The name “Nigeria” embodies backwardness – Nnamdi Kanu

The name “Nigeria” embodies backwardness – Nnamdi Kanu

In the light of the irredeemable situation Nigeria has found itself, the Supreme Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in his quest to emancipate the Biafran and black man in general, has dug deep into the root of Nigeria’s problem.

As the Igbo people say, the name of a person follows him. Diagnosing Nigeria, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on a radio broadcast on Sunday night traced the country’s problem to its name. Kanu told his worldwide audience that the name “Nigeria” actually means “Niger area.”

Speaking further, the vibrant Biafran leader said that the word “Niger” means black, and on that premises, Nigeria, coined from “Niger area,” means black area. According to the Biafran leader, the Latin meanings of the word 'black' are ill-omened, unlucky, gloomy, dismal, and obscure.

Requesting his listeners to google the colour psychology of black, the IPOB leader asserted that black is something used as a symbol of menace and evil. “In the Holy Bible,” he went on, “the colour black is the colour of mourning.”

"How many people will name their daughter Jezebel?” The Biafran leader rhetorically posed. “The answer is none,” he continued. “But you are named Nigeria which is evil, ill-omened, unlucky, gloomy, dismal, obscure, menace, and mourning.”

A certain Igbo proverb says that a man with a bad name is already half-hanged. Little wonder there is an ill-omen in Nigeria. Nigeria is really unlucky and obscure, and to crown it all, there is mourning in every part of the country.
