ENUGU - In what could be best described as a form of celebration to mark the success of the just concluded ‘Biafra Atonement Day’ was witnessed on Sunday as expressed by members of the Great Coal Camp zonal family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The members had reportedly gathered at exactly 6:00pm on September 18 to observe the atonement prayers in their zone before they ascended to the popular Coal Camp mountain on Wednesday, September 19 to mark the end of atonement in which they reconciled with God and rededicated themselves to the Biafra struggle.

Appraising the efforts of the IPOB leadership and members of the zone at the event, the zonal coordinator, Mr Tochukwu Okoro extolled the former for the inroads it has recorded so far in the struggle for the liberation of Biafrans, saying it is only dedication, honesty and loyalty to the cause that ‘separates seeds from chaff.’

Okoro also applauded members of the state media for their pivotal role in ensuring that peace and stability returned to the zone.

He further noted that if not for the assistance, exceptional and truthful reportage cum exhibition of the media, the zone would have been dragged to the abyss by enemies of the struggle.

In her remarks, the State Media Head, Miss Adaobi Ngozi thanked leaders and members of the zone for exhibiting exceptional resoluteness and commitment even in the midst of turmoil and tribulation that plunged some zones in the state into disarray, adding that the coordinator of the zone has portrayed an exemplary leadership worthy of emulation.

“If there’s anything that would yield positive impact for the struggle, the Great Coal Camp zone would be the first to do it. If am not mistaken, they’re the only zone in the state that gathered together to observe the atonement day. They have exhibited exceptional strength and leadership even in times of trouble and distress.

“This zone have always been in the forefront of IPOB affairs in Enugu, they have always displayed and upheld the principles of IPOB in the state despite efforts of some individuals who are bent in destroying the image of the zone just because they kicked against double standards which lacks the ideology of our leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

“They kept on upholding justice and carried on with the IPOB directives both financially and otherwise. The celebration of victory over the enemies of Biafra of which so many zones came to celebrate with them shows the rejected stone have become the cornerstone,” she posited.

Ngozi also expressed happiness over the invitation and subsequent visit of the IPOB leadership to the UN, even as she encouraged all and sundry to continue in their great exploits towards the liberation struggle.

Both members and visitors from other zones in the state took turns to express their gratitude and appreciation for the enormous efforts of the IPOB leadership, even as they pledged to commit more resources towards ensuring the realization of total freedom for Biafra and her citizens.

They prayed for unity and progress of IPOB and for the state to wake up from their slumber and make Enugu IPOB great again.
