Saturday 24th September 2016
On 23rd September 2016, a day that was marked out for a SIT-AT-HOME protest in demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB; was such a huge success that even the birds sat on their nests, the ants hid in their holes and the atmosphere was grave.
Indeed, the date has gone to history; 23rd September 2016 became a nightmare for the Nigerian government; the day it became clearer to Nigeria that she has lost their grip on Biafrans. Biafrans have shown their unreserved allegiance to Nnamdi Kanu and their consent to Biafra ideology.
Igweocha (Portharcourt) was the very best! Compliance was perfect, the town was placed motionless; the busy lanes of Mile 1 market, Mile 2 and Mile 3 markets were all deserted. Ikokwu Spare Parts market rendered Olu Obasanjo Road lifeless; traders at Ogbunabali Computer market and Iloabuchi Electronics market, Diobu, all sacrificed the day for Nnamdi Kanu and for Biafra. Aba-Port Harcout road and Ikwere road were left for the wind that blew on the surface of the road in a gentle and pleasant manner.

Abia State exceeded expectations too. Ariara market became a land of ghosts, Alaoji Spare market was deserted. Banks were closed, schools (nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary institutions) observed public holiday. Osisioma roundabout had no trucks moving round about it, Port Harcourt Road was free. There were no vehicular movements at Okigwe road, Osusu road, Hospital road and Faulks road. Hawkers rested at home, truck pushers had a time out of work while bankers had a good time with their families.
In Anambra State, it was exciting for visiting journalists to capture a picture of the River Niger Bridge at Onitsha, standing without a fly on it. The ever busy Nkwo Nnewi market was under lock and keys; traders at Ose Main market, Mgbuka Spare Parts market Obosi, New Parts market Nkpor and Eke Awka market Awka all had a historical Free-Friday. The Students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka was not left out, Federal Polytechnic Oko, and Anambra State University Uli were all excited to sit in their lodges and discuss the metamorphosis in the Biafran political system. Biafrans in admiration, sneaked out at intervals to capture a picture of the lonely roads Enugu-Onitsha express way and Onitsha-Owerri express way.
Despite the desperate moves of the combined efforts of Thief Uwazuruike Raphael and Governor Rochas OkoroHausa of Imo State, IPOB recorded a tremendous success as Imo State indigenes defiled the orders of these two saboteurs to obey the SIT-AT-HOME order. Imo State University had no activities, Anara junction was deserted and Douglas road was lonely.

Ahaba (Asaba) closed all markets, government offices, motor parks and schools.
The Abak road of Akwa Ibom was a ghost of itself; the MM highway and Marian road of Calabar and the capital city of Bayelsa, Yenogoa, was not in their usual busy mode while Enugu and Ebonyi States remained relatively calm.
At this point, the patriotism of Biafrans is no longer in doubt, our determination cannot be exaggerated and our fanaticism has been expressed.
Biafrans, on 23rd September 2016 displayed to the world that indeed, Nigeria has no say in Biafra.
Despite the hasty evil arrangements of the Nigerian government, security operatives and her media, the SIT-AT-HOME order by the leaders of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, was obeyed without reservation nor grudge. Biafrans have shown that they neither take orders from the Nigerians government, her petty and unprofessional security operatives nor her unethical media outlets.
This exercise has dispelled all divisive prejudice against Biafra targeted to DIVIDE and keep RULING over Biafrans.
This has shown public acceptability for the agitation of Biafra as against the Nigerian government that always presents the agitation for the restoration of Biafra as coming from very few percentage of the Biafran population.
The crucial point about this exercise is not only the fact that Biafrans fully complied but that they did it in excitement and in anticipation of a restored Biafra. Families listened to Radio Biafra at home, friends discussed politics while the children were tutored on the history of ancient Biafra, the advent of the brutish Britain, the inducement of the Biafra-Nigeria civil war, the genocide and the justification for Biafra restoration. The blood-thirsty Nigerian soldiers paraded but no one to shoot at, this strategy is alien to them.

The unethical Nigerian media outlets were overwhelmed with the facebook gallery of images from Biafra showing empty roads and locked shops. They were caught between justifying the brown envelope given to them or face further boycott by Biafrans.
We did not sing on the streets but our voices were heard; we did not march but we shook the earth; we did not blow our trumpets but we made loud sounds; we did not raise our flags on the streets but the streets raised our flags. We have taken our destiny into our hands and have said no to ‘’Divide and Rule’’, ‘’Tyranny’’, ‘’Injustice’’, ‘’Unjust Killings’’ and ‘’Illegal Detentions’’.

Biafrans, all over my beloved country Biafra, and all over the world, l say THANK YOU for making the call for sit-at-home of September 23, 2016, an unbelievable success. Let us not make the call for sit-at-home a one-time activity. Let us make it a monthly or a bi-monthly activity. As Chinedu Ewulu said in this essay, Biafrans, on 23rd September, 2016, displayed to the world that Nigeria has no say in Biafra. Biafra is an independent nation. We must do everything within our power to make sure that it regains its seat and position within the community of enlightened nations.
