FULANI MENACE IN BIAFRA LAND:THE DEADLY SILENCE OF THE NIGERIAN MEDIA IS OVERWHELMING

The  five letter word ‘ media ’ is derived from the word medium, signifying mode or carrier. Media is
intended to reach and address a large target group or audience . The word was first used in respect of books and newspapers i . e. print media and with the advent of technology, media now encompasses television, movies, radio and internet . In today's world, media becomes as essential as our daily needs. Media of today is playing an outstanding role in creating and shaping of public opinion and strengthening of society.

Media is the sword arm of democracy . Media acts as watchdog to protect public interest against malpractice(s). Media helps in fighting against corruption, nepotism, cronyism and creating public awareness. Suffice it to say that this good qualities of media are not obtainable any where in Nigeria media! The way this important gentle men of the press  have allowed every government that emerges to use them cast doubt that they are actually agents of democracy. Their handling of information dissemination is totally absurd, especially if it concerns an opposition and people they don't like. They would rather accept to be bribed by the government than standing for the truth which their profession is all about.

Since the inception of the administration of Muhammadu Buhari whose "chain" campaign slogan was mistaken for change by the public, there have been serious breach of information dissemination by the media that suppose to keep the public abreast.
A typical instance under discuss here is the level of silence maintained by the Nigeria media over the Fulani herdsmen invasion of Biafra land. Such silence from people regarded as watchdogs of the society have made curious minds to question the credibility of Nigeria media if they are serving man or are they truly watchdogging the society?

For the past few weeks, we've had several cases of fulani menace happening all over Biafra land, but alot of people would not have known the grave damage the savages have done if not for Biafra writers. Another typical example of this conspiracy is the lack of reportage on the 5,000 guns and ammunitions found in two different mosque in Aba, eventhough Governor Ikpeazu led the charge that led to the arrest of the Hausa-FulanI culprits. Another incidence is the one where different bags containing large amount of guns were found inside a luxurious bus in Aba.

If the Nigerian media are really transparent as they always want people to believe, what informed such a uniform silence? Even when they report what they choose to, why do they sugar-coat their report, while leaving out real details of event? What do we call that? A conspiracy? Or a celebration of the invasion of their enemies' land?  The world have seen from this obnoxious characters that the clamour of "one Nigeria" is completely a sentimental nonsense and non existent  as earlier believed even by the so called founding fathers of Nigeria. The Media being selective on the dissemination of  information on Biafra invasion by Fulani herds men is a clear depiction of tribalism. Yet they would always maintain that Nigeria is one, absolutely not.

How can one justify the oneness of an entity where the Media is obviously selective of information to give to the public  about others in the same society who are under attack and verge of annihilation. There is no way to justify this, absolutely no way. Nigeria Media is simply guilty of professional breaches. They have become a stooge in the hand of Muhammadu Buhari and the Northern Islamic oligarchy. All the same, it does not matter whether or not they report the truth, IPOB media will always be here to tell the world the way it is.
