Information reaching Biafra writers once again has it that the dreaded Niger Delta militants has struck the Trunkline belonging to two of the largest oil companies in Nigeria, Agip and Shell.
This incident happened early hours of this morning the 28th of may, 2016 in Bayelsa state. They did not just destroy one trunkline, but three (3) different lines in Nembe, Bayelsa state.
In a tweet message sent via their handle today it reads, " At About 2;15am on Saturday the @NDAvengers blow up Nembe 1, 2 and 3 Brass to Bonny Trunk Line belonging to Agip and Shell."
Previous report says that the recent destruction of pipelines by the Avengers has reduced the production of crude oil to 1.7m barrel per day, the worst decline experienced by Nigeria in the 22yrs. But according to bloomberg, even before the previous strike, Nigeria's output production has fallen below 1.7m barrels a day for the first time since 1994.
The facility breach is coming at a time when Nigeria's oil production levels is falling below the expectations of the country's 2016 budget.
The budget will be facing a new challenge due to production cuts. The budget placed an oil benchmark of $38 per barrel with a production level of 2.2 million barrels per day, but with the incessant bombings of pil facilities that budget is no longer feasible.
The Avengers have vowed to cripple the economy of Nigeria by taking away their highest revenue generator, the crude oil and they seem to be eager to fulfil all of their promises until their demands are met.
The president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari should do the needful before this degenerates into another civil war.
