ABDUCTION AND SUMMARY EXECUTION OF IPOB BROTHERS IN ABA: WHERE ARE THE HUMAN RIGHTS GROUP?

Saturday 28 August, 2016

Permit me to make it known to the International community, United Nations, Human Rights Organisations, and the world over, that there are still persistent abductions and secret extrajudicial killings of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) still going on especially in Aba, Abia State, and one is tempted to ask the question "Where are the human rights group?"

Ever since the Amnesty International gave damning reports on the Nigerian military excessive use of weapons and aggression on the armless Biafrans who are simply exercising their rights to self-determination, the Nigerian police and army have resorted to secretly abducting IPOB members at odd hours and have them killed without anybody giving account of their sudden disappearance.

In some cases, like those kidnapped while having their meeting, the police would demand outrageous amounts as bribe to release the abducted ones known to be at their custody. The rate at which this dastard act is going has prompted the outcry to let the world know about this and to warn the Nigerian government to stop using the police and army to incessantly abduct and kill IPOB members.

The agitation for the restoration of the Sovereign State of Biafra is an idea no human can stop. It is the inalienable right of indigenous peoples to ask for freedom or seek for self-determination without being hunted down by the government. We are not the first to do so in the world nor are we going to be the last.

Our agitation for freedom is surely based on nonviolence, but the Nigerian government has in several occasions pushed us severely to the wall by arbitrarily killing and maiming us, yet we have never bore any arms to retaliate. It is on record that indigenous peoples in other parts of the world who deem it needful to break away from their initial union, have done so successfully without any military nor police interference, killings, nor imprisonments. But the case in Nigeria is quite different. Her leadership would stop at nothing in wiping out the Indigenous People of Biafra for asking to separate from Nigeria.

Yet the same Nigeria that does not want them to leave have been killing them in thousands like animals since the Biafra genocidal war till date. Nigeria has unleashed untold hardships on the Biafrans so much more that some of them who found themselves outside Biafra land are really trapped, and stranded that they don't have means to return.

The situation today is getting worse that almost on daily basis, we hear news of sudden disappearance of IPOB members. We therefore call on the International Communities to wade into Nigeria's wanton killings, abductions, and extortions of IPOB members before it gets out of hand.

We seek with passion and abiding with the law, our freedom from the oppressive state of Nigeria. Nothing will ever deter us from reaching our goal. Not even their arbitrary killings. But Nigeria should also know that no man has the monopoly of violence, and to keep on killing us continuously, may push us to the extent of defending ourselves if they fail to take extreme caution.

Self-defense is not a crime and it is the Nigerian police and army that would ignite the fire if they fail to refrain from the extrajudicial killings and abductions of IPOB in Abia State or other states in Biafra land and Nigeria as a whole.
A word is enough for the wise. Biafra Alive! #FreeNnamdiKanu. #Biafrexit.
