BIAFRA:
NIGERIA'S HYPOCRISY AGAINST THE PEOPLE OF NIGER DELTA
14th July 2016
Since the exploration of oil in the Niger Delta area in 1958, which Shell BP started as the first multinational company to start full scale of commercial production, the proceeds from black gold has turned to fortunes for Nigeria's economy which joined the top producing countries of the world.
Nigeria, which everybody knows was once agricultural based economy diverted to oil. No doubt that the economy of Nigeria till date is dependent on oil from the Niger Delta area, yet the government including all independent companies cannot boast of any developmental projects in the region rather the government brazenly neglects the area.
READ: RESTRUCTURING NIGERIA IS NOT THE ANSWER.
Series of previous governments has made promises to clean up oil spillage and improve the lives of people of Niger Delta but never did anything meaningful to make it a reality. The NDDC and the amnesty program was like giving a piece of cake to the person who owns the whole package.
It is ridiculous that the owners of the resources are being employed to secure the pipeline and oil installations in their communities. The new government of President Buhari on the assumption of office canceled these program and imposed soldiers on these communities, on the people, raping their women and making their communities a war-like territory which made many of the villagers vacate their land.
BIAFREXIT A MUST: SHAMELESS HYPOCRITES,THE BRITISH, LEAVES THE EU BUT WANTS BIAFRA REMAIN IN NIGERIA
The Buhari's administration shifted his soldiers from Boko haram battlefield to the south just to shut any mouth that shouts marginalisation. The people of Niger Delta region has been suffering, many have died due to series of cholera outbreak owing to lack of water, the land/water bodies has been polluted for long to the extent that farming and fishing activities have seized and the people are starving. This is starving the hen which lays the golden egg to suffer.
Sometime in 1990, a man from Ogoni ancient kingdom named Ken Saro-wiwa an environmental activist and a writer rose to speak out on neglect of his region by Nigerian government, at the peak of his non-violence campaign he was arrested and tried by the special military tribunal for allegedly masterminding the death of Ogoni chiefs at a pro-governmental meeting and he was later hanged in 1995 by the military dictatorship of General Sani Abacha.

The Nigerian government has continued to hunt anyone who rises to criticise them on their nefarious activities meted to the people of the oil producing communities. This is an act of wickedness and evil perpetrated by Nigerian government against the people of Niger Delta.
The renewed activities of various freedom fighter groups in the region were because of President Buhari's continued marginalisation of the people, treating them as criminals and enemies of his government. The decision of the Niger Delta Avengers to destroy all oil installations is due to the inability of the Nigerian state to see reasons why they should meet their demands.

Mr. Buhari and his APC lead government recently promised to embark on the implementation of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) report but goofed when he said the exercise will take 30yrs. This is clear evidence that the government is not ready to implement UNEP's report, as it was in the past, they just want to deceive the people and the public.
The continued blowing up of the oil installation will not stop until the Nigerian government relinquish their hold on the resources since their lives depend on oil. The people of Niger Delta are Biafrans and as such demand total separation from the concocted entity called Nigeria. The earlier you understand this, the better because the journey has just begun.
