BUHARI'S TYRANNY IS EVIDENT IN THE CONTINOUS DETENTION OF NNAMDI KANU

Monday 11th July, 2016.

The continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and Director of Radio Biafra by the dictator, Buhari, is still the continuation of the popular draconian Decree 4  promulgated during his military regime in 1984.

This popular decree enabled him to arrest and jail anyone who criticized his government. Buhari enacted the decree to punish anyone who made statements or reports that exposed his reckless administration and its officers to ridicule or contempt. This decree encouraged Buhari to arrest many authors, journalists and as well close down many media houses that criticised his government.

In fact, the decree was to cover Buhari's corrupt actions and looting that characterized his regime as Chairman of Petroleum Trust Fund where 2.8 billion Naira went missing and his over-throwing of the democratically elected government of Shehu Shagari in 1983.

Now, Buhari has returned to Power in a Democratic dispensation. One will think that Buhari who claimed to have 'repented' will not employ the same style of his military government. But since his return, Buhari has continued to abuse every democratic institution - the Judiciary, the Senate and every other agency have been corrupted by Buhari.

Buhari has committed a lot of impeachable offences and ruthlessly violated the constitution which he swore to protect on assumption of office. He has used the DSS to haunt and detain his perceived political enemies, he also used the Judiciary to issue warrants to arrest anyone who criticised his government.

On the list are Nnamdi Kanu, Olisa Metuh and Recently Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode.

The case of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB has exposed the weakness of Nigerian judicial system. Nnamdi Kanu who the DSS has accused of committing treasonable felony was granted bail in two different courts but Buhari has ordered his continued detention and has continued to raise trumped up charges with no evidence to prove them.

It is obvious that Buhari and DSS have no case against Nnamdi kanu but are just holding him in order to fulfil his (Buhari) wicked acts of silencing anyone who speak out against the injustices of his administration.

Nnamdi Kanu only expressed his fundamental human rights of free speech. He only demanded the freedom of his people from the continued marginalization of the Nigerian government, he only seek the implementation of rights of self determination as enshrined in the UN Charter of Indigenous People which Nigeria is signatory to. Buhari had failed to understand that the law is supreme, he does not understand democracy, he does not understand separation of powers in the 3 tiers of government.

The question is how long will this impunity and rape of democracy continue? I think it is time justice is allowed to prevail in this situation because evil will never triumph over good. Buhari should follow the path of posterity as his supporter David Cameron of Britain, who recently conducted Referendum which allowed Britain to leave EU, didn't arrest Alex salmond who is championing the independence of Scotland from Britain.

Buhari should do the needful now to save the already battered image of the Zoo-called Nigeria.

Freedom is the only way to true democracy!
