist Aisha Yesufu has taken a swipe at the federal government of Nigeria. She said calling the country (Nigeria) a zoo is just an understatement. According to her, the country is "worse" than a zoo.
In her words, she said:
"Calling Nigeria a zoo is actually a compliment. It is worse. Killings don't happen in zoo indiscriminately. It is more like a jungle but then, killing in jungles is for a purpose. Nigeria is in a category of itself where killing happen indiscriminately with no purpose".
This, she revealed on her official Twitter handle, @AishaYesufu. Berating the federal government, the activist asserted that respect should be deserved, and not demanded.
"You cannot just respect a country just because it is a country. That country has to be deserving of that respect," she tweeted.
The activist continued to castigate Nigeria; pointing out failures of the present government, whom she accused of neglecting the youths - mostly students - having failed the latter in relation to constant strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
Aisha also outlined causes why Nigerian youths have every right to disrespect the country and its government:
"What has Nigerian youths got to respect Nigeria for?
The ASUU strikes?
The unemployment?
The kidnappings?
The killings by terrorists?
The killings by security agents?"
She concluded.
