The leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra IPOB, director of Radio Biafra and Biafra TV; Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and four other defendants; Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawusi, Chidiebere Onwudiwe and Bright Chimezie were slated to appear in Abuja high court on October 17, 2017 but Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had been declared missing by his lawyer; barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor and IPOB worldwide, after Nigerian Army invaded his home on September 14, 2017, broke into his house, killed over 27 Biafrans, left many injured and carried some of the dead bodies away.
However, the court could not continue with the trial since the first defendant Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is missing, the case was adjourned to November 20, 2017.
