BIAFRA: IMPLEMENTATION OF 2014 NATIONAL CONFERENCE DOES NOT CRIMINALIZE SELF DETERMINATION -IPOB CHARGES

May 3, 2017

It is no longer in doubt that Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, has changed the course of Nigerian politics, he has forced Nigerian politicians out of their comfort zones. Kanu has given voice to the cowardly Nigerian politicians and law makers who lacked the courage to question the North's political arrogance since Muhammadu Buhari took to office on May 2015.

It is with uttermost disgust that we (IPOB) watched Mike Ozekomeh vibrate like a pregnant woman in labour pains trying to convince his audience on why a united Nigeria will be greater than an independent Biafra. Written all over him was desperation, the fear of the rising Biafra agitation and a sense of urgency owing to the imminent reemergence of Biafra.

In this event organised at Abuja on Tuesday May 2, 2017, titled "2014 NATIONAL CONFERENCE IMPLEMENTATION SUMMIT" which had almost all the Nigerian ethnic groups in attendance, the only reoccurring idea in all the speeches rendered by the participants is that "Nigeria must be restructured to ensure her unity."

In Mike's speech, he noted that the Nigerian constitution lies against itself -the constitution was never by and for all the ethnic nationalities in Nigeria. It is a constitution that gave the majority over to the minority in an ocean of injustice.

But the questions are: where were these men when Biafrans were massacred for a cartoon against Muhammad which was painted in far away Denmark, Europe? Where were they when Nigeria refused to build a functional sea port at Onitsha, Calabar and Igweocha but rather plans to dredge an artificial lake in the north for importation purposes and is building a second sea port in Lagos? Where went their voices when the Ijaws were killed for speaking up against the injustice meted on us by the Nigerian government? What about the war crimes that were never addressed, the bombed houses that were not rebuilt, the wealth that was reduced to 20 pounds? The questions are endless....

Obviously, the recent recognition of the Biafran genocide by the Israeli Prime Minister, the passionate support from the former Minister of Aviation, Femi-Fani Kayode and the presence of the governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, at the Federal High Court Abuja in solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu, has sent a clear message to the Nigerian government that IPOB is growing from strength to strength.

This is our stand: Nigeria can go on with their plans to restructure their country, it has nothing to do with our right to self determination. If Nigeria is restructured today, the more we (IPOB) will agitate for the restoration of Biafra. Restructuring Nigeria does not criminalize the right to self determination.

Howbeit, the recent desperate moves to restructure Nigeria is an indication that Nigeria still underrates our resolve to restore Biafra. IPOB reiterates that no force in hell or on earth will stop the restoration of the Sovereign State of Biafra -not even the restructure of the already failed British project, called Nigeria.
