THE SHAME OF AU AND ECOWAS

Africa is said to be poor not because of the lack of industrial revolution as seen and witnessed in other parts of the world or the poor income per capital, rather the mental crudity that characterises almost all that represent Africa. The idea of denying to play the landlord of the continent when issues that have to do with her come up makes her a laughing stock before other regions. In Africa, virtually almost in all the African affairs, external dynamics set standards for internal dynamics.

Awful things happen that one asks if actually there are human institutions in Africa as seen in all other continents of the world. Why must African leaders and institutions wait to be reminded by external bodies, leaders and institutions of the evils going on in her neighbourhood before waking up to the condemnation of these inhumane acts? Why should they wait to be educated on human rights and freedom when these are naturally embedded in African values? Why should they wait for others to keep setting up good precedence when it comes to the process of emergence of new states as seen in Britain vs Scotland, Spain vs Catalonia etc? Why must freedom in Africa take lives (as seen daily in the killing of Biafrans by Nigeria Government) whereas, in Europe it takes referendum?

Biafra is warming up to be restored and joining the league of African states is a task that will and must be accomplished. (Though, Biafra was previously a recognised nation before the British led conspiracy which caused the death of over five million Biafrans). Biafra movement ought to be more of African discuss than the European. But due to the share mental moronic laziness and corruption of the region, it is now left to the western nations to discuss Biafra.

What do AU and ECOWAS stand for when they cannot call their member state (Nigeria) to order in respecting the right of the Indigenous people of Biafra? Imagine if Nigeria and Biafra are European, Asian, or American states respectively, all the regional and sub-regional organisations would have boldly cautioned Nigeria over her ineptitude and pressured her to draw the road map for decolonisation and referendum. However, because of bribery and corruption, AU and ECOWAS have mortgaged their conscience. No wonder Biafrans are killed by Nigerian Government every day while AU and ECOWAS stand aloof. What a shame! This is a testament to the fact why they are worthless in the comity of nations and issues relating to Africans and Africa are better discussed and resolved outside the regional blocs. Biafra would have been a good opportunity to re-brand the already decayed image of AU and ECOWAS, but the corrupt bureaucrats among them have chosen to sink along with Nigeria due to bribery from Nigeria.

It will be so painful that Biafra is restored through the external support of EU, UN, OAS e.t.c while the men of the so-called custodians of African values and cultures (African leaders and Organisations) chose to be dumb. I think this is the last chance they have to join the bandwagon as Nigeria is asymmetrically and symmetrically positioned for dismemberment. AU and ECOWAS should be liberal enough in their policies and act like the European Union in encouraging Biafra restoration through Referendum. It is high time they advised Nigeria to try her popularity in a referendum. Nigeria is already fading away as virtually everything is against her. Now is the right time the AU and ECOWAS abandon the false entity called Nigeria to Biafra that stands for ''Black man’s'' dignity. Long Live Biafra!
