THE CLAMP DOWN ON BIAFRANS IN NIGERIA IS UNDEMOCRATIC

It is evident that there are hidden plans surrounding the version of democracy adopted by the Nigerian government. My commiseration is to the narrow minded people that cannot see beyond the hypocrisy rooted in their constitutional charters. Everywhere in the world, democracy has never been despised as we are witnessing in Nigeria as the strength of the people rely on democracy. Democracy is a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation.

As explained, the purpose of democracy is to protect people's lives from the brutality of any tyrannical government. Nigerian government adopted a new democratic constitution on 5th May 1999 for the implementation of civil liberties, free press and an end to arbitrary arrests and torture of her citizenry and resident alike. According to that declaration, it begs for questioning if Nigeria is indeed rendering the much-needed liberties to her citizenry when they cannot freely agitate for their right?

A very good example of dissent to the constitution of Nigeria and resistance to judicial ethos is the illegal abduction of Nnamdi Kanu and subsequent refusal by the Nigerian government to grant him the freedom the constitution offers her citizenry. The tortures and killings of peaceful Biafrans asking for their freedom are another glaring examples of how undemocratic Nigeria is. Human right abuses can not be equalled anywhere else in the world than what is obtainable in Nigeria.

Presently, the kind of democracy in Nigeria is nothing but a menace to the people. The power that belongs to the people in opposing a tyrannical governance has been shattered instead. Well-orchestrated and nefarious plans by some deadly powerful individuals in Nigeria have rendered the voices and yearnings of people hopeless and useless. The People elected into governance in Nigeria have been using the same power invested in them to inflicting all kinds of inhumane acts.

The most awful of these are from president Muhammadu Buhari and the governor of Anambra State; Willie Obiano. They both have displayed and are still displaying to the the world that democracy and human rights for self-determination is an illusion under their watch. Besides all the massacre of Biafrans in Biafraland, while these two brutes are governing, they have also orchestrated and concluded the abduction and massacre of the Indigenous People of Biafra both in broad daylight and nights as well as instantiating the decomposition of their remains with acids and chemicals to blanket their deadly acts.

I have never seen where democracy is made to become a snare to the people whom it suppose to protect. In Nigeria, every benefit of democracy is totally deprived of the people and thus, impossible to demonstrate for their rights. In Nigeria, court rulings are flaunted and disrespected at will and the rulers care less about the consequences.

Therefore, it is pertinent that the world and all lovers of freedom worldwide rise and speak against these inhumane acts meted on Biafrans by the tyrannical rulers in Nigeria. The creator of the universe had invested in every human the power to protect, reason and share in other people's miseries and pains. In accordance with this provision, I thus call on all lovers of freedom and people of goodwill to join in condemning this self-acclaimed democratic state of Nigeria due to her undemocratic practices.
