BIAFRA: IPOB BLASTS THE BRITISH MEDIA: COVERING UP NIGERIA’S ATROCITIES SHOWS YOU HAVE NO SHAME.

Despite Amnesty International’s 87 video evidences of the extrajudicial killings of Biafrans by the Nigeria military, the 122 indicting photographs, 146 eye witness testimonies and 197 interviews relating to IPOB’s (Indigenous People Of Biafra) demonstrations and other gatherings between August 2015 and August 2016, the British media houses are seen to be making conscious and relentless efforts to discredit the report.

British Broadcasting Corporation, Daily Mail and Guardian are the architects of this media propaganda. A closer look to their reports reveals a malicious attempt to ‘’DIVIDE’’, ‘’RULE’’ and ‘’EXTERMINATE’’ Biafrans.

To validate this, according to a report by Guardian on 26 November 2016, it read in part: ‘’ The unrest in the region is another challenge for the country’s president,Muhammadu Buhari, who is grappling with a sharp slowdown in Africa’s biggest economy, as well as the bloody Boko Haram insurgency in the north-east, and militancy elsewhere in the oil-rich southern Delta region.
‘’Secessionist feeling has simmered since the separatist rebellion by the eastern Igbo people, one of Nigeria’s largest ethnic groups, led to a three-year civil war that ended 46 years ago. An estimated million people died, mostly from starvation and illness, in the conflict, which left deep scars and deep resentment.

‘’Now, like then, Igbos say they have been marginalised by being excluded from key government posts and denied vital funding for infrastructure development, schools and hospitals.’’

The above and more are the kind of news BBC, Daily Mail and Guardian feed the world to keep them in delusion of the truth about Biafra. They keep shrinking the agitation for Biafra restoration to an ‘’Igbo affair’’; while they forget to tell the world that the major individuals that fought for Biafra apart from Emeka Ojukwu are non-Igbo Biafrans. They hid it from the world that many non-Igbo Biafrans were killed at Ahaba, Igweocha, Ikot Ekpene and Calabar. Britain would not want to tell the world that the Niger Delta Avengers (a Biafran group) agitating for resource control and restoration of Biafra) demanded for the release of Nnamdi Kanu as one of the conditions for cease fire. Yet, they claim to be associated with ethical journalism.

More in their reports so far, we also observed that they are more interested in stressing Nigeria’s void response to Amnesty than analyzing the evidences provided by AI. They (British media) refer to us as ‘’secessionists’’ while they refer to the Scots (seeking for independence too as ‘’nationalists’’); maybe, a punishment for being black. This has proved that the British government is not yet apologetic about the media blackout of 1967-1970, when they aided the Nigeria government to kill over 6 million civilians (mostly women and children) in Biafra’s attempt to separate from the Islamic Caliphate (Nigeria).

With all their songs of human right/left, International treaties, Divided and United Nations, Refugee agencies, ethical journalism, International Criminal/Innocent Court, rule of law etc… It is taking the whole world eternity to address the Biafra genocide. The innocent children that died of starvation and Kwashiorkor, the innocent girls that were raped and tortured, families that were torn apart never to meet again, the elderly that died unattended, the corpses that littered at Ikot Ekpene, the tears of the meek… Biafrans cannot count her loss. Amid these, Britain’s thirst for our blood has remained unquenchable.

Has any British media reported the killings? Has the British government called for Nnamdi Kanu’s release? Have they risen against the polluted land and sea of Bayelsa? Have they condemned the illegal arrests and incarceration of Biafrans? What have they said about Buhari’s disobedience to two court orders that ruled for Nnamdi Kanu’s release? Nothing! Absolutely Nothing!

In Ojukwu’s words, ‘’Nigeria was a classic example of a neo-colonialist state, and what is left of it, still is. The militant nationalism of the late forties and early fifties had caught the British imperialists unawares. They hurried to accommodate it by installing the ignorant, decadent and feudalistic Hausa-Fulani oligarchy in power. For the British, the credentials of the Hausa-Fulani were that not having emerged from the Middle Ages they knew nothing about the modern state and the powerful forces that now rule men’s minds. Owing their position to the British, they were servile and submissive. The result was that while Nigerians lived in the illusion of independence, they were still in fact being ruled from Number 10 Downing Street. The British still enjoyed a stranglehold on their economy.’’

Britain is more interested in discrediting Amnesty’s report, they are more determined to blackmail Biafra and tenacious in upholding Nigeria’s Islamic and vindictive missions. With recent developments, it has become clearer that Nigeria did not and could not have killed over 6 million Biafrans; Britain did. They supplied them with weapons and man power which was crowned with media blackout.

Make no mistakes; agitation for Biafra is just one out of many reasons why we are massacred daily. In the past 15 years, the Nigerian government has killed thousands in Bayelsa State just to intimidate and silence the indigenes; religious intolerance has claimed the lives of thousands of Biafrans in the Northern Nigeria, Biafrans live in fear in a country that is supposed to be theirs.
Nevertheless, we are a mentally tough nation; we will never ever give up on Biafra. It does not matter the sacrifice, the pain, and how long it will take. We are certain that one day, the British media will wake up to realize that Biafra is an indestructible identity.
