Following these killings, torture, unlawful detention of the leader of IPOB and other members in prison; IPOB has kept focus on her objectives, which is the peaceful restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra. The continued peaceful protests despite all odds, has won the admiration of several media houses around the globe. They were awed because it is not too often that a people who are faced with extermination, but yet chose to remain calm and civil are seen.
An example of such admiration was on a occasion where Muhamadu Buhari was interviewed on March 5th, 2016, by Martine Dennis of Aljazeera Television. The journalist in a bid to drive home her point, wanted to show Buhari a video of peaceful Biafra protesters in case he has not seen it, in her own words she said ‘’…Lets also look at the problem that seems to be emerging under your presidency, you’ve not even been in power for nine months, but in the South Eastern part of the country, we see the Indigenous people of Biafra, they are protesting PEACEFULY and on a regular basis and there has been a video, I can show you a video that has been posted of a very…’’. At this point, the murderous Buhari, envisaging a public disgrace interrupted his interviewer by bluntly saying ‘’No thank you’’ –he absolutely refused watching the video, but did not hesitate to make boast of how Nigeria killed over 2 million Biafrans in a 30 month war. He was further advised by the journalists to call the agitators for talks, but alas it all fell on deaf ears.

It is obvious that IPOB’s diplomatic approach is beginning to frustrate Nigeria. They have exhausted every means of setting up baits towards tagging IPOB a terrorist organisation. It is pertinent that the world understand that the Indigenous People Of Biafra is a people and not an organisation. Biafra existed over 2,000 years ago before the almagamation of 1914, which saw the lumping of people of diverse culture in one entity called Nigeria.
IPOB has ensured that every detail regarding the struggle is comprehensively reported to appropriate authorities, not just for record purposes but also as an evidence that justifies her claims against Nigeria, and above all for posterity sake.
On Saturday, 10th day of April 2016, DSS, out of frustration has once again conjured another false allegation in their desperate move to tag IPOB a terror organization as usual. It claimed that IPOB abducted five Hausa-Fulani residents in Abia State, killed them and buried them in shallow graves at Umuanyi forest. It went further to incite that ‘’IPOB is gradually showing its true divisive colour and objectives, while steadily embarking on gruesome actions in a bid to ignite ethnic terrorism and mistrust amongst non-indigenes in South-East region and other parts of the country’’

These claims by the DSS were falsely concocted so as to forestall the upcoming appeal case, where it is certain that they will lose their case against Nnamdi Kanu. The same body (DSS) which has no respect for court orders has continued to show unethical and dishonourable approach in handling issues. In the same manner, they have resorted to using disreputable media houses in Nigeria like Channels Television to propagate their smear campaign.
IPOB hereby invalidate and deflate such claims. We declare it not only false but nugatory. We have remained peaceful and resolute even in the face of travails and incessant massacre of our people, and we shall continue to remain so. IPOB will never resort to violence as her means to restore Biafra or even defend herself. We are a people who value human lives, and as such will not descend so low to taking away lives aimlessly. Buhari and his henchmen have been the ones doing away with the lives of Biafrans at will, simply because they have chosen to obey their leader
We have towed the peaceful path, ofcourse to the bewilderment of the Nigerian government, and we will continue to do so because we are not savages like Buhari, DSS, Nigerian Police, Army and his Hausa-Fulani people, in form of herdsmen and Boko Haram. All we seek is the release of our leader and restoration of Biafra, so that all can go back to the way it was befor the advent of Fredrick Lugard, the creator of Nigeria. I urge all Biafrans to remain resolute for ‘’Together we will restore our nation’’.
