Information made available to Biafra Writers has it that some group of the Nigerian police attached to Central Police Station(CPS) in Enugu metropolis has arrested a good number of IPOB brethren who embarked on a peaceful sensitization program today.
The IPOB brethren who rallied round Ogbete Main Market (OMMTA), Enugu, telling buyers and sellers alike on the need to close down their shops/places of transaction and stay at home on the 23rd of September in solidarity to the worldwide campaign to release the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, were unexpectedly arrested as they went on the peaceful mission.
According to the report, the Chairman of the acclaimed biggest market in Enugu whose phone number went viral on social media and after receiving torrents of call from IPOB all over the world directing him to shut down the market on the demonstration day, was actually the one who arranged for the arrest with a handy and already waiting policemen when he invited them into his office.
Further reports revealed that the IPOB Ogbete family members who participated on the evangelism at the market were thoroughly beaten and assaulted by agents of the Nigerian army and police force inside the market leader’s office before being taken to the nearby station few minutes ago.
The exact number of the arrested persons cannot be immediately ascertained as of the time of filing this report, however information has it that they were about 7 in number, arrested also was the Ogbete market IPOB coordinator, Ikechukwu Egbo Nwodo. Furthermore, we have been reliably informed that IPOB officers who are in charge of resolving police issues in Enugu have swung into action in an attempted bid to secure their release.

Biafra! What is the rationale behind the campaign for market closure? It could have been okay if there is a grass roots foundation.
