NIGERIA: BUHARI AND HIS DSS DESTROYS THE JUDICIARY ...AS THE LEGISLATURE WATCHES, Deaf And Dumb

NIGERIA:
BUHARI AND HIS DSS DESTROYS THE JUDICIARY  ...AS THE LEGISLATURE WATCHES, Deaf And Dumb
The three arms of government namely; Executive, legislature and judiciary in a democratic system of government is designed for checks and balances. These three arms of government are inter-related but independent from each other, to enable a smooth running of the government and to ensure adequate checks and balances
Since the assumption of General Muhammadu Buhari as the president of Nigeria, the activities of the legislature and the judiciary arms of government became ceremonial and paralyzed . Muhammadu Buhari does what pleases him, For example, he ran the government of Nigeria for over five months from his bedroom without cabinet. It took him over five months to come up with a list of ministers which at the end the day did not reflect the federal character as stipulated in the constitution. He awarded himself a ministerial position contrary to the provisions of the law.....and the legislature were paralyzed from evoking the provisions of the constitution which he Buhari sward an oath to uphold. He persecutes anyone who opposes his dictatorship and frees his brothers from prison regardless of the crime they have committed. Muhammadu Buhari single handedly registered Nigeria as the number 34th member of the Islamic military allied forces in Saudi Arabia without consultion, let alone getting approval from the legislative arm of the government. President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the illegal arrest and detention of many citizens whose stands are divergent from his views.

President Muhammadu Buhari through the DSS arrested Nnamdi Kanu without any crime preferred against him. Buhari has disobeyed court ruling three times. The court ruled and ordered the federal government of Nigeria’s DSS to release Mr Nnamdi Kanu the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and director of Radio Biafra and Biafra TV unconditionally, but Buhari disregarded this court orders and rulings. It is a shame that even as I write, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu is still being illegally and extra-judicially detained in DSS facility in Abuja against the order of the court. This is a slap in the face of the judiciary arm of government.
What I cannot understand is the silence of the legislature and judiciary, especially the judiciary arm of Nigerian government over the recalcitrant attitude and dictatorship of President Muhammadu Buhari. It is important to state here that, if the NBA fail to stand up, fight, and protest against this undemocratic moves of President Muhammadu Buhari , one day, they will wake and discover that they do not have a job anymore. Because when the ruling of the court cannot be respected, when the common man can no longer have confidence in the court of law, when justice is compromised, then your job is on the line and state of anarchy is just waiting to happen.
In the case of Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, the police as the law enforcement agent maintaining law and order, should move in and do their job, as it is obvious that DSS has gone out of order. If the Nigerian police have not compromised their standard as they claim, they should move in and execute the release of Nnamdi Kanu as ordered by the court in Abuja.
I must add in conclusion that any Judge that will allow him or herself to be used as an instrument by President Muhammadu Buhari’s DSS to pervert justice, will be the last destroyer of the judiciary. At this point, It has become necessary that all lovers of justice and freedom should stand up, speak out and protest against this ugly development before it gets out of control.
