Few months ago, Nigerian army said it has specially trained 200 soldiers to carry out special marine operations and rescue missions in the Niger Delta, following the resurgence of what it termed "militant activities" in the region.
This was disclosed by Brig-Gen Stevenson Olabanji, the Commander of 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, who represented the Chief of Army Staff at the graduation ceremony of young soldiers of 73 Regular Recruit In-take in Harry’s town, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.
It will be recalled that some armed freedom fighters emerged in the Nigeria Delta region to wade into the clearly observed issues of gross violation of human rights by the federal government of Nigeria under Buhari, even as the government has become adamant to the public cry for justice - having exhausted every possible avenue to achieve their inalienable rights, and Justice.

It is said that, "When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty", and those who understand what this means, have no cause to blame any emerging group picking arms to justify their cause because Nigerian government and it's leaders only understand violence better than peace and would never tow any peaceful part to address the horrible crimes it committed against the various ethnicities including Biafra people. Rather than being remorseful for the crimes against humanity, these rogue leaders would want to sweep those atrocities under the carpet including the Biafra war genocides.
Since the inception of Buhari's APC-led government that clearly came to power with calculated core Islamic agenda, much public fund has been spent in the procurement of various sophisticated military wares in preparation for an offensive against Niger Delta freedom fighters of which Niger Delta Avengers is among.

The Buhari government has paid a whooping $258m dollars to hire American Mercenary Army known as "Blackwater" to fight what they termed "terrorism" in Nigeria. But keen observers continue to ask why the government had not done so in the past even as Boko Haram continue to ravage towns and villages up to the level of having Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) - refugees in own country.
Buhari had this negotiation without properly consulting the National Assembly. He disregarded constituted authority and cared not to obey any secular law, as an Islamic fundamentalist. He has had series of closed door meetings with his brothers - Northern politicians, on what to do because as far as Islam is concerned, none Muslims in Nigeria are simply appendages as clearly seen in one of their founding father's statement, “This new nation called Nigeria, should be an estate of our great grandfather, Uthman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We will use the minorities in the North as willing tools, and the South, as conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us, and never allow them to have control over their future.”

It is based on this premise that Buhari and his Northern politicians are bent in acquiring those military wares to fight and have the people they term "South" and "Minorities" conquered as they have vowed never to allow them have control of their future! So they know that time like this will come when the "South" and the "Minorities" would demand their freedom.
They knew they were marginalising people before now. You can see from the decade-old statement of Ahmadu Bello (Sardauna of Sokoto and Premier of Northern Region) that the North planned internal colonialism long before now and for them to achieve it, have to monopolise power and force their religion on non-muslims and possibly kill them as they did recently in Kano and Abuja respectively where two Christian women were publicly beheaded without a single crime or offence, except that they exercised their religious beliefs.

Buhari and the North will stop at nothing to fight to keep Nigeria one. It hasn't escaped the lips of the Army Chief and moves have been made to procure arms and other military wares to achieve this. This insatiable desire to fight in the Creeks of Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa States, have been cautioned by the UK High Commissioner, Phillips Hammond, who simply warned, “The idea that your answer is by moving big chunks of the Nigerian Army to the Delta simply doesn’t work,” adding that the Army did not have the capacity while fighting Boko Haram jihadists in the North, and that, “It won't deal with the underlying issues.”
It seems this noble advice was swept aside by the war criminals and genocidists as they now buy new weapons to get themselves ready. We hear recently that war planes are hovering around Rivers and Bayelsa States in a low altitude, probably monitoring or viewing the possible locations of NDA who are their target.

The blood of the innocent civilians, women and children killed and starved to death during the horrible Biafra war may be demanding appeasement and this could be the best time for their ghosts to hunt Nigerian Army coming to Niger Delta to fight, as they are now hunting some governors who are a accomplices to the numerous injustices perpetrated daily in the land against law abiding citizens. Some of the boys in the Creeks have suggested that such a move must be resisted vehemently by them, "using locally made modern technology to overpower and counter those who think we are still living in the era of colonialism", one said.
Justice is our demand, and peace shall reign supreme! But the gross neglect to this will continue to tell on Nigeria as its people continue to suffer economic recession until Biafra is restored. It is pay back time! They used hunger against Biafra, now hunger is everywhere. That is the natural law of retributive justice and we are yet to witness more until the right thing is done.
